Cory Berglar had a rough day riding our ramps playing BK in five different BMX games and it did not end well for him! they played three games of "Ad on" and two "Games Of Bike" but we also filmed Matty Cranmer as he attempts to build a BMX bike frame out of scrap metal! I also challenged myself for the final time to see if I can drive a manual transmission car before I purchase a new project car.
Scotty get a car that has paddle shifters. That way you can get the best of both worlds. You can have the auto so you can drive safely but paddle shift to get that manual shift vibe. Yes it's not the exact same but I think that would be a great middle ground for you man!
true and a lot of autos now shift faster than manuals so they can be pretty good

I'm having a really rough day, well, a really rough couple months actually, depression wise and all that. Depression has been beating me up lately... but I'll tell ya, when he uploads a video, for those 13 minutes or so that I'm watching the video (today it was longer and that was really nice) it's almost like I feel a little bit better. Sure, it doesn't CURE my depression, and it certainly doesn't make me feel 100%, jump up and down, smile and laugh, all better, but, for those 13 minutes or so I'm watching his new video, it helps. I feel just a bit better. It's like I start to forget my feelings. I don't feel as depressed, I don't feel as numb, I don't feel as angry, watching his videos truly does help. I'm so thankful for that. If there's misspellings or poor grammar or typos or whatever I apologize, I didn't proof read this. Anyway Scotty, thank you for helping me push through life, keep on rippin.

Scotty, with what I’ve seen you accomplish, I 110% believe that you could drive manual again. I think you should invest in a driving sim setup for PC or even a console. With pedals and a shifter.
They can be so realistic anymore, and over enough time and practice, I think you would become comfortable again. And eventually you can decide to try it on public roads again. Worth a try!
This is actually a really good idea!! I had a Fanatec and it was SOOOOO realistic the brakes and clutch felt just like a real standard.
My guy is walking around and riding a bike after breaking his neck. There is nothing you can't do Scotty. You remind me of that every day I watch these videos. I believe you will drive manual again some day, even if you choose not to own one.

I had the SAME exact WRX as Matt identical lol. I sold it and bought a 2016 5.0. I still miss the rex but gosh you can’t beat the power of the stang. But for snow the rex is just downright amazing!!!! Crazy seeing the interior again.
Scotty. You should reach out to Rob Parsons when it comes to handicap driving. Man is a beast of a drifter and only uses his hands. Quite the innovator and manufacturer. I bet he could help! Awesome content all over YT of him!
Scotty, how about getting a racing simulator so you can practice. Granted it would be a game you're playing, but it would get you used to it again.

I definitely could never do a Prius. I enjoy cars way too much to buy one. I always drive manuals but it's becoming a dying art. I have to hunt to even find a nice one anymore. I refuse to buy any model of car that is super popular. Even if I get a common brand, I have an uncommon model... Like my 2006 Mazdaspeed6. They were only built for 2 years and only 2,,000 were made each year, so it's an uncommon car that wasn't seen a lot and is rarely ever seen in the wild now. I still have it even though I bought a newer car. People NEVER expected that to be a turboed sedan stock and it was such a fun sleeper. I never touched the body so it kept the same black sedan look. That kept it fun.
If you don't think you'll be safe for yourself or others, that answers your question. Unfortunately, you just likely aren't ready for a manual, at least not yet. Hopefully you'll continue to progress and you'll feel comfortable with it in the future.
It almost brought a tear to my eye hearing the defeat in Scott’s voice after realizing its too dangerous for him to drive manual, but I agree with everyone saying that paddle shifters are a great idea! It will provide that feeling of driving the cars RPMS to the limits without all of the footwork involved. Keep pushing your limits Scott! It’s gotten you a long way and will continue to!
2 words: Paddle Shifters! You can put them on ANY car you buy! I grew up living across form a semi pro Drag Racer who was a paraplegic and he had the coolest cars and every one of them were set up with Paddles! I am talking about 800-1000hp GTO's, Camaro's, Chevells's, Funny Cars, Top Fuel Dragsters you name it! You can't take the driver out of their love for driving the car! Look into it Scott I am sure Rick could help you mod any car you want to switch over to that setup!

gotta make sure its analog and not digital since there is latency and any time gain is safer in a car! maybe also make sure its infrared capable since its usually dark around the pedals

Haven't even finished watching but just watched you trying to drive manual. I am unfortunately in the same club where I use two feet to drive an automatic. Our issues are very different from onset but we are are kind of dealing with the same thing. That said I met a new neighbor this morning taking my dog out and he was doing his best to just Olly. Super cool kid and I realized his trucks were way too loose. I told him I would be back with a skate tool and he was shocked that I actually showed up. Old school Alien skate tool, tightened up his trucks and he went from pure frustration to a good 4-5 inch. ~20 minutes of showing him foot placement he almost landed a kick flip. The tool is his now. After taking a break from following ritually and seeing Scotty hop in a manual car is just inspiring and beyond bittersweet to watch on TH-cam let alone be standing there beside him witnessing the work he has put In & how far this man has come. His spirit is so hopeful to anyone struggling with anything In life. Reminds me of a family friend of my dads who is in a wheelchair still to this day. Scotty autos rule at the drag strip and you can still shift an auto like a manual and you don't have to worry about the clutch😎 I've got my fingers crossed this new car has plans for a 1000hp+ big turbo V8, 4 link, trans brake 😅
Hit up Chairslayer (Rob Parsons) and see if you can set up a way for you to be able to convert a car to manual. He's known in drifting (you probably already know) and his lower half no longer functions due to a bmx accident but that didn't stop his love for drifting.
Hit uo Chairslayer for some hand control ideas. He drifts a 600hp 180sx with a custom hand control setup.
The WRX is what brought me to your channel. BMX is what kept me coming back. Tell Matt to take the negative side of the battery off an reset the ECU.

Don't be disheartened Scotty! Even people that do still can't drive stick :P and while new cars all not going to have gears anymore. I get it totally though, I've only ever had manual cars.
You can just hook up a backup camera in the car. And a light by the pedals. But some of the cameras have auto shutoffs if you go a certain speed. So you don't want one of those. Also. You can look into sim racing rig. And practice with that. And if you crash no problem.

Hey Scotty I know you said you can’t do manual but hear me out im sure you know exactly what this is but you can convert manuals to sequentially now there’s several things im sure you aware I’d such as having it have paddle shifters mounted after it converted from manual or even if it’s just shifting up and down with the shift knob
Scotty you could use one of the tiny cameras you use for filming tricks and relay they video to your phone. Mounting and lighting would need to be figured out but I think it would be easier than FaceTiming two phones 👍🏻
Sand! Fill tubes with sand before bending if no heat available and ZERO kinks in the metal as helps with distortion. Kinks are from certain parts stretching while others need to shrink or contract.

If you want to make small bends in a piece of pipe (square or round) without a bender, you can just cut pie cuts out of one side of the pipe, bend the cut closed and weld it back together. You can even make a radius by doing a bunch of them in succession. Try that for the chainstays on the custom bike

theres nothing wrong with running handlebars for years. or replacing broken ones with old ones. they shouldnt break in the first place. admittedly the way matty rides the do take a lot of abuse, because he is a skilled rider and rides a lot. but for most people, running the same handlebars for 20 years is fine.
my cheap GT bike broke the crank arm, but i welded it up, looks a bit messy but i would rather do that than buy new parts.
Many people coping with disabilities use hand controls to maintain independence, look into systems like Menox. There's always a way.

Scotty you should get a wheel setup for a console/pc (for games) and you could practice getting used to a manual again, they aren't too pricey and might be a good middle step?
Scotty, why not just try to drive automatic with your right foot first. Gas and brake all with right foot and get used to that. Then get in matty's car again. It may be easier.
SCOTTY. There are these systems for hand gas and brakes, i bet u can handle 3 levers on the steering wheel right? clutch gas and brake.

You should get a racing wheel and pedal to practice driving manual, idk if it will help much, but it’s worth a try. Also super excited to see some cool car content regardless of which transmission is in it

Hey Scotty, there is a way for you to drive manual cars again if you have the funds and really want to invest the time of getting it installed. I would recommend to research manual cars for paraplegics and u will find a manual system that should work for you.
Hey Scotty I’ve been watching your videos since I was 11 and I have a tip for you so you can get the manual version, You can put it in neutral then use your left foot to slow down.
Square tubing isn't a great thing to bend like that, it'll pinch and break on the corners as you saw and can break really easily. Definitely gotta use round steel tubing for that kind of stuff.
Get an rs3 capable of 900hp and very reliable fun and auto… but I’m guessing ur lookin at a hellcat lol
