Anyway for power ups that could be useful in real life. The propeller mushroom would be cool since you can use it to in the air for a bit, the same can be said for the carrot power up from SML2 (Super Mario Land 2) but you can control your descent. Basically any ability to control how you fly like the cap feather or the super acorn. The Boo Mushroom would be cool, only down sides I can think of is the light and if you actually become dead for a brief moment of time The blue shell would be cool since you can be immune at most attacks in the shell but you can get dizzy and can’t see a whole lot There were so many power ups to choose from (most of these I got from the wiki to see what would be very interesting and there’s a lot) and this is only a few of them. another thing about the penguin suit is you can also slide above water for a short period as well as be a proficient swimmer much like the frog suit from smb3 but with a slightly smoother flow. i would assume the suit makes you have partially less friction so if you need to get somewhere slightly faster it's be useful in short term situations.

The gold fire flower could potentially tank the value of gold, plus what you mentioned about turning the wrong thing into gold. One the plus side, gold has all sorts of properties from its electrical conductivity to its density that make it insanely valuable in engineering.
I think the synchronized movements thing is more an effect of gameplay limitations. That or the clones are linked in a hivemind so keeping movements synchronized is the easiest way to keep everything coordinated. If you want clones that can easily do things independently, the Copy Flower would probably be more your speed.

1ups bring up the question of where your spawn point is, but also could be a nightmare if you have a terminal disease that can’t be cured by the 1up because the 1up maybe just restarts you in the condition or even time when you picked it up.
The ice flower is not practical because you can’t control the temperature of the ice. So when you say cooling down food, it really means turning it into a block of ice which is not any better than very hot food
The 1 up mushroom could be really bad cuz 1. You'd probs get like governments trying to steal it from you to do tests on it and 2. If you did use it, you would see everyone you loved die, unless you used it on them, but then word might spread about the mushrrom, so honestly the 1 up would be really good if you had just 1 forever, since you could cheat death once, or help a single family member, but if you had more it would be terrible
