Ooh yes, the bookshops at literature festivals can be very dangerous!! Penguin Lost (and Death and the Penguin) both sound really interesting. I'll be keeping an eye out for them.
Absolutely strongly recommend those two as a pair. For me they just capture an atmosphere so well. Even if you had no knowledge of or interest in Ukraine, they would still work as dark satires.
I cheated this evening and started British Dandies (well, some of it is about pre-Jane Austen, so it makes sense to read that part pre-Jane Austen July, right?)
Welcome back to Booktube! I just popped over as you commented on one of my videos. My Sister in law has her PHD in Slavic languages. I think she may enjoy some of the books you mentioned. Thanks for mentioning the shortened adaptation of The Hobbit film adaptation. I am excited to find it. ❤
I jumped when I suddenly heard my name! 😂 I loved the discussion about The Five, although I had already read the book when it came out. It was one of my books of the year then. (I don't have a booktube channel, but I have a bookstagram, in case someone is interested enough to follow 😉).

Glad you’re back. I read The Five last year and really enjoyed it too.
Thanks! Yes I didn't expect The Five to be as good as it was.
It's always wonderful to see what you're reading. A big fan of Northanger Abbey and excited for Jane Austen July

@@tillysshelf it's always good to cheat if you get more Austen

Sounds like an interesting PhD
. Yes it was a treat to find that version of The Hobbit - it was a much better take on the story!
I was very surprised when you picked up the Hobbit for that question, I'll have to check out that version! I really want to read Index.
I don't think I watched any other adaptation to be fair! The one we watched was called the Tolkein Edit. Index is highly recommended.
Exit via bookshop. Oh no. Disastrous temptation. Lovely to have you back!😊
Is it a disaster if you buy a book that you enjoy? Halfway through that one now. Wish I had read it a year ago!
@@tillysshelf well that's positive.
Thank you for the tag! I can't wait to make this video:)
You're welcome, look forward to seeing it!
So good to see you again, Tilly! 😊
Thank you, Alba! I did enjoy joining in for The Five even while less active on BookTube. Hoping to be a bit more involved over the next few months!

I don't have a bookstagram so I tend to forget it's a separate thing! I had such a good time reading The Five
