I just found your channel and I’m sooooo grateful for all your contexts. You are amazing at lecturing as well. Thank you so much for making it all so much easier
Amazing way to simplify such difficult topics. Your demonstration is so perfect. Every thing just sticks to mind. Thank you so much Dr Ryan. I am so grateful. Love and respect from India.
Your drawings really make it easier to remember and to understand everything! Thank you for your hard work! P.S.: Don't be lazy guys and draw with Dr. Ryan! :D
You are saving my life, really thank you. I am struggling with the ORE yet you are here to help me with your videos. Do you have a video of oral histology Dr?
Such a great presentation. Thank you soooooo much. I've studied this over and over and I'm starting to get to grips with a tough subject. It's really impacted my diagnostics, so thank you again 😁
thank you very much for this video and for the entire channel, you have a wonderful content. I have a question: in the beginning of the video you mentioned that secondary spaces are infected due to spread from a primary/secondary space, but when you get to explaining every space individually you added odontogenic sources of infection for secondary spaces! can you please explain this point?
When treating a fascial space infection due to odontogenic origin do you remove the tooth immediately or do you incise and drain the infection and then wait to remove the tooth or do you give antibiotics and wait before removing the tooth?
parapharyngeal space is a secondary space but gets infected by 3rd mandibular molar. shouldnt it be infected by a fasical space instead? like periorbital space that gets infected by canine space
Hey great video. Just want to confirm the boundaries of parapharyngeal space. Here is says Masticator space anteriorly. Shouldn't it be pterygomandibular space anteriorly?
Dear Dr.Ryan, What would be the right answer for the question...which space infection would affect the mediastinum? Thank you... very very helpful video. 🙏
That's an interesting question! For facial cellulitis, I would actually opt for either a CBCT or MRI to best visualize the extent of soft tissue infection.
I need your help PLEASE! my little sister is having an infection on her neck and it's mentioned that it's so risky :( I just wanna know if you can check her medical documents to see if there is anything we can do about it. PLEASE 🙏
I am sorry to hear about the infection. I am not able to offer medical advice in this way, so please seek out a medical professional to follow up for a diagnosis and potential treatment. I wish you all the best!
@@mentaldental thank you for your response! We're still waiting for the results of the biopsy (she did it twice because the doctors couldn't figure out where it came from ) . Can you just tell me if there is hope for her to survive this infection ? All the family is panicking
Facial cellulitis is a diffuse infection involving the deep layers of facial skin. It can have an odontogenic origin (particularly in kids), but it more often has an extraoral origin like an infected cut or scratch.
10:27 Quick correction! This slide should read orbicularis oculi not orbicularis oris.
😂

Very informative !!!
Revising your pharma videos !!!
Thank you Harpreet! Good to see you again in the comments, it’s been a while 😊
Wonderful video 💝
tysm but note: the masticator space pic you show is the right side of the patient; not left.
AMAZING .... thank you so much
I'm trying to remember the fasia's names and I came up with this: INVESTING PRETEC BUCCuse PHARmaceutical PREVent CAROTID HEAlTH
parapharyngeal space is a secondary space but gets infected by 3rd mandibular molar. shouldnt it be infected by a fasical space instead? like periorbital space that gets infected by canine space
thank you ❤
Great job
Hi Dr, what’s the difference between odontogenic origin of facial cellulitis and fascial space infection?
Great video
Thank you so much
Thank you!
Too helpful thank u doc 🌼🌹
Thank you so much for this! Do you have a link to the powerpoint slides at all?
You’re welcome! Yes, please visit our website at www.mentaldental.com/faq to learn how to get the slides! 😊

Amazing thank you!
Hey great video. Just want to confirm the boundaries of parapharyngeal space. Here is says Masticator space anteriorly. Shouldn't it be pterygomandibular space anteriorly?
I have a question. The Danger space and the Prevertebral space, those are the same thing, right?
Dear Dr.Ryan,
What would be the right answer for the question...which space infection would affect the mediastinum? Thank you... very very helpful video. 🙏
Both the retropharyngeal and danger spaces have continuity with the mediastinum.
@@mentaldental thank you sir!
Thank you so much! 😊
Are these videos good to watch if I want to become a dental hygienist?
Sure thing! Thanks for subscribing and welcome to the channel 😊
The 5 cardinal signs you talked about, are they of infection or inflammation?
Inflammation, which is the body’s response to infection.
@@mentaldental Ok. Thanks
Hey Dr. Ryan, I have a question: If a patient has a fascial space infection that turns into cellulitis, is it best to take a pano or a PA?
That's an interesting question! For facial cellulitis, I would actually opt for either a CBCT or MRI to best visualize the extent of soft tissue infection.
Quick question. Why didn't you mention more in depth about paravertebral space? Thanks for your videos Dr.!
Prevertebral*
Only reason is because it's not what I would consider "high yield information" for the board exam!
Eagle syndrome Surgical treatments u do ?
Mistake at 10:35 orbicularis oris is muscle at the mouth not the eyes
Does the infection of the masseteric/ submass can happen by both maxillar or mandibular impacted 3rd molar?
thank u
Love it
The anterior border lateralpharyngeal space is masseeter space or masticator space? Thank you Rayan
Masticator space, of which submasseteric or masseteric is a space.
In periorbital space- isn’t it suppose to be between orbicularis oculi and not oris?
Yes, thank you for the correction!
