As someone born in 2001 I couldn’t possibly agree more, deadguy is the band who really really got me into hardcore even though I first got into it through newer current bands. Almost all my favorite HC albums are either from before I was born or when I was a baby/in elementary school because those bands were just objectively making more innovative music. Almost all of what they were writing was completely original since they had literally nothing to rip off that sounded like what they heard in their head and wanted to make, so they had to create it themselves from the ground up. There was no one who sounded like integrity and earth crisis before those bands existed, and I think that aspect is often way too overlooked when people talk about why the classic artists in any genre are so revered, not just in hardcore. When you have to completely invent a new genre and sound in order to make your band sound like how you imagine it in your head, that kind of talent and originality is always gonna have the end result of a band who’s music is so much more timeless and amazing & with so much better songwriting than any imitators who come after that aren’t actively trying to create something totally new & original.

I was a sophomore back in ‘95 when my buddy gave me my first hardcore mix tape.. sh!t, lookin back on it.. that tape was as perfect as a intro into hc/deathmetal & everything in between can get.. lowkey that tape is like a ancient historical relic to be unearthed 1000yrs from now lol… I hope to god these kids nowadays do the knowledge and know their history if they call themselves hardcore kids, cuz I’m in my 40s now and still listen to old & newer sh!t…. You don’t have to tattoo ur whole body to say “here I am I’m a hc kid”.. back in my day , you actually saw individuality coming together for the music!!kids wearing polo shirts and college football team hats, straight up skateboarders, megadeth metalheads, and art students..Support bands & the scene.Integrity is one of those bands you wore the shit out of every cd that came out. HC Hall O Fame!! OhiOOoooo
I think they are musically innovative and brilliant really. As far as Dwin s vocals very characteristic but very ripetitive like he sings the same on all songs. But musically changes and it is very inspiring
