I am still colouring along "the girl with the bird " in Summer Night book that you did and I am enjoying it. Thanks for those beautiful tutorials. This one will be a must definitely.
Thank you Alena, great choice, an underwater page, nobody does!!!! Look forward to the colors you are going to give to the fishes :)!!! I agree with the lady who ask to color the double page with the owls, this would be amazing! Thank you for sharing
Rita I'd like to do all the underwater pictures from Hanna books... maybe with different art mediums. And I promise I'll do owls, just need to decide with colours. And fishes are... red...and lavender... and magenta... and violet )))))
Thank you for coloring sea motif pictures. They are far and few with the other colorists. I completed this one and about to start the Derwent inktense that you did. Thank you.
I love this one so far. When you were doing the coral at the middle of the picture it looked like you used two different colors just before you finished it but you didn't use the color tags. What were the colors used? Would you consider doing the lovely double page of owls in Dagdrommar. I'm sure you could do something wonderful with it for us to follow. Thank you Alena 🙂
First of all I promise I'll do owls! Just give some time to decide with colours, I don't want to mess it up! The coral was made with only three pencils - 914 Cream 1012 Jasmine 921 Pale vermilion. I lightly covered with cream, then added Jasmin on all edges, then Pale vermilion on the tentacles (? branches?), than again Jasmine and Pale vermillion to add more brightness. Around the fish I used 50% French grey to create light shadow
Good evening Alena, I'm coloring this page , as far as you schowed the cards I could follow it. Then your are showing an other part of the water , done whitout the cards. Are you coloring two colors on the same place, mixing the colors , because it looks like to me. It can be the lightning, I'm not sure , so I'm going to stop for the moment because I dont want to make a mistake! Can you please tell me what I have to do?
Rita do you mean a left part of the page? The colors are the same - from top to bottom: yellow chartruse lt.green lt.ceruleum blue mediterranean peacock indigo You don't have to use each colour in horizontal lines, the more you blend colours the more natural will be result. Use darker colors behind corals and fishes - it will add depth to the picture.
Thank you Alena, I do not color in horizontal lines, I understand what you mean! The color of my pencil and the color of your pencil looks completely different. The screen and the camera are changing it , that's the reason that I think I make a mistake :). Now you told me that it are the same colors I will continue!!!!! Thank you so much for helping me, I'll show you the finished page. The ice house is ready, also will send you a picture !!!!!!
Rita, you won't make a mistake, there is no mistakes in colouring..... well, maybe if you put dark colour in the top and light in the depth of water, it indeed will be a mistake, but water is so changeable... Now when I look at this picture I even want to add more darker (maybe dark violet or dark green) colours, between objects. It would make picture more dramatic and interesting...
