Small Town USA. Moved here about 4 years ago to retire. Left the big city to the small town of HUBBARD. LOVE it the people are friendly close nit neighborhood. I grew up in a town smaller than Hubbard and had to move back to that way of life. People care about each other. Some folks have lived their entire life in this town and know the history because the lived it. LOVE it here and have no intention of ever moving again. Nice to walk inito businesses and have the owners welcome you by name and ask how you and your family (by name) are doing. Find that in a big busy town. You drove by my house and Looks like I need to mow the yard! Thanks for enjoying the peacful town of Hubbard and a glimps of todays version of yesteryear.
We love small town Texas. We grew up in Ellis County in a small town. We are looking for that again. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please subscribe if you haven't. We have over 150 videos of Texas towns and cities. We plan on visiting every dot on the Texas map. There is plenty more to come. #swervyfam Ken
@@HaveKayaksWillTravel At one time I lived about 5 miles out of Waxahachie in Ellis County. Out by the old Cotten gin off of 876 if you know where that is. Had 15 acres cattle and all the other farm yard critters. I worked in Dallas and drove it daily for 7 years. Really enjoyed the place where I lived. Waxahachie just got to big and I got a promotion and had to move to San Antonio. Sold the place in Waxahachie to make the move. BUT CAME BACK here ASAP! Living in San Antonio cured me. I grew up in what is now called Seven-Pints I mean Seven Points (Intersection of 3 dirt roads and 2 blacktop Farm to Market roads). where at the intersection there were 7 roads.Long before it was even a town. Went to school in Mabank where there were two schools, across the street from each other. One (High School) for 9-12 and the other (Lower School) for 8 and below. The small town of Gun Barrel wasn't even a wide spot in the Road. Cedar Creek lake wasn't even thought of. Several so clled DOTS disapeared under Cedar Creek Lake. Our nearest neighbor was 1.5 miles away. If we had 3 cars drive by our house it was busy day and someone was probably lost! Family raised Black Angus Cattle and American quarter horses. Dad got down in his health and the farm (750 acres) was more than he could take care of. I had just won a free all expense paid trip to Viet-Nam and was not there to help. They sold it and move to Wacko, I mean WACO. where they both passed on. I returned from VN with no place to call home. So I moved around a lot. Lived in some of them DOTS you talk about. Some places were't even a dot. The "Welcome To and Thanks For Coming" were on the same post! Texas is a wonderful town. I travled all over the world during my time in the military seen some bautiful places But came back here. No Place on earth like Texas. Enjoy your travels, I have no doubt you will meet some very interesting folks along the way. Besides there are only two types of people in this world, Them that ARE from TEXAS and them that WISH they were. Greg
I grew up in this little town! In the 80s and 90s it had 1700-- 1900 people! Loved Hated it growing up 😂 moved to the Waco area for 20yrs now and back and loving it!
Same as us, hated our little town growing up. We came back as soon as we could. Now our town is exploding with growth and we are looking for another small town.
My wife and I will be leaving the suburbs of San Antonio and moving to 20 acres in Hubbard, Tx off Navarro Mills lake. Change of pace but looking forward to escaping city life and becoming a homesteader! Cheers
That sound Awesome. Navarro mills is a great fishing lake and 20 acres sounds about perfect for a homestead. Best of luck. My wife and I love Hill and Navarro county. 😃

Elon Musk was not the designer or creator for Tesla. It was two other guys Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning who started the company and he basically pushed them out of it. Awesome video though, I'm thinking about moving here myself. Gonna check some land out there tomorrow.
@charliefortson244 I did not get to talk with anyone. Something about Tehuacana draws me in. Out of over 250 town videos, Tehuacana is one of my favorite places so far.
