    For the commentators, y’all need to stop the overlapping banter and the trying to one up each other and stop guessing at what the players are going to shoot . Call the plays as they happen and maybe conject on some of the shots. You missed quite a few calls because you were too busy by over explaining what shot you would do and missed that the shooter called a pocket!

    I can't watch this - the camera is jumping all over the place - to views which are not useful and often hide what's going on. The main view should be at the end of the table and only occasionally some other view to clarify something - which doesn't happen that much in 10-ball.

  • @shannonmcstormy5021
    @shannonmcstormy5021 ปีที่แล้ว

    And....to be a broken record.....the replays are nice but they NEED to include the end of the shot, when all the balls stop moving, then give the viewer a few seconds to look at the table after the balls stop rolling. Watching replays of Safeties is useless to if you stop the replay too soon, before all the balls have stopped moving. Even Joe Rogan commented on the replays stopping before showing the end.

    • @shannonmcstormy5021
      @shannonmcstormy5021 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ps. When templates are used, most of the players are using a lot of spin trying to get the one-ball into the side with consistency. I was initially against the templates, but now I would rather see their use. Predator doesn't sell templates, only triangles, and they are one of the major sponsors in nearly all of these tournaments. There is an argument against templates, that they are too predictable, but I think the cons outnumber the pros here.....

    I wish SVB saw this question, but anyone feel free to answer: in rack 3, 2nd set, SVB shooting 6, why did he draw that ball instead of follow? It didn't look like he was straight on. Seems you take risk of overdrawing and running into 7 out of the equation, which his body language during travel of 6 says he was worried about that after he hit it.

    • @joerobertson7887
      @joerobertson7887 ปีที่แล้ว

      With his power draw, I think he's just making a statement.

    • @glowworm3345

      With the slickness of the new cloth, if he were to follow it the topspin would have killed the cue ball on the rail.

    • @jeffs8330
      @jeffs8330 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's because going forward with top would've taken the cue ball across the 7 ball pocket line. Pros and very good players like the cue ball to travel into or away from the pocket line giving them much more margin for error. If you saw, by drawing the ball, he was able to make the 7 even if he came up 2 feet shorter or went another 3 feel further. If he used top and came across the 7 ball pocket line, he would have had to stop in about a 6 inch window to guarantee the angle on the 7 that he wanted.

    • @TimbreThompson
      @TimbreThompson ปีที่แล้ว

      I have noticed that SVB prefers stun/draw shots over top. I agree with you and have questioned a few of his shots on a bunch of videos for the same reason, he could have just toped that cue ball right back into the middle of the table. But if you watch him play, he will always stun/draw that's just his style.

  • @DGavinchi
    @DGavinchi ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't think jump shots should be legal but that's just my opinion. Also, does anybody know how old Roberts is in this match?

    • @jeffs8330
      @jeffs8330 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm with you. I would at least like them to be not allowed following your own shot. I see too many matches where a pro snookers themself because they got bad position and they just pull out the jump cue and finish the runout. How about no jump cue following your own shot at a minimum

  • @shannonmcstormy5021
    @shannonmcstormy5021 ปีที่แล้ว

    Unfortunately, these days, despite the money getting bigger year after year, professional billiards players need sponsors to make a living at it. Mr. Roberts needs someone to help him purchase some higher-end clothes that fit properly (his clothes are plain and too large, which makes the high-water pants-hem baffling). In fact, perhaps even spring for some bespoke pants and shoes. He also needs a proper modern haircut/style for a young man (not saying you need to go full Roberto Gomez, but a haircut/style out of this decade would be helpful). A little attitude and a new appearance, his handsome boyish face would put butts in chairs and viewers tuning in all over the world to watch him play. His game is excellent, great fundamentals, great stroke, good pace, (mostly) good judgement.
    He also needs to see a Dermatologist for his facial acne. And while we are on this potentially embarrassing topic, if you're going to be "on TV," you need to straighten and whiten your teeth. To be clear, I want to focus on the pool, never mind what someone looks like. But we live in the world we live in, and until pro billiard players can earn hundreds of thousands from just a dozen tournaments a year, these things will matter. (Plus I like "nice guys," at the table, like SVB).
    If the players look like a million bucks, with tailored bespoke pants, shoes and shirts, it elevates the viewer experience and the money will come even faster.
    .
