There is a video of Lara in concert & she's about to sing this song but unbeknown to her some fans had spoken to her pianist as they had a plan. Lara had been quite ill & her relationship had broken up, so she had been through a really bad time & when the pianist began to play the audience started to sing to her but they sang "Mon t'aime" & they sang the whole song to her. The shocked look on her face when they started was crazy & she sat & cried listening to the audience show their love to her. The most emotional video I have ever seen. I cry every time I see it 😢. I love Lara & you're right about her vocals & I love Je Suis Malade & her version of Caruso is the best I've ever heard. Yes you're also right about the record contract in the USA. They treated her quite badly & would not listen to her on her creative input which caused a rift. She was already huge in Canada & Europe & knew how to sell herself but they removed her choice in what she should sing & what song should be her debut single from the album she'd made. She is a French speaker from Belgium but she has Sicilian origins, I guess that is why she speaks Italian so perfectly.
