    This is hands down the best built one I’ve seen on the market. The front door has me really really thinking hard about adding it to the arsenal.

    Too many curouts of the logo and name on the baskets and plates, which don't look to be very thick. Becauae of the constant heating, they will wear and rust and break leaving big holes charcoal into the bottom. You will have to replace them sooner than later.

    I’m considering buying the harvester from Cotton Gin. Before I dive in and buy three of them would y’all buy more than one? I’m looking to upgrade my barrels for my cooking team. After doing all my reviews it was between this one and the Gateway. I’m just sold on the front end loader of this barrel. Just looking for advice for a pull the trigger in January!

      If you’re looking at buying that many, I honestly would invest in the Harvester. I wanted to try one to see what it’s about, and we’re talking about getting another one to add to our arsenal for comps.
      I am not a paid spokesman or ambassador or any of the sorts. I’m just an average person who enjoys cooking and competing.
      The harvester holds temps great and I like the fact that they are 100% Made in the USA. Only downside, and this goes with any small business like this, they are built to order. So the turn-around time can vary, but to me it was worth the wait!
      If you are wanting to invest in a great piece of equipment, then invest in the Harvester. You won’t be disappointed.

      Thanks for the reply. This is investment I’ve been wanting to do for years. Thank you. I’m pulling the trigger in the next two weeks on the Harvesters.

      The grill grate being laser cut often burns my ribs when placed on it w/o a chicken sheet. So having the option to purchase or have them include a stainless steel rod grate. And then the baffle plate is very jagged and hard to remove. It would be better to have handles placed on the sides so it can be picked up easier.

      @@smokeytirebbq I’ve been on the fence for months about getting a drum. I’m down to Cotton Gin, Gateway, Big Poppas Smokers, and Short Rib Smokers.

    • @smokeytirebbq

      @@smokefathersbbq i went with Cotton Gin because of the easy access to add wood with the front door access. Although it is a little bit longer turn around, but it is custom made/small business supporting. The Gateway would be the second option. Also, I really like the M Grills M16 with the smoker attachment. It can be used as a drum smoker. But specifically for the drum smokers, the CGS is a good cooker and holds temps very well.

    • @smokefathersbbq
      @smokefathersbbq ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smokeytirebbq I do like the access door idea. Short Rib smokers has a door as well and little less expensive, but really unpopular online. Can’t get any direct feedback on them.

      @@smokefathersbbq another option would be the Hunsaker Drums. For me, the options I narrowed it down to were CGS, Gateway Smokers, and Hunsaker Smokers. But ultimately, I went with the CGS because, again small business company and like the front loader.
