Awesome can't wait for this game! I was hoping they would release this month, but I understand the competition! This would have been head to head with Alan Wake 2! Survival Horror is now my favorite genre in games!

Yeah, seems like some people are expecting a shooter. So far from what we've seen it's mostly puzzles, dialogue, atmosphere etc, etc.
Fine by me, but those expecting RE4 action are gonna be dissapointed im guessing.
@@datatsushi2016 If they're expecting a shooter from a survival horror it's their problem, RE4 is an action "horror" title, not a survival horror. It's time for people to leave alone horror games and go play something else, cause this genre is about atmosphere, exploration and puzzles, if they don't like it nobody is forcing them to play it, there's plenty of shooters out there!
@@simo4108 Finally someone that understood survival horror. Aside from 0, original trilogy, and 7, RE is mostly third person shooter with monster. Survival horror 'fans' pushes that ideology to other game like The Evil Within and Alan Wake, causing polarizing experience told by two differents side
The facial expressions and some textures are a bit old gen, but the atmosphere looks great. Can't wait to try it out!
This is what I'm struggling with... Especially after Alan wake 2. Comparatively the character models and facial animations just seem... Like you said, last gen. But the atmosphere of done right will easily make me forget about that
Feels to me most animations could use some work. The shooting, in specific, looks rather weird - seems like the animation skips a couple of frames transitioning back to the default state.

can't agree more. just look at the green dress from the girl in the middle of the trailer. just seems a bit off.
@@alkohallick2901 We as consumers don't need to do better. We are spending money hoping that someone would be able to produce a product worth of time, and this heaping pile of shit ain't it. I don't need to be a chef to tell a chef to fuck off serving slop on a plate, I don't need to be a game developer to give them a middle finger for burning capital on shit games.

I like how the letters are actually read to you with what I assume is the person who wrote the letter. Its a nice call back to the original games, and its also useful for people like me that have issues reading large walls of text which tends to result in me skipping them.
This looks really good. Nice to see them taking the series back to where it all started, and the acting and music are great
Reminded me of The Sinking City. I really liked that game, despite its flaws.
This is REALLY GOOD! I paused it halfway to avoid any Spoilers but it reminds me of L.A. Noire in New Orleans (Kind of has a "True Blood" Feeling as well)
I'm SO excited for this! The original Alone In The Dark is the first video game I ever 'played' (more like backseat driving, since I was a toddler when it came out) so it's always had a special place in my heart. And this looks to be a faithful but fresh reboot! Please, PLEASE let it be as good as it looks!

Downgrade? Nah. More like an upgrade. Enviroments and characters look a lot better. (Except the lady in the god awful looking green dress.)

This is going to be great. Even if the graphics arent on par with RE (weird comparison), the strength of a good horror are in its atmosphere. Music, environments, intrigue.
Yeah I really don't understand why they do that comparison... I mean RE has a mega budget and is a AAA game... this isn't... It's really not fair to expect the same graphics! The graphics is amazing for a studio of Pieces Interactives size!!!
RE honestly doesn't even look THAT much better to me.

@@maltehenryk1409 I totally agree and don't understand what everyone is complaining about :-) Because this looks great if you ask me and the small things I can see I understand since there is a huge budget difference between AAA and other games... If this sells well they might get a better budget for doing another one! And further on the ones complaining and talking about games with better graphics... Yeah cool with great graphics if you have powerful and new computers and so on... I played Forspoken on my computer... Love it... but have to lower the quality and graphics otherwise it laggs and crash and there are glitches all the time... And that really sucks... Lower graphics but working is better in my book :-)
Not a fan of the constant talking when something happens. It takes away immersion from the player. There's no reason a character would talk during a scary situation. This game is supposed to be scary.
Agreed though Call of Cthulhu 2004 also had this but still one of the scariest games to date.

I'm not quite a fan of the characters gasping every time they get scared. Everything else is magnific. Looking forward to its release :)
They are paying a lot for the voice actors, so I guess this is a natural choice
Alone in the Dark created a new genre, Resident Evil coppied it, then later Alone in the Dark coppied it with New Nightmare, yeats later they would copy it again with the 360/PS3 Alone in the Dark but this time with RE4, years later theyre copying RE2 Remake , tell me im wrong

The HUD is pretty bad. The item selector would be better if it was to disappear after selecting the item. wtf this HUD is so big

I love this new trailer! It looks amazing!! Too bad though that some people don't understand the difference with a AAA title like RE and this when it comes to budget, size of team and resources... This is amazing and I would say at least near if not even fully AAA quality, but with a smaller budget and team... And if they could do this with a limited budget just think what they can do if this sells good and they get a AAA budget for a follow up! The team at Pieces has done an amazing job! This is really good and I'm really hyped for this game!!!

The original Alone in the Dark inspired the original Resident Evil. Now, the Resident Evil 2 - 4 remakes have inspired the Alone in the Dark Remake. We've come full circle.
only difference is Resident Evil ended up as the most popular between the two both times

I liked the atmosphere of the game but gameplay/combat seems need a bit more work. This will probably be the best Alone in the Dark game for last 15 years anyway.

Everything looks like a solid 9/10 except everyone's eyeballs, both their modelling and their animation, they're so dead and soulless, they could really be improved and uplift the whole experience.

Way too much talking. I knew there would be a lot of cutscenes, but even during gameplay characters can't stop talking. I hope there'll be an option to silence them. It ruins the atmosphere.
I don't see the sense of humor and creativity of the originals as well. I really liked how you had to find other ways to dispatch the enemies, like using mirrors or a bowl of soup, in the original. This one seems to rely a lot on basic combat, like The New Nightmare did.
Hopefully I'll be wrong when the game releases, but it's looking very generic right now.

Hopefully this game will turn out to be good, and hopefully it looks better at release than it looks in this bit of gameplay as some of the textures (lady's dress for example) look terrible. It also seems to be missing alot of it's lighting. I remain hopeful.
Looks good but the walking animations are kinda jank and static. Idk about the monster design either.

Technically the 2008 game was a sequel to the original trilogy, only ignoring The New Nightmare.

Buying it on release, i wish it would come out already but Alan Wake 2 scared them. At least this will come out on disk unlike AW2.

David is a great actor, but he doenst fit the role. The graphics, atmosphere and scenario looks good, but the characters for some reasons are weird. Another weird thing is the the shooting moments, it doenst look natural, fix pls

I'm so happy to see another addition of my favorite horror franchise. It looks great and the characters seem likable. Can't wait!
This is what I've missed in survival horror. Linearity in the gameplay, no mechanics, no confusing, ambiguous plot points. Just a point A to B action. It may sound boring but that's what a game should feel like for me. (I'm obviously bitter about Alan Wake 2 being all over the place with the messages and the story)
I’m buying this when it comes on ps5 I played the demo so far I’m intrigued
So far this game looks nice but from what I have seen, it appears to have very little to do with the original. If they did not call it Alone in the Dark, I would have never guessed it was a remake/ reimagining of that game.
The color scheme of the game is very much in the spirit of the original, as is the general atmosphere of 20s Louisiana. Emily mostly looks like herself from the original. Edward looks like who he was in the second and third games - a slightly sullen, sarcastic detective (just not the redhead). Then there's Jeremy, who is also obsessed with the Dark Man, just as he was in the first game. The new Derseto feels pretty good. I think it's a pretty good reimagination so far.
Except it's literally a remake of the first 3 games. The protagonists, the settings, even many of the side characters return from the original.

All people have forgotten that Alone in the Dark is the father of Survival Horror. Long before Resident Evil and Silent Hill appeared.
