exactly we usin our voices & bodies that God gave us! he said whatever has life praise him!! thats what we do!! our voice is not a dead instrument its alive
I would first like to say that as a Church of Christ member I love seeing videos like this it keeps my spirit full. I am noticing all over the brotherhood that we are now doing things differently than when I grew up. However, I would like someone to find some scripture than speaks against the changes I am seeing. Every time I find disapproval I notice that we are holding on to traditions. Traditions are just that! There is no bible that says bass mics are not acceptable.
I just don't understand. The song is about thanking the LORD! And some people can't even focus on that! Always somebody being uptight about absolutely NOTHING!! Praise Him above! Love it and praising Him in the midst of my storm.
We cannot allow ourselves as members of the Body to become pharasiticle in our thinking... the Man is offering the fruit of his lips just as the scriptures Prescribes.
I'm so tired of seeing people trying to say they shouldn't be doing beats. When it comes down to it we're not using instruments so what does it MATTER???
Like i said the Man is offering the fruit of his lips ....There are a number of things We do in the Body that we dont have bible for.... Clapping,Mics, humming, etc
In your statement "differently" is the operative word. The bass mic becomes an instrument and God should not be worshiped with those thing as tho' he needed them. 1 Corinthians 14:15 says, "What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also." the bass mic is now a musical instrument, the songs sung in the church are teach and admonish (Colossians 3:16).How does the"beatbox"do this?
Why not bass mics? The bible said to simply use your voice, sing, etc. There is nothing wordly with this, why not use our talents to the fullest. By the way whats the difference between devotion singing and concert singing as it pertains to the God? Just asking!!!
I'm not sure how I missed this comment. I wasn't being negative...I was being sincere. Singing and Imitating musical instruments are not the same thing. So, if beat boxing during worship isn't found anywhere in the Bible, shouldn't doing so qualify as adding to the word of God?
One must be careful of "differently" differently usually means looking and sounding like the world. the world has a "red tag" on it and is up for destruction.
This congregation needs to be careful on how they worship if they consider themselves Church of Christ members. The guy making beats on the mic is eerily similar to a guy playing on drums in a Baptist church. It may not be a big deal but it would be enough to keep me away.
Pharasiticle? Not sure what that is...The issue is that beat boxing is no where in the Bible. We are to walk by Faith and live according to the approved examples, direct commands, and necessary inferences in the word of God. There are no examples in the bible concerning this. There are no commands(direct or indirect) for this. Neither is there an inference. If you feel comfortable giving "Singing" a new definition then I can do nothing but pray for you. Straight and Narrow
