  • After loads of testing I would definitely but this little generator again.
    BUT and this is a big BUT if they can't even get the correct oil written down in the manual I don't give much hope for the long term.
    The thickness level between 15w40 and 5w40 is significant and eventually 15w40 would change the performance.
    if anyone is interested I went down the middle and used 10w40.
    when I do the oil change I'll go with 5w40 and see if it makes a difference to how the generator runs.

    I think you will find that generator output figure of 700/800W is correct. The higher rating relates to the socket itself, i.e. if you break the generator for spares, you can't use the socket to replace a domestic 13A socket.

      After using a watt meter I did get the correct figures. I'm still quite happy with the generator.

    Your videos are really helpful. I bought one of these last year to power a rotavator for my allotment. I got it out the box for the first time this week as the weather is getting better. The problem I'm having is I can't get it to start. I've added the correct 15/40 oil, super unleaded petrol. I pull the cord and the overload light comes on and the engine will not start. What am I doing wrong?

      Unfortunately you are not the first person. Just double check the switch on. Give it full choke, by pulling the choke pin out. Give it a couple of pulls. If it still doesn't start check the sparkplug cap is on properly. If still no joy. Probably needs to go back. They are quite unreliable

    I read a bunch of reviews. Seems 15w40 oil with e5 fuel is the one. One reviewer said they tried 10w40 first to clean it of any production remnants and then 15w40

      If scheppach website was selling the generator with scheppach oil and it was 5w40. Mines running with e10 fuel and 10w40. I'll do an oil change soon and replace it with 15w40 and see if it makes a different. Can't really get e5 fuel anymore

      I attached a watt meter after doing all those test. It did confirm 800 watts was the max. Could only do it for a few seconds. Don't know why the manual states 1000 watts. Even the oil required is different.

      A lot of people are having some bad experiences with this little generator but so far I used it every day and not had any problems.

    I bought one already had 20 litres of e5 and 15.40 oil filled oil to correct level same with petrol started 2nd pull ran okay used it to run my pond pumps UV lights . Work fine for two days few hours each day until it ran out of fuel .topped it back up it started okay but even after half hour. It sounded like it was hunting for fuel revs were faster then slower. .switched it off left it overnight started it today. And exactly the same revs up then down constantly . Almost as its low on petrol but it's not . It's only ran for less than 15 hrs and sounds worse than my 20 year old petrol Mower think it's going back. And is Chinese assembled in Germany

    • @sun-sea-solar
      @sun-sea-solar  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would agree, it's definitely not German made. I'll do some updated videos in a few days. With an oil change, it might sound different. But I suspect it won't last 6 months.

      @@sun-sea-solar I've checked oil it's still clean no bits of metal or dirt in it checked spark plug no sooty or signs of fuel . A friend who works at a hire shop has said it's faulty and shouldn't be surging like that and it should be running at a steady rate. And only increase. Revs when under load.
