This might be peak Wang ChuQin. His level right now is almost unstoppable. He has speed, feeling and a lot of good tactics to outplay any opponent

his in table control is missing a lot, also a variety with the spin and location, the third major problem is his continuing attacking forehand ability. However, Felix has more and bigger problems.
I actually believe the lvl wcq has had the last 6months is the highest lvl any tt player has ever been at. Malong still the goat. But i think 2024 wcq would win 2016-2020 ma long

I would say ZJK between 2011 WTTC and 2012 Olympics had the highest level ever.
I did some digging and in 2016 Ma Long's memorable losses were against Xu Xin in Korea and Japan Open and against Zhang at Kuwait open. But I don't think Wang could beat a 2015 Ma Long, could he maybe... he only lost 5 times throughout the whole year, the only loss on the international ITTF circuit was against Shang Kun, he won every every other tournament he played and didn't lose to a foreigner.
Interesting. In my opinion I believe Lin Yun-ju and WCQ have the same level of skills. In terms of mental toughness WCQ is way ahead.
Similarly few players were always ahead in terms of Skills then Ma Long in the last decade but Mental Toughness of Ma-Long has always been strong.

With his current form and Fan’s inexplicable slump this past year, WQC certainly is the favorite to take gold in the Paris olympics.
Fan's focus is on a random girl's concert and not on table tennis.

WCQ has so many gears in both FH and BH shorts. He's in total control with so many variations in spin and power. And he's young and quick to respond to every shot.
Good try from Felix. He is still a level below the top Chinese players, but hopefully will close the gap in years to come.
Felix did well to complicate things and change the rhythm in the second game, but can’t compete with WCQ in the longer rallies
Felix was hopeless the previous match against Wang. Was well beaten again today. But to be fair it's a big thing for a European to take a set off Wang and Felix did that...also it's a step in the right direction it's an improvement versus the last day.

Would have loved to see Boll vs WCQ. He was by far the best european in this tourney.

I believe that the only players that could rival Wang Chuqin are Fan Zhendong and Lin Shidong (I mentioned Lin because he has been having very good results against chinese)

The only part of the game Wang isn’t the best at are the unexpected parts of the game. Net shots, drops shots, weird returns etc. Apart from that he is so solid you could get right now.

They call Ma Long the dictator for the same reason. Opponents are forced to play to their styles.
Probably that he didnt manage to impose his style of play , because he plays against a stronger opponent than him, that didnt let him this opportunity...I talk as a tournament chess player, and i think the problem can be translated into table tennis.
Many people think Felix is going to be better... He is currently the best European player, how can he improve more with no serious training partner? Skills are there, but not the environmental conditions to improve his mental strength... he needs to play in China superleague to do that, but he just won't...
I don't imagine any coach not thinking about make their player play in China ! It's obvious that battling chinese regularely is the next step for Félix to improve. What are the conditions to enter the League ? I mean conditions from the League itself, not talking about the will to do it from the player.
