Calling All Engines Reimagined - James Asks Diesel 10 For Help

- While writing my Calling All Engines review, I put together a script of how I thought the conversation between James and Diesel 10 at the scrapyards would go in my reimagining of the special's story. And after the fantastic response to my review and the reimagining, I figured I'd refine it and show it to you guys. Edited in a style similar to Trampy's Thomas Movies.

This was a brilliant idea imagine how much better CAE would've been if it was written like this

This was so well-edited AND well-written! Considering a certain other non-canon Thomas piece, James was a perfect fit for this scene. Also, your Neil Crone voice was spot on, ha ha.

Wow! That reimagining of the scene with James instead of Thomas trying to ask Diesel 10 is a lot more engaging and heartfelt.
Hopefully like Tracks to Big Adventures, someone could actually make this rewrite of yours into a reality.
I'll do it, i just need model replicas of all the characters !
I don't really have a problem with the actual version of Calling All Engines!, but this reimagining is amazing. Your Diesel 10 voice is great and the scene focusing on the scrap engine when James talks about potentially losing work was a great idea.
Diesel 10 looks more like a MoW diesel who was retrofitted with a claw to clear debris on the line. Many older diesels here in the states get a similar treatment by having a cowl body put on them and have a little storage area somewhere in the back of the carbody for storing tools and other equipment. The UP converted some SD40-2s for this purpose. On a side note, I've always wanted to see Harvey and Diesel 10 work together!
I think this was great and shows james's growth and how he got out of that hatred towards diesels
This was AMAZING and I love how Diesel 10 was approached in this, he isn’t insane and bombastic, nor is he just a diesel that picks up scrap and has a few lines. He reminds me a lot of how D10 was approached in Day of The Diesels. Wonderful!
Puts in a disclaimer about curse words, doesn't curse once. Take that Coppa. Great work Luke, love the detail that James says "Disgusting" like he does with the "Disgraceful, Disgusting, Despicable" catchphrase.
Imagine the entire movie being in the style of Magic Railroad

@@sandudelcea6707 he does hate the hit era, but he also hates BWBA, and on his video talking about it, there was a section where he fixed it, using his own ideas, so I’m sure he would like someone else’s ideas on how to fix something not so good in Thomas’s history

It just needs more engines in the backround to make the world feel more alive and better lighting !

The voice acting and editing is really well done! This feels like it would be in a scene of a real movie, just with funny talking trains. Really well done, Usual Bloke.
This is a nice written clip. I would love to see a full rewritten version of Calling All Engines by you, and maybe even Trampy, since you made this video with the pictures inspired on his projects. I think that would be a nice project for you two to work on.

While I do love the idea of Thomas asking Diesel 10 for help, this one with James feels much more impactful. This video was killer. Do you think you could make one with Diesel 10 encouraging James to apologize to the diesels and them making up? I'd watch that.

My opinion of Magic Railroad is mostly negative, but I always did like the scene where James and Junior faced off against Diesel 10 and barely escaped with their lives. So, if James was the one to talk to Diesel 10 in Calling All Engines, it would feel like that scene would come full circle. A Splendid Idea with Splendid Voice Work of the most Splendid Red Engine!
This is something that I really wish the team had handled differently in Calling All Engines. While I realize not everyone is/was a fan of Pinchy and that he(?) is almost another character entirely in Magic Railroad alongside Diesel 10, I feel like the whole dynamic between the 2 ended up being part of his character (and in my opinion a great addition. Magic Railroad remains my favorite iteration of Diesel 10 to this day)
Meanwhile in Calling All Engines Diesel 10 is no different than any of the other diesels other than the fact that he's got this claw that scares the steam engines. But there's no legends or stories preceding Diesel 10 this time, like baddest of the bad. All the steam engines are just afraid to work with and talk to him, like okay... 😐

Honestly like how you've portrayed diesel 10 here anyone can say what about diesel 10 in calling all engines but I'd prefer how he's portrayed here than in TATMR because i don't really like the concept of a main villain/antagonist that takesover sodor.

I might do one but fans are free to give their own takes on the idea. That's part of the fun with this tbh seeing other people get creative

And regarding me making more, I'll direct you to my recent update video on my channel for more info regarding that
I’ve thought this movie could work with any one of Duck Donald Douglas and Oliver due to their issues with diesels and scrap, like Duck could’ve dealt with having beef with Diesel Arry Bert and D261 if he appeared as a visitor or even if they ever were introduced in the show Spamcan and Old Stuck Up, and Douglas could be dealing with the fear of the Smelters Yard and Diesel 10 due to how he was almost scrapped as well as being afraid of Arry and Bert (had they stayed the way they did in SGL and FBTR). It would be nice if Splatter and Dodge appeared but unfortunately they were repaints of the Iron Twins and Lady didn’t really contribute much like anyone could’ve had her role (though it would be interesting if Diesel 10 was with her instead of Rusty as a nod to TATMR).
Speaking of Diesel 10, I think the way he came off in this was pretty great where his presence, how he talked and how Angelis made him sound fits his menacing nature unlike how in CGI the way he sounds so high pitched doesn’t fit how he’s meant to be intimidating as well as how he’s also more indirectly threatening as well.
do you think you can more reimagined versions of your rewrite if CAE Also on a side note is TATMR canon in your thomas universe.
Gonna have to spend some time thinking about if I do more as it is quite a daunting task. And in answer to your question, magic railroad is not canon to this story but I figured I'd give Diesel 10 his Neil Crone voice for nostalgia :)
Oh yeah I understand tho I like how you portrayed diesel 10 here and his friendship with James like I said I love your version of CAE You Really captured emotion of your voices for diesel 10 and james.
