I enjoy Carthage as well. My problem on my play throughs is that both of these are simultaneously true: 1) It feels bad to completely gimp Rome when they are highly vulnerable and miss that rivalry 2) The margin between ‘Rome is still manageable’ and ‘Rome is nearly unbeatable’ is only a hair’s breadth. I don’t like having a Carthage play through where Rome is conquered immediately. Yet they will annihilate you easily if you allow them to build up. It feels bad that if you try to allow Rome and Carthage to grow to their historical borders around the time of the 2nd Punic War - Rome will handily crush you (maybe that is historical tho 🙃). I want that role play to work more smoothly. Idk, I haven’t tried it in a while. Maybe I am a good enough player to handle them now. Either way, I love Carthage, but that is my impression whenever I play them.
Is is a good idea to assimilate all of North Africa into punic culture? And if so, can you show us what would be the easiest and fastes way to do it? Great video btw, really helped me!
I mean, it's a good idea, but assimilation is slow in Invictus. I definitely would not accept any cultures from North Africa except from Egypt (which I am currently doing). Might make a follow-up video of this run.
@@Improbable_Gaming Alright I'm looking forward to it! It bother me to see the cradle of Carthage (the Maghreb) not having punic culture lol, also it would give more levies and more stability
I’m guilty 😂. Unless there is a very compelling reason to use political influence in the first few years of the game (like to change religions) I ALWAYS fill out the ideas. I cant stand not accessing the government bonuses from not filling them out.
