This topic has been on my heart for a long time now. I've always been pro-lgbt but since I started to get closer with God and my faith grew deeper, it's like my entire mindset changed on this matter. My sister is Christian but also lgbt, and when she asked if I supported it I said no. She got mad and said that's not Christlike. When I told her that I can't support something that goes against God, she told I am homophobic because I don't support it. I told her that just because I am against it DOES NOT mean I'm condemning anyone.
I know I will face many things like these, as I am only still 16, and will surrounded by people who identify with the lgbt community.
Please pray for me to respond in a Godly way to sensitive matters like these

You said nothing wrong. Many in the lgbtq+ has been hurt by the church for centuries. Anything that’s perceived, as attacking them they will respond. In the West, one’s sexuality’s seen as someone’s identity. To say that actions associated with that is a sin (Rm 1), they perceive it as a threat to their existence. But, continue to show grace to her, keep the door open, be there for her. You can’t change anyone only God can.

And love is warning them of what will happen if they don't turn from their sin and trust in Jesus Christ. Hate is accepting their sin knowing the punishment that they will suffer for it. True love tells hard truth. That unless they repent and come to Jesus Christ, there will be gnashing of teeth and no rest in the spiritual death that is to come. Love warns them, that they may be pulled to safety from the destruction that is to come

Love is not the issue. Romans 1 "For this cause God gave them up to vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another... I can love gays but that is what the Bible says. Call it homophobic. The belief is that it is unnatural and take up the argument with the Apostle Paul. So was the Apostle Paul not a real Christian? If a Christian sees a chain smoker, does mean that he does not let him know that he could get lung cancer or takes cocaine, will he not warn that person? So yes, I would not hate that person but I might show this is what the Bible says. Is that hate? Let them read it.

I am an 88 year old gay man who has never had a gay relationship my whole life because of the confused LGBT message I got from my church.
Yes, I was married to a woman for 18 years, had four children, and, of course, it broke up because of whom I actually was!
While I am happy with my life and the direction I took with it, if I had a child who was gay, I would want a more "Jesus" approach to acceptance.
Unfortunately our churches merely tolerate gay people and until they step away from their mere "toleration" approach,
our churches will continue their "anti-Jesus" approach to outreach!

    Yes, love them.
People confuse loving them with accepting their sins as okay. That's not loving them, that's just ignoring their problems.
Does God ignore our sin or does he address it and then help us heal? He helps us heal. But he also doesn't shower hatred on us because of our sin. He lovingly guides us to himself so he can heal our brokenness. It takes submission. And submission in that way cannot be forced. Only God can change hearts. Only God can take a broken soul and make it whole again. So let us pray for them and share God's word with them. But know that God is the only one who can change their hearts and minds. That's not something we can do.

Because telling them that sin or wickedness is good is not loving your enemies. Sure your can be thoughtful in how to present how it is. (Matthew 10:16 "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.) If you love your enemies then you tell them what will save them from hell. Don't sugarcoat sin.

The question is: what does the Bible say about this subject and how did Paul tell the Corinthian church to deal with sexual sin?

    • @ashleycheung2315
      @ashleycheung2315 4 ปีที่แล้ว +27

Hmm I might be mistaken but isn’t Paul talking to Corinthian believers who are indulging in sexual sin? I think we ought to treat non believers who indulge in sexual sin and professing believers who indulge in sexual sin differently.
The reason I make this argument is that Jesus often treats non believers who indulge in sexual sin by pushing them gently towards the gospel such as in John 8:1-11 where there was a woman convicted of sexual immorality.
However, when Paul talks to the corinthian church, he is talking to people who claim to be believers and hence he must be more strict and tells them to have nothing to do with people who claim to be believers but still indulge in sexually immorality.
“I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people- not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.””
      ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭5:9-13
And so I think when dealing the LGBT community, we ought to be loving and gentle and push them to the gospel rather than condemning them unless they are claiming to be believers which then we should do the latter.
Lol hopefully im understanding your comment correctly and that im not making a comment on something you also agree with haha

Our true enemy is the dark force of Satan. So many people do things that please the enemy, and not God. They act against followers of Jesus the Messiah, not necessarily willingly, but because they are blinded by this evil, fallen world. We love all people because we are not any better than they are. Not one is righteous (see Romans 3:10), which means there is nothing to lord over anyone. Our own kind is not our enemy, rather, a form of earthly opposition use by the enemy of our hearts, Satan (aka "the devil"). We love people, even those who oppose us, because we are all subject to God's wrath because of sin. Those who realize they are flawed, sinful, and have no eternal life in our own power, can be saved by grace. Jesus called all to repent (change your mind, in this case, to view sin as evil and recognize we are in need of salvation), and ask for salvation. God loves all people, and wants us all to live for Him and be forgiven, saved and heaven bound.

Homosexuals are turned off by most Christians because we (speaking from experience) would rather judge non-christians for their sin than let the spirit kill our sin. Once He begins killing sin in us, we will begin to look appealing to those lost in their sin. John's recent sermon Make War: a pastor and his people in the battle against sin, really seems to apply here.

When all that doesn't work I was told I was not welcome to even attend church. What's more I never was welcome to attend. I am not sexually active. I am not broken because God created me gay.

God is not the author of confusion, nor does God make anyone sin. Homosexuality is a sin, and the Bible states so in many places. We must not identify with our sins, but find our identity in Christ instead. A Christian who was a liar doesn't say 'I'm a liar Christian" nor does a Christian who formerly practiced adultery say "I'm an adulterer Christian". "I'm a gay Christian shouldn't ever be said." If you are a Christian, your identity is in Christ.
      1 Corinthians 6: 9-11
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. • @Grokford
      @Grokford 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Queer Christians are also children of God and full humans worthy of love and dignity.
If you’re concerned about church responsibility and responsibility within your community then there are two scenarios.
The first and most likely is that the Queer Christians do not consider the anti-Queer interpretation of scripture as valid(as I don’t). In that scenario you are not going to be able to convict someone of wrongdoing if they have no sense that they are doing anything wrong. Christian history shows us this, people often resist even minor conversions on individual principles even under pain of death.
As Martin Luther said: “unless I can be convinced by scripture and good sense, I can do no other.”
People are going to live out their convictions.
So you have two potential options, splitting the church and ostracization over interpretations isn’t going to change people’s minds so you can either present your interpretation and leave it at that or you and your church community can engage in an interpretational discussion.
In the case of a different scenario where the Queer person doesn’t care what the Bible says then you should be careful because there could be many reasons why. It could simply be an uncertainty of faith as is common with many new Christians or new members of a church and any heavy hand on doctrine could be harsh, unwelcoming and counter productive. Many people come into churches unsure of many things and a theology lesson can often leave a bad taste in people’s mouth and push them away. So approaching that on a case by case basis is preferred though it’s not unreasonable to explain your beliefs so long as you aren’t trying to impose that in a way that feels targeted.

He told us plainly that nobody goes to the father but by him, and if we reject him, he will reject us before the father. 2 - Calling myself a Christian and as such, being entrusted to open the door and welcome ALL who come seeking him, only to be guilty of slamming the door in their faces saying they do not belong because they con't conform to my ideals. It is not respecting a gay person to tell them that the only way to heaven is to deny their essence and very core of their being. To tell a gay person that they must never ever fall in love with the person they desire, to tell them that they must live a life of celibacy (which leads to loneliness and depression) until death. And that if they get to heaven after that life of complete isolation and lack of a relationship with another human being, that when they get to heaven, they will have to continue being alone is unfair to the extreme.
Ask any married couple, "How do you two view life in heaven..?" They will always tell you about sharing it with "Their" children and "each other" ... That isn't even a possible for a person who has zero desire or affection or connection to the opposite sex. To tell them that all your remaining years on earth must be void of what we are put on this earth to do. "love one another" is insane. and to tell them after death and going to heaven for "being an incomplete person void of relationship and the God given gift of sex" That they must now look forward to an eternity in heaven with more denying your most loving feelings about a special someone" . That sounds like an eternity in hell to me. I cannot imagine not being able to love who my heart calls me to in heaven" . Is this what they mean by "in heaven as it is on earth"..
As a child, I had not acted on any homosexual feelings. (no sex) . but God allowed me to be bullied every single day. I was clinically depressed and suicidal because of these bullies. If Heaven ask us to deny love for another, are bullies in heaven going to be waiting to put me down. No one ever addresses this very real question. How is an eternity in heaven going to be for someone who is attracted to the same sex, but never acts on it and or committing the sexual sin..? To me it sounds like a continuation of the extreme loneliness I experience on earth.
If I"m going to be alone in heaven, without my beloved one that I spent 60 years with on earth. Who am I going to get a sense of contentment from.? Who am I going to talk to in heaven..?
what is heaven going to be like for the "good, abstinent gay servant of Christ..?" The bible talked about eunuchs, made in the womb, made by man, made by self. Nowhere in the bible does it say that eunuchs are an abomination. (is it the distinction that eunuchs do not commit the sex sin..?) . What about the sin of self mutilation ..?(of the temple of Christ)
I would rather enjoy all the happiness, companionship, learning, growing in a good relationship with someone I admire and love, (for next 50 years) . Than give it up only to expect it will be just the same in heaven. BTW Christopher the scientist know the cause of AIDS and it isn't HIV. HIV is a retrovirus and they attack hard, you either die or heal. It is impossible for a retrovirus to lie dormant for 10 years. Ask any honest virologist. AIDS is a syndrome my friend. Syndromes are a series of symptoms. Did you know that developed AZT (dr Gallo) to be used to treat Cancer patients. (funny thing) all ... let me repeat.. ALL of the patients developed kaposi sarcoma. (those little purple/black lesions) . Just one "AIDS symptom" caused by AZT. INTERFERON (which is chemo therapy) destroys the micro-biome and that is where your immune system resides. So now we have (2) symptoms being caused by the drugs they say will treat the disease. Since HIV is not the cause, and they are giving HIV patient that cause them to develop the symptoms in the syndrome called AIDS. What do you make of that.
Go to Pubmed.gov and look up the 100's of studies on HIV/AIDS/HepB vaccine. Search: HepB vaccine linked to onset of AIDS.... Don't look up link to HIV because the scientific community knows that HIV is not the cause. Gallo is hailed as the biggest fraud in the Viral/Medical community. It doesn't exist. Millions of people died because they had been convince that "HIV" was going to eventually kill them. So these victims took the prescribed treatments that led to each of the symptoms that eventually killed them. This is a culling of man. That excludes GMO's because they do not bear a usable seed that will germinate. No grains because they cause intestinal permeability. ONLY FRESH LOCAL ORGANIC PRODUCE AND HERBS IF YOU WANT TO HEAL. Rob K to address your concerns about heaven, I think you are completely misunderstanding what heaven is and will be like. Here in this life we are plagued with sin, in Jeremiah God says that the human heart is desperately sick, we are all sinners and deserve Gods wrath, however we have a great hope because Jesus' death on the cross took God's wrath off us along with our sin and gave us the right to become children of God! Now all of us still suffer the disease of sin in this life until death or until Christ return when our salvation is revealed. Not to say that we should live by sin, not at all! But by living in Christ we can rule over our sin and have life to the FULLEST and he will sanctify us in the spirit day by day and be our help in our struggles. However one day God will heal us completely from the disease of sin and we will be free from it once and for all. Free to serve God and we will desire what he desires and everything we do will be out of love for our God! People in heave will also not be married but we will all be the children of God as brothers and sisters with our Father. None of us will have a husband or wife, nor do I think we will desire to do so. There also certainly will be no bullies in heaven because we will all love God with all our heart soul and mind and we will be free from our sin to completely love each other as well. Bullies in heaven is unthinkable. Loniness in heaven is unthinkable. Sinful desires, guilt or shame will be foreign to heaven. We will know fully and be fully known by God and all God's people! Now Jesus came that you and me can have life to the fullest, eternal life, which begins here on earth. He prescribed a way of living that is best for his people and is right. Not that will always be easy but he will help you to live in his ways. God did not speak to you because what you say is contrary to his word. A homosexual lifestyle is contrary to what he said and so is contrary to the fullness of life you can have in Christ. Homosexuality is sin and it would be hateful in fact to lead you astray from that fact because I know and believe that the life God gives is the only way to give you complete joy and the only way you will be completely satisfied and have the eternal life he gives in this life and in the life to come.

So like the Eunuchs that were made in the womb, gay people that were made in the womb, must deny their desire to share their lives with the person they love and live a completely lonely and sexless life to get into heaven..? and not have thoughts and desires because that will keep them out of heaven..? I'm curious about the thoughts and desires my heterosexual counterpart has when he looks a a woman and says, "I want to spend my life with this person and there has to be a sexual chemistry..? Won't those desires and thoughts that lead him to want marriage cause him to sin..? "He who even looks at a woman with lust in his heart has sinned.." Why is it that straight men are praised for desiring a woman..? (a clear sin) (why does the church rejoice at the announcement of plans to get married and have children, to have children you have to have thought about sex with a woman) . that is sinful. Why is that ok for the heterosexual and not the homosexual to think about sex that leads to marriage..? I think people are just denying reality and human emotions that come from God. There is a time for everything, says the bible. Why are the rules of love different for gay people..?

    • @joshuasatterwhite5079
      @joshuasatterwhite5079 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Rob K eunuchs are not at all the same thing as homosexuality. And yes we must deny the desires of our sinful flesh everyday, every single one of us because we are all sinners. There is also a completely clear distinction between lust and natural good sexual desire for the one you are married to. If a heterosexual, or homosexual, goes around burning with sexual desires and lust after someone who they are not married to, not that homosexual marriage is ok, then that is wrong and no one should be praising it because it is sin. However, a marriage between a man and a women and sex in that relationship is a good and wonderful gift from God and is in no way sin. I have no delusions that experiencing homosexual desires or emotions would be an extreme struggle. But the cost of following Jesus is giving everything we have. The Bible says "the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field." We must sell all we have and gain Jesus! He is the ultimate treasure and the ultimate joy!

    • @rdkuless
      @rdkuless 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

So you're saying that anyone who has never had a desire to marry a woman, and has only has a desire to marry a man must deny the desire that God said is good. It would be a sin for a homosexual to marry a woman because of the deception and lie. A homosexual cannot honestly enter a holy union with a woman if he is not attracted to her. So are you saying that Homosexuals must deny all hope of having a relationship with the only mate that they honestly feel an attraction for...? And Why would God design men to be visually attracted and then deny any kind of hope for a life long marriage and loving relationship...? Doesn't seem fair that a loving man can't follow his natural attractions. Especially if he only wants to spend his life loving another man. Isn't that the golden rule..?

Well that really depends. Love comes in many forms. But assuming you emna romantic love, here is my take.
The feeling of being comfortable with someone, and the feeling of wanting to be with that person. That is a general idea of Love. Notice how I didn't bind my definition to any genders. Now, to dive deeper, romantic love is what I said before, plus the added idea of feeling like you are yourself with that person, and you want them to be happy. That is my idea of love. If a Man and a Woman are capable of having both platonic and romantic love with each other, why can't a Man and a Man or a Woman and a Woman do the same?

Love is a complicated thing with many factors; commitment, partnership, care, aid, support. Love is a feeling and an action, the many factors are intertwined.
Love is similar to any other large familiar concept, human words lack the capacity to fully encapsulate its meaning. Much of the poetry in almost every language has a significant portion of it dedicated to love; because it’s not a mystery we see it every day, and yet we don’t understand it.
I recall the first time I fell in love, I spent a substantial amount of time worrying if I’d developed some sort of mental illness.

Being gay isn't a choice, just like being straight isn't a choice. No one wakes up one morning in their adolescence and says "You know, I find guys and girls equally attractive, but I've decided I'm going to pursue relations with the opposite sex." Our sexuality is in our DNA, just like our hand dominance and eye color.
It's good to see so many Christians opposing god's directives. Jesus never said to disregard the Old Testament's commandments, which include stoning homosexuals to death; in fact, he said quite the opposite:
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:17‭-‬19.
If you believe what's written in the Bible, then you must believe that Jesus himself said that the old law will apply "Till heaven and earth pass". Heaven and Earth are still here, so that means homosexuality remains an abomination punishable by death.
Of course, the Bible was written by folks who didn't know where the sun went at night, so you shouldn't believe it anyway, but for those of you that still do, I commend you for defying your celestial dictator's orders. The god of the Old Testament is an immoral, malicious, petty, childish jackass, so any form of defiance is a victory for humanism.
It's kinda like when the U.S. finally abolished slavery despite the fact the Bible clearly shows god is in favor of it. Heck, god himself even provides instructions on where to get your slaves, how to pass them on to your children, how badly to beat them without getting in trouble, etc. Freeing people held in bondage against their will was a big ol' "Up yours!" to the god of the Bible. We need a whole lot more of that if we're ever going to rise above archaic 1st century superstition.

Shamot...God doesn't make mistakes. We are all born sinners. But it's not wrong to call sin..'sin'. And the fact that we are born sinners is NOT God's fault. There just has to come a time that we must accept the fact that God makes the rules. I don't know why He said that homosexuality is a sin and He didn't want us to live like that, but again, He makes the rules and we have the freewill to follow and strive to live according to His will, or reject and live any way we wish.

      @gospelofthomas77thpearl22 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Dear Darinwaynec, the Jesus you look to is the one men have created. Your problem is you have only listened to preachers who use the Old Testament to put words into the mouth of Jesus. This is blasphemy of the worst kind. Jesus was the new wine that could not be put into old wine skins (OT). Jesus lived with people who were considered ‘sinners’ & unclean by the Pharisees (Jewish leaders). In doing so He taught us that we are a soul wrapped in useless flesh. When you define someone by the flesh - this includes their sexuality, you become Satan. Jesus rebuked Peter calling him Satan for thinking like men, not God. God did indeed create everything - including the LGBT Community. Genetic tests prove that homosexuality is something an individual is born with. Remember that Jesus came with a new message, one of love & acceptance. That’s why He was killed, because it challenged the Jewish hyerarchy. In His sacrifice all (perceived) sins are abolished. That’s not to say being Gay is a sin. It means nobody has the right to judge & condemn others. This would denigrate the greatest gift Jesus gave us - freedom! Those who do not understand this do the work of the satan. Peace.

    • @darinwaynec
      @darinwaynec 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@gospelofthomas77thpearl22 First off, I have listened to anointed ministers, because they are just that, anointed to preach the true word of God, but I also have learned from the Holy Spirit and let it teach me as well. I am a teacher of others now, a professor in a Bible college and I know a little something about the Bible. Jesus did teach love and not to judge but he also told us to not live in sin. Reference the woman caught in adultery...'Go and sin no more.' He embraced Mary Magdalene ,who was indeed a harlot, but He also cast 7 devils out of her. He does not want us to continue living in sin. And there comes a time that we have to look at the Bible as the gauge of what God considers righteousness and what He calls sin. You can pretend that it doesn't call homosexuality sin, but it does. It's also new testament, not just old. We have to understand that God makes the rules, we either follow them or we choose not too.

2:36 A lot of the hurt is intentional on the part of straight Chrisitans (including those not divorced{) to stand with Pharisaical pride to shout "God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican [or homosexual]." (Luke 18:11 with added phrase) to draw attention away from the myriads of divorcees sitting in church pews daily living in violation of Matt. 5:32 "whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery." Jesus is crystal clear as to what he meant in this verse. Not once does he condemn same-sex desire or couples. NOT ONCE!!!!!!!
In Matt. 8:5-13 and Luke 7:1-10, Jesus actual healed a centurian's servant. The Greek work the centurian used to describe him in παῖς (pais) which is translated as "servant." But pais does not mean “servant.” It means “lover.” In Thucydides, in Plutarch, in countless Greek sources, and according to leading Greek scholar Kenneth Dover,--an authority on ancient Greeks and their sexual lives, παῖς (pais) refers to the junior partner in a same-sex relationship. Jesus' response to the centurian was not condemnation. He praised him saying: “Truly I tell you, in no one in Israel have I found such faith. I tell you, many will come from east and west and will eat with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, while the heirs of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matt. 8:10-12) Also, Jesus "was amazed at him [the centurion], and turning to the crowd following him, he said, 'I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel.'" (Luke 7:9)

Walang masama magsabi ng salvation pero pag sabi ka ng ending ng tao
    At judgement
    Si lord na un
Wala na kayo tinira sa kamay ni lord
    Dahil nasa kamay nionword nya
    Walng masamang magsabi mali
Pero para sabihin impyerno or langit bagsak i think
Dahil hndi ikaw magsasabi kahit alam mo
Once again alam mo nabasa mo
Pero hndi padin ikaw DAPAT MAGSASABI NUN KHIT UN NALNG HAYAAN NIO SA DIOS
    AT DUN SA TAO
KC BELIEVE IT OR NOT ALAM NA DN NILA UN MISMO
DUN PALANG TINGIN MO WALANG DIOS NA UMUUSAP SA TAONG UN
    AT KUNG HNDI NYA ALAM
THE FACT NA NASABI AT NAISIP MONA
TAPOS NA UNG RESPONSIBILITY AT PAGKAKASALA MO
    HNDI MO SYA HINIKAYAT
    MALAWAK ANG PAGIGING MALI
MAS MALAWAK PADIN UNG PAGMAMAHAL NG DIOS

The bravest people are the ones that are themselves.
Typically that sentiment is applied to Queer people, especially those who brave danger to live authentically.

    Romans 1:26-27
    New International Version
26 Because of this, God gave them over(A) to shameful lusts.(B) Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.(C) 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.(D)

In Bible love them means, show them the right path.

    • @Grokford

Showing the right path is something that must be done in love. It is not the opportunity to relish the suffering of others or make their lives painful for not adhering to advice.

Ginja Ninja Good for you! 2 Corinthian 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Your proclamation and decision is between you and God. You know right from wrong, and you have made your choice, everyone here respect your choice. However, there is no guilt trip here for those standing up for righteousness after all he who knows to do right and does not do it is sinning. God has the final word for all of us.

Who said they are our enemies? What are you trying to stir up?
I would submitt that they are the enemies of God even though God loves them but must still condemn them.
As a Christian I hate sin because my God hates sin. We need to be be obvious that we reject sin, not hide and cower to it regardless of whether it offends the sinner. The world would have the Christian be tolerant and accepting to sin. Love the sinner enough to show them they are wrong, tell them the gospel truth

***** That's similar in asking why there is evil in the world. This isn't a perfect world for a reason... earth isn't heaven. And love wouldn't be real, authentic love if it was programmed. A robotic love for God would be pointless.

23.07.2015 г.
