I love that the game highlighted Lucifers rage over man being made in the image of God. For someone ruled by pride like Lucifer is, such a thing would’ve been maddening beyond comprehension. It’s an intimacy with God that no angel possesses. In this, man is superior to angel kind, and this is utterly abhorrent in Lucifers eyes.

Agreed, Lucifer's voice acting is absolutely brilliant and has alot of range. I love how we see his Different emotions and phases. It makes him feel more genuine. They tried to make a sequel but it got cancelled. However, I think that it wouldn't have made the grade, but I do think a spin-off game would have been possible if they thought of one. This is what I mean, you play the part of someone who found himself/herself in a similar predicament, this pc would team up with other souls from different eras in a quest for vengeance against Old Scratch here.
It's been a while since I've played but I'm pretty sure it's partly to do with him absolving literally everything in the game so he has no scythe upgrades, the cross would probably do more damage because he has more levels in absolution

I played this on the PSP ages ago because we couldn’t afford a console at the time. I think I labeled this game in my head as “God of War but Biblical”. My parents are ridiculously religious so I would play this alone at night to hide it, scaring myself in the process 😂 I love this game. The visuals were amazing.

Probably the most annoying are the shockwaves that have more than one wave coming at you, resulting in you getting hit somehow even if you clear one of them, or those that hit you and knock you back far enough where you nearly fall off a cliff or something.
I've never played this game but always admired how shamelessly hacky it is. Like, Lucifer is so powerful he was able to put up enough of a fight against God his rebellion could be called a "war", but that doesn't stop him from being a totally generic "disembodied torso that slowly punches you in front of a circular arena" final boss.

This game was amazing...and got almost no recognition. But there was nothing more awesome than fighting through the layers of hell and killing actual satan.

But Danté doesn't know how he was able to beat old scratch on his own, until Kratos shows up & tells Michael that Danté is his great great (over 100 millenia) grandson. "It runs in the family", he picks up Danté in a bear hug & Danté SCREAMS when he gets squeezed, "I'm not as strong as you grandpa! Whatever you had, i'm afraid it waned with every generation. I certainly don't remember my own father having THIS!" KRATOS: "Who said I was your Paternal Ancestor?" DANTÉ: "I assumed...." KRATOS: "Don't underestimate your Maternal Lineage, I am of Spartan Stock, Spartan Women are a force to reckon with too." DANTÉ: "You know what my mother did, don't you? I'm not criticising but I don't think she knew she was of Spartan descent. If she knew, she maybe wouldn't have done it." Michael having overheard the conversation puts his arm around Danté to show his sympathy & says "this is not the time to talk about past regrets, we have a meeting to attend now, Kratos, Danté, you 2 must attend as well."
Centuries later, old Scratch will make acquaintance with a soul far blacker than Danté's. He will have plenty of fun with this Austrian mad dog who became the Führer of Germany.

While I cant agree with everything he did do, one aspect I whole heartedly would tell god too. You cant compel love. Love should be freely given, if its compelled that means its not true and therefore I would not want it.

This isn't the only game where you fight the true King of Evil. In a Castlevania game you fight him as DRACULA OF ALL BEINGS! I doubt that it will be the last you hear of old Nick in any game in years to come.

They tried to make a sequel but it got cancelled. However, I think that it wouldn't have made the grade, but I do think a spin-off game would have been possible if they thought of one. This is what I mean, you play the part of someone who found himself/herself in a similar predicament, this pc would team up with other souls from different eras in a quest for vengeance against Old Scratch here.

It's been a while since I've played but I'm pretty sure it's partly to do with him absolving literally everything in the game so he has no scythe upgrades, the cross would probably do more damage because he has more levels in absolution
This is even tortorous on a harder level, not only is his health bar longer but his damage can take half of your health.
I love this game, it got a bad rap because it offended the legacy games media's fragile sensibilities.

I played this on the PSP ages ago because we couldn’t afford a console at the time. I think I labeled this game in my head as “God of War but Biblical”. My parents are ridiculously religious so I would play this alone at night to hide it, scaring myself in the process 😂 I love this game. The visuals were amazing.

I goddamn hate shockwave attacks the most on any boss fights.
Probably the most annoying are the shockwaves that have more than one wave coming at you, resulting in you getting hit somehow even if you clear one of them, or those that hit you and knock you back far enough where you nearly fall off a cliff or something.

I’m an older gamer and I absolutely loved this game. Macabre and grotesque. I loved it.
I've never played this game but always admired how shamelessly hacky it is. Like, Lucifer is so powerful he was able to put up enough of a fight against God his rebellion could be called a "war", but that doesn't stop him from being a totally generic "disembodied torso that slowly punches you in front of a circular arena" final boss.
Behind all the fanfare, Lucifer is an egotistical brat throwing a temper tantrum.
It honestly works though. Even in the original poem Lucifer is said to basically be sad, pathetic, and stupid lol
The giant behemoth is meant to be a casing bound to a single place for eternity, that's why his small form is much more complicated to fight

Man having read the Divine Comedy i certainly was a fan that Dante's duel with the Devil was put in the game.
This game was amazing...and got almost no recognition. But there was nothing more awesome than fighting through the layers of hell and killing actual satan.
It was a clone of God of War gameplay wise. What recognition could it possibly get?

It took Michael and the entire angelic army to cast down Lucifer.
Michael welcomes Danté into the fold & begs him to share his secret. But Danté doesn't know how he was able to beat old scratch on his own, until Kratos shows up & tells Michael that Danté is his great great (over 100 millenia) grandson. "It runs in the family", he picks up Danté in a bear hug & Danté SCREAMS when he gets squeezed, "I'm not as strong as you grandpa! Whatever you had, i'm afraid it waned with every generation. I certainly don't remember my own father having THIS!"
KRATOS: "Who said I was your Paternal Ancestor?"
DANTÉ: "I assumed...."
KRATOS: "Don't underestimate your Maternal Lineage, I am of Spartan Stock, Spartan Women are a force to reckon with too."
DANTÉ: "You know what my mother did, don't you? I'm not criticising but I don't think she knew she was of Spartan descent. If she knew, she maybe wouldn't have done it."
Michael having overheard the conversation puts his arm around Danté to show his sympathy & says "this is not the time to talk about past regrets, we have a meeting to attend now, Kratos, Danté, you 2 must attend as well."
