      Yes I have to and these are my ultimate favorite electrolytes . But spendy . My body flushes my sodium out . On that note… I drink an LMNT daily

    I use the element recipe on their website. Mix the bulk ingredients in a pyrex container and then use a teaspoon to scoop out a 'serving' when I want to drink it.

    • @thehomeintent
      @thehomeintent  6 วันที่ผ่านมา +15

      That is a great idea! Definitely takes less time. When I started doing this, I thought about that but I was concerned that I wouldn’t get the right ratio in every scoop, but that’s probably not something to be worried about! I’ll probably end up doing that in the future. 😊

    For those who have blood sugar issues, pineapple juice would spike blood sugar. Not that spiking blood sugar is good for anyone. I'd say just adding it to plain water is safest. I like LMNT, but it's so freaking expensive. I didn't not know they have a recipe on their website. Thanks for sharing that.

    Thank you Errika!! We live in Florida and my son works outside all day in the heat. I do make him Switchel but I really like the idea of making this so he can mix one up to use daily. Great info!! I do add molasses to my Switchel to help with added minerals.

    One suggestion would be to make sole’ water and put a tsp in your drink instead of separate ingredients. Sole’ water lets impurities drop to bottom of jar. Sole’ water has up to 80 minerals so you’re not over doing a few. Then there is no need for containers! There are plenty of videos on internet how to make it. Loved your video tho. many days I just take a sip straight from the jar on my way out the door. Since I started that no more swollen ankles!!

    Looking at Electrolyte mixes in health store, none have the same ratios as LMNT, so who determines the ratio? Based on what?

    • @thehomeintent
      @thehomeintent  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great question! LMNT has an article where they explain their ratio (science.drinklmnt.com/electrolytes/lmnts-electrolyte-ratios-explained/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwl6-3BhBWEiwApN6_kvSn8JUhMgquqIjG0JOIud-E4UZKzUlM_Adwn3OCIHOwpYeO1cEOqxoCvYAQAvD_BwE). LMNT has been endorsed by a few people I very much trust (Dr. Andrew Huberman being the most popular), so that's why I went with their ratio. Maybe it's not perfect according to some, but it's helped me feel more hydrated and have more energy so I'm happy with it!

    • @thehomeintent
      @thehomeintent  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Just after doing a quick google search, it looks like cream of tartar is 20% potassium, so I guess you’d need to use more of it! 1 tsp has 495 grams of potassium and the LMNT has 200 g of potassium, so if you used a scant 1/2 tsp you’d be close
