  • How to make better facial expressions when you dance and really capture the viewers attention! Facial expressions are a KEY part of K-Pop dancing, and don't get the attention they deserve. Good facial expression can take a dance from looking beginner level to performer level, regardless of the dance skills underneath. And you don't even need big confidence to do it, just start with a smile. 😊
    This K-Pop basics series is a set of the number 1, top basics that are used by K-Pop companies, training schools and trainees themselves. These videos are designed for complete beginners to help you learn step-by-step, everything you need to become a strong and confident dancer, whether you dream of being an idol, a coverist or just as a fun hobby.
    I am a professional K-Pop dance teacher, with 5 years of K-Pop training in Seoul and 7 years of K-Pop teaching experience. I specialise in teaching beginners, neurodivergent people like myself, and dancers with anxiety.

    this makes so much sense. i always fall into that habit of looking very serious and focused when i dance. it doesn't help that my face looks quite strong and i come off as intimidating when i don't have show expression whoops haha...but it's not much of a problem once i get comfortable with a dance and start to have fun ^^ but your tips help me out further. i tried practicing to a couple of songs and your tips helped a lot! i'll continue to practice my facial expressions using your advice~ day 24 complete!

    Omg where’s the love button? This is hella helpful! No one really talks about facials but they really do make or break a performance imo.

    yes! i have been a dancer for a while now (totally diff style...) but this is one of the hardest things to work on but so important. I don't have the 'look of terror' on my face anymore, but sometimes that 'im thinking real hard' look sneaks in lol.

      Lipsyncing can help with that too. Dance can make our faces tense but if our face is tense when we smile it can look strange. Lipsycing help to keep the face muscles busy, or you can try to do some deep breathing before dancing to relax the face and body and hopefully get a more natural expression.

    I don't really use facial expressions in everyday life a lot and I have a resting bitch face 99% of the time. The only thing I know how to do is to look happy and the rest looks the same. My friends asked me to learn Aya by mammamoo (sad song) for a competition and it's not my dance style and I can't do facials either.

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Facials are definitely something that take time to practice, I took a long time to learn them and become comfortable with them.
      I think for a competition you should do a dance that you are comfortable doing and you can enjoy. If it's not your style then I think it's better to choose something else or you will be too stressed, and dance should be something fun!

    How do you deal with energy? My dances seems like I'm dancing with no energy:/

    • @PinkKPopAcademy
      @PinkKPopAcademy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      My idea about energy is that when dancing for camera, the camera eats 50% of the energy. So it feels like 100% but looks like 50%. So you need to dance much much bigger and more powerfully than feels necessary. Push as hard as you can, and each time try to push harder to stretch your limits and get your body used to the bigger shapes. At first it will even feel silly to be dancing so big but once you get used to it, it will make your dancing look much better.
