It kinda makes me wonder how they would've adapted MODOK in the 90s. CG still wasn't there yet, and would most likely come off as complicated to pull off his accurate comic design as animatronics. And considering a lot of CMB changed a lot of things from their source material, I feel like they would've completely redesigned him with a very different design in mind.
UPDATE: I had to find the 1997 script just to skim through how he was described. And I found it... "He turns, stiffly. The voice sounds like a man speaking through a hole in his throat. Grotesque:" -- "CLOSE-UP of the FACE FROM THE CORRIDOR. It is rather an ugly face, to be sure; but a relatively normal one, with a pair of eyes, a nose, and a mouth. But then the CAMERA PULLS BACK to reveal that this "normal face" is ENORMOUS: --- MODOK floats above the floor in an ARMORED HOVERING CHAIR designed to support his gigantic head. The sides of the chair rise up encasing his face. His SHRIVELED LEGS hang uselessly above the floor. Only one of his arms seems to be of use CONTROLLING A JOYSTICK that operates the chair. His head must be six-feet from top to bottom and at least four-feet-wide from ear to ear. An ENORMOUS EXPANSE OF HAIR is plastered to his head, looking unwashed, framing a face surrounded by FLESHY-FOLDS OF SICKLY-COLORED SKIN. -- His proportions are similar to a baby's--with his large head and tiny body--but the size of MODOK takes that suggestion and grotesquely warps it to terrifying effect."
5:25 that sound very clishe but damnn so awesome at the same time. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I can imagine RDJ saying that during Ironman 2 in the senate scene: Hydra senator: You are a Stark you created weapons, stop using that armor as super heroe toy. I don't really see it working with RDJ's sarcastic and snarky take on the character though. But it would be badass if we got the Nick Cage Iron Man lmao
Great video as always bro. I cant wait for AI to advance to the point where we can give it scripts and it generates a movie for us to watch. Tom Cruise would have added a level of physical intensity to Iron man which would have been fantastic to watch, but I dont think he could pull off the playboy persona tbh
Mr Junior did a pretty good job in the end though, turning a C list minor Marvel character into the main guy, not sure Tom Cruise could have had the same impact!
About the only thing I think was done better in this version was the fact that Iron Man incidentally stopped a common robber. That would have been a great addition to the movie we got to help cement WHY the public thought he was a hero. Apart from that, while this was a pretty good script, I just think the final version did it better.
I knew Cruise has long been considered for the role, but i didn't know there was a full script with him in mind. The story itself sounds interesting, but since it was the '90s, i'm not convinced the effects would've been up to snuff. Not to mention if he was asking so much for the first film, imagine how much more he would've asked for the sequels!
This is my favorite episode, great job, tbh that sounded like a banger of a movie, but I can't imagine the special effects being good enough to pull it off, hell Modok couldn't even be done now, as we saw in Quantumania.

Thank you so much for what you do, it is appreciated.
Thank you for the kind words. Thrilled you dig them
Thanks for the amazing video ❤
It kinda makes me wonder how they would've adapted MODOK in the 90s. CG still wasn't there yet, and would most likely come off as complicated to pull off his accurate comic design as animatronics. And considering a lot of CMB changed a lot of things from their source material, I feel like they would've completely redesigned him with a very different design in mind.
UPDATE: I had to find the 1997 script just to skim through how he was described. And I found it...
"He turns, stiffly. The voice sounds like a man speaking through a hole in his throat. Grotesque:"
-- "CLOSE-UP of the FACE FROM THE CORRIDOR. It is rather an ugly face, to be sure; but a relatively normal one, with a pair of eyes, a nose, and a mouth. But then the CAMERA PULLS BACK to reveal that this "normal face" is ENORMOUS:
--- MODOK floats above the floor in an ARMORED HOVERING CHAIR designed to support his gigantic head.
I can imagine RDJ saying that during Ironman 2 in the senate scene:
Hydra senator: You are a Stark you created weapons, stop using that armor as super heroe toy.
Tony: Tony Stark died in that day in Afganistan selling weapons, now I am Ironman
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love the editing and how it visualises the movie. This could’ve been cool but I’m glad about how Iron Man’s history has gone.
Agreed. Maybe a little ahead of its time, which is probably why they didn’t write many action scenes in the film

The CGI in Ant Man 3 was deliberately janky. For 'comedic' effect.
@@davidjames579 Like the CGI in Love and Thunder? And the CGI in Wakanda Forever? And the CGI in Multiverse of Madness? (okay well that's a Sam Raimi movie so it sorta gets a pass, but still...)
@@Mate_Antal_Zoltan no that was all bad. But it was said that the Modok CGI was done for comedic effect, because it looks almost 90's tech than now.
Good one Bullets!!! Are there any failed video game to movies on your list?? Like splinter cell for example that was to star Tom Hardy
I should start doing those. Any more you’d like to see?
@@Bulletsandblockbustersno video games please

TMNT: “The Blue Door”
Inside Out
Cary Fukunaga’s It
Bob Peterson’s The Good Dinosaur
Pixar’s Newt
Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla 2
Tom Cruise as Iron Man? Suddenly I want to see that actually happen.
Secret wars. If tom can go to tropic thunder for lols n trolls. He will go for this. You know how serious tom as an actor. If not good. He aint with it. Or investment
Although this sounds cool and badass I still like the one we got more
I knew nothing about David Maisel
Can you do could have been Cool World if it was a horror movie
I thought that was Nicholas Cage as Ironman plot?
I love the first iron man and I’m so glad rdj got cast

the og script sounds awesome
I can't believe they kicked around the idea of having Iron Man not fly what's he going to do show up in a pickup truck to fight crime lol 😂
That thinking by New Line Head Bob Shaye reminded me so much of producer Jon Peters saying Superman can't fly.
@@davidjames579 yes!!! lol good point!
@@trackpackgt877having iron man ot fly wh of hev been stupid like imagine saying life lorenzo do banventurddny wantbtransfomers to transform
Thank God it wasn’t. Back when MARVEL used to think outside the box for casting, instead of just randomly grabbing award winners and giving them parts that don’t suit them.
I’m glad Tom Cruise wasn’t cast as Tony Stark.
He is an massively overrated actor. Credit to him for doing his own stunts but apart from that he has nothing on Robert Downey Jr.
I wouldn’t have even watched the MCU if he was in it.
What if there were JUST GOOD MOVIES, so these hypotheticals wouldn't be necessary?
Stuart Gordon almost made this? Why not, before Spider-Man, Sam Raimi was best remembered for the Evil Dead movies.
David Hayter is always a solid choice.
...(mic drop)
He was going to direct Watchmen at one point.
Sounds like we would’ve gotten a better AIM and MODOK than what we have already
I would’ve loved to of seen this movie, but we did get Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, so it did all work out in the end
Ethan Hunt as Iron Man, that's awesome!

I believe now super hero movies work better if they are auteur driven takes rather than universe building approach to a franshise because it keeps the stories have their own identities.

Great vid as always. Just an idea but could you do the original R rated cut of Scooby Doo the movie for a video at some point it doesn't have to be this Year but at some point could it happen?
I can look into it!
Dave Maisel. The true mastermind of the MCU (before it went to shit)
