IS THERE A WAY to do kind of this same thing but have the text stay still in the frame but the line to move. As in it stretches and moves to the point it is covering but the text and its underlaying line stays the same. Sort of like a elastic string attached with tracking but from one end.
I'm going through your videos as I learn Resolve and I'm always fascinated how these effects take so little! I always thought it's complicated but here you did it in 7 minutes! Thanks for your videos, they help a lot! :)
One last thing I usually jump to the end of your videos to watch the result of what your doing. I do this because it takes the MYSTERY out of what your creating and I can concentrate on what you are doing to vreate the thing I have already no the answer to. To now what the end result is makes it much easier to see and follow how you go about creating it. i.e. Seeing segment 7:06 to 7:16 makes more sence to me while you create it. Make any scense to you? Keep'em coming Bro.
I had a question that I am struggling finding an answer to. When you create the Compound Clip using the Fusion Composition, any edits made to the Fusion Composition do not update in the Compound Clip. Is there a way to update the way the Fusion Composition looks in the Compound Clip? Can you relink it or something?
Hi Casey can you help me with something here? I follow your instructions to a T and when polygon I don't get the same inspector as yours its a lot like yours but I have more to it but the problem is I cannot draw the line when I try to it puts gold line with 3 squares and I can move the squares around but it just screws everything up. I'm using 17 fully updated was the program in your video older like maybe 15 or 16. Thanks, I enjoy your videos without you I wouldn't be able to use this program.
LOL! This channel educates AND entertains! I watch some JUST for the funny quips and puns. I hope he never stops doing free education on Resolve! People come for the education and stay for the humor! LOL!
Thanks Casey. I’m having this issue where my rectangle nodes are crashing my render attempts. Do you (or anyone reading this) know how to troubleshoot this?
Hello, is there a way to do multiple tracking callouts in resolve 16? I tried doing 2 trackers then having a merge node but they don't show up in the media out.
Thanks so many great tutorials, straight to the point and easy to follow. However this tutorial only works for me up to 4-55 when I import into the timeline it initially looks OK but as it starts to render it shows the dreaded media offline. Have you any advice as to what I am doing wrong if anything and how to get round it. I am currently on version 17.4.6 build 4.
It's a masterpiece, thanks. It took my approximately 1,5 hour, but I really do not understand why my tracker is jumping just for only one frame, other than this everything you explained works flawlessly.
Thank you, very inspiring! I'm currently learning DaVinci Resolve and Fusion, and trying to make animated diagrams for a tutorial directly inside Fusion. This may be one way to go. I'll have to give it a try.
Is there a way to preview the different 3D titles, etc. without having to drag them to your timeline? As I have no clue what each one looks like until I drag it to the timeline... Thanks!
I constantly see people refer to links in the video that don't exist. Seems like you intend on putting them in, but then forget. Is there some other reason I'm not seeing them?
Hey..thanks mahn..i was just looking for this..can you tell how to also save this as a permanent text so that i don't have to make it again and again and again..!!
I am following step by step watching the video 20x over and I just can’t get it right. I got all the way to the tracking part and when adding the compound clip then going to fusion I have 4 medians 3 merges and a median out and on the right the call out shows but on the left with the checkered screen nothing is there…
Casey is there or have you made a video that explaines each of the 28 ICONS in the line of nodes in FUSION starting with the (Backround ICON) That names them explains what each does and and possibly shows an example?
@@CaseyFaris thank you young man knowing the results helps some of us to understand what aome one is trying to explain. Most of the time it makes me understand things better. When someone factors a Quadratic equasion on the board it makes perfect sence but I'll never be able to do it my self. Hope that ain't the same for FUSION. Now if it were Geometery or Trig I can do that in my head. At least I used to do it 20 years ago.
Casey, I've tried your method but no matter what I do I keep seeing cobwebs connecting the area not supposed to be connected, as if I'm not creating a line-by-line vector but a box. There's like a string or a cobweb underneath, I'm really out of my wits about what to do and need help. Resolve version 17 macbook pro 15' Big Sur 11.4 thanks a bunch!
Ok, I've solved the problem. For anyone encountering this just go to your: polygon - controls - and adust 'position' just below "border style" menu just so it doesn't go all the way to the left or right. I've spent two hours trying to figure this out and there is no info online on this so let it be the first one! :D
The minute you mention you are going to Fusion, I tune out. I can't keep up with anything in that page. Why can't they dumb it down on for us small TH-cam creators? Please don't ever use the term "super simple" when using Fusion. Love all your other videos
Can you please make a basic Fairlight video in the Fairlight page? Like how you made that basic Fusion video inside of Fusion. Anyway, awesome tutorial!
"Draw a little shape like this." Yeah it doesn't do that. As soon as I try to draw a second line it totally screws my first line up because it treats it as one object. I love your tutorials but I wish you would elaborate sometimes.
Hey Casey, I've recently been working on editing my cooking videos with DaVinci Resolve 18 and trying to learn something new with each video I post. You really inspired me here, and I just posted this, was curious if you had any thoughts on how I can get better at this, your video was really helpful, I had never used different views besides "cut" before, it was my first time with "fusion" and nodes and polygons: th-cam.com/video/aZn71qgwcFs/w-d-xo.html
Casey, I love your vids and have learned so much from you...BUT! I'm going to CALL you OUT! You're capable of making these amazing things, yet your intro screen is so mediocre... I'm challenging you to make a new, sexy, and minimalistic intro screen as a new video for us. So that you can show us your design process, and you can use in your videos thereafter.
Bull Puckey there filnn nothing is more mundane as watching a same 15 to 30 second intro over and over again. I just hit the right arrow key till that intro goes away. I unsribed to a guy that always opened with him drinking a cup of tea for 30 seconds. Casey skip the intro and keep on kepp'n on making good tutorials on DR. 16
Guys the intro is 5 secs... please deal. There are tons of people who aren’t subbed who watch my vids, the intros are for them. Please use that skip button. Thanks!
@@CaseyFaris I thinkI can tolerate 5 seconds of the same intro every time I tune in to a Casey Faris Tutorial, but if it hits 6 seconds, where's that SKIP button again? LOL
Thanks! I’ve been looking for this “thing pointer thing” video for a while!

Your teaching style is great! Very entertaining! You've earned yourself a subscriber.
My respect for all the video editors just went 💯
Thank you for making this so easy

Thanks Casey. I’m having this issue where my rectangle nodes are crashing my render attempts. Do you (or anyone reading this) know how to troubleshoot this?
Also, just curious, why did you use a different callout as your example at 0:13 than the one you taught?
Do we always have to make a fusion clip first????

This was awesome, you made it look really easy, I've been wondering for a long time how to do this. Thanks!

Coffee ☕ is life.
What's the difference between a planar tracker and just the tracker? When is one better than the other? Awesome video as always
Planar tracker tracks a bunch of points and averages their movement, point tracker tracks a single specific point.
