I've only encountered Kansas once in this lifetime, and as a Canadian it was definitely different than what we're use to, and that was the time I bought a pickup truck in Houston Texas, and drove it home to here in southwest British Columbia, Canada! The only thing I can remember of Kansas was the LONG interstate freeways, where in many places you couldn't see the end, as it just went off into the sunset. Stayed overnight at a location at some exit, and the next day it was excessively windy, and apparently you have a lot of 'corn growers' in KC, and the husks from the plowed fields where blowing across the interstate hitting the side of this newer truck I had just bought, and I could see vehicles on the other side of the interstate with the grills on the vehicles completely covered in corn husks! I stopped once to check my own grill and radiator, and pulled out a few, but mine wasn't near as bad as many I had seen....so, 'corn husks' is my memory of Kansas! Thanks for the video, and I'm still waiting for more tours, wherever that might be, but on your e-bikes, as I have one ordered, and would like to learn more about the 'tips & tricks' you two might have on how you're liking them, the safety aspects and if you've chosen to adjust any of the optional changes on some of the Himiway video's out now? Stay safe you two, and I look forward to your future antics!!
Thank you for watching & yes - in Kansas we say we don't worry about the wind unless it stops that's when we get concerned (in the spring when it's still lol). More adventures and tours coming soon - thanks for hanging with us!
Loved seeing Kansas City through your view guys. In every downtown area, the street musicians are my (dellynn) FAVORITE part!! But I’ve never seen a legit piano in the street. How cool!!!
Thanks for the "love letter" to Kansas City! I'm KC born & bred, and there are so many great places to go and things to see here. But so few people think about even coming here!
I was always leary of visiting KC because of St.Louis. I appreciate you showing us your town. KC is back on my list to visit for sure. St.Louis was.....well lets just say it was an experience.
You guys made me homesick! I didn't realize how much I missed KC until I watched this video. We're coming back in a few weeks and Joe's Kansas City is always one of our first stops to eat. The Z-Man sandwich is a must! Hope you do a part 2 tour of KC. Really enjoyed this! Thanks.
Thanks for showing the fountains. My grandad had a place on Lake Lotawana when I was growing up. We did our family summer vacation on Grandad's place. Traveled into KC many times. Those fountains were always a memory of mine.
That was a very fun, interesting tour of KC!! I knew virtually nothing about your lovely city!! But, now I see why so many people are relocating to your state!! Thx, Todd and Sheila!!!
This was an informative video! We have family in that area and had no idea how much we didn't know until we watched this. As usual, you guys nailed it! Thanks for always brightening up our evenings! :)
I used to work for a dental office that was also an art Gallery in the Cross Roads. I loved working in downtown. I love how you showed the off the beaten trial sites in KC. Some of my favorites. I love my adopted town here in the Midwest! #CarolinaGirlInInTheMidwest
I love history actually I taught history, so I guess that’s why I really like it! Thank you so much guys it’s kind of cool to see your city and what you like about your city and what there is to do in Kansas City I have a girlfriend lives outside of Kansas City who moved away from me about five years ago I think someday I’ll get there to visit her and get to see your beautiful city!
I'm commenting. Hearing ya'll talk about all the BBQ there was fun. I used to visit family in Olathe, and we would go to either Lawrence or Topeka to a place called Bodey's BBQ. It was my favorite. Now I would say Jack Stack. I hope you guys are having fun. Have blessed travels.
Thanks for the tour guys!! We are new subscribers and binged all of your videos. Picking up our new 328g soon! Our garage will hold our ebikes and our Goldwing. Hope to meet up with you someday!
Barbeque, I have been to Jack Stacks and Arthur Bryant's. I am not a big barbeque enthusiast, but I have been to those two. The meat is good to me with or without the barbeque sauce!
@@SwitchItUpLife Hugo's cellar is just a nice steak house under the Four Queens. It being in a dungeon type place reminds me of the place you went. But the place you went is even cooler, even more mysterious! Hugo's cellar may be more well known by now. My wife and I went there once when we were about 23ish....probably about 23 years ago. Wowza! Time sure does fly!
I so enjoy your videos! Thank you for sharing. My husband group in Kansas City and we have been to the places you shared but we learned things too. Safe travels?
I loved your tour. Made me think of my daughter. and what?no Jones BBQ on the list? we ate there when I visited my daughter who lives in KCMO. Arrived before it opened and there was already a line. Sold out before noon. I loved seeing them on Queer Eye. Cool story. I have been to Q39 and Jack Stack. And the Nelson (daughter went to KCAI and worked at the Nelson).
Hopefully sometime soon - we opted to be closer to get to our kiddos while back in KC....but back on the road soon and will have some water locations soon
Ok, this will freak Todd out. I have lived in KC and Ashland (between Jefferson City and Columbia), both on the Missouri River. Lots of publicity in KC that women were missing. There was not a lot of information because the women were on tough times. Later a friend of ours was fishing just upstream from Jefferson City and unfortunately caught one of the women. It was so sad but it led to authorities to be able to track currents and ultimately catch the murderer. I love KC and it’s history. Thanks for sharing
Great review! Learned so much. When do they typically turn on the fountains all around the city? I’m planning a day trip in March and hoping to see some.
I can personally attest that Swordfish Tom's is a great place. They weren't really an 'original' Speakeasy, but it's got a nice vibe with great drinks. They do have a Facebook page, but otherwise do not advertise, it's only word of mouth. The history behind KC, prohibition, Tom Pendergast, etc is quite interesting. In addition to the Majestic, the Milwaukee Deli is another local shop with prohibition significance. It was the site of the first delivery of beer back to KC after prohibition ended. The moment was captured in a photo (which is now wallpaper in the shop) showing the clydesdales outside and several politicians. In the windows of the shop, you can see bottles of spirits, as a F-you to the politicians showing that KC was never really dry.
Wow, I’m in Liberty on the border of KC and haven’t been to most or any of these places. Well, been to crown center maybe 20 yrs ago. Idk why, but the drive thru KC makes me feel claustrophobic and why I always avoid it. Parking can be a pia too. KC on the Missouri side extends out for miles. I didn’t know they did kayak events on the Missouri River. I may need to look into that. I love kayaking! Thanks for sharing! Ps my oldest son lives and works near downtown kc. His house is one of the few places I know how to get to 😂.
My mother use to say, tongue in cheek, that the Missouri river was actually the longest river in the world, just because it made a right turn in St Louis... After all, Missouri River you could navigate much further than the Mississippi before they joined. 🤣
Best bbq in KC = Crazy Good Eats, K&M or Q39 for sure. I’ll fight for those 3 anyday 😂 I’m surprised y’all didn’t go to P&L ... dad could have got a couple lemon drops! Lol
This is a North Face jacket - you should be able to find it at a North Face outlet - if you are talking with the logo on it we hope to offer jackets this fall.
There is and we forgot to mention like 3 of our other favorites - there is a Starlight Theater we love, some great breweries, wineries, etc and great sports :-) Thanks for watching
First to comment.
Sheila, keep the kayak trip on the list and film Todd doing it. It will be hilarious!
At the beginning at Parkville, I’ve tooted my horn at that crossing hundreds of times in my railroad career. KC is a great place to explore.

Love the guy playing the piano it is well with my soul

Cool video thanks for sharing definitely some interesting looking buildings definitely love some BBQ.
Wait around for you to release a new video, so we can laugh.. love it.
The last time I was in KC we ate at Joe’s BBQ in the gas station. A really cool experience! A little cramped but all part of the experience.
so good.....thanks for watching
Commenting. Thanks for the good information.
Years ago we took shelter in the WW1 museum while at a church conference. Tornado was in the area. Very nice facility.
Well that's one way to see it lol You must have been here in the spring/early summer. Thanks for watching

That's in Kansas. Kansas City is another state
"When peace like a river attendeth my way"......That guy crushed it. So bittersweet
In KC bbq goes moo. Down south it goes oink.....

Enjoyed your tour! Really can’t wait to visit KC.
Thank you for doing all the things!
Hi from the Emahizer's. We thought that alot of the culture and places commonly unknown within KC were really neat. Thanks for another cool video.
Thanks for watching!

Another WWII Museum, is in Fredericksburg, TX (Pacific Theater) Also, extremely interesting like the one in New Orleans...
I think said WW 1. Museum
We were just in Fredericksburg, TX. Only our 2nd visit. Great museum! Can't believe all the wineries that have been added.
The road is calling you!!!
Soooooonnnnn!!
We enjoyed your video so much on KC and by the way our home is exactly one mile west of the JC Nickels fountain. Keep them coming!
That is awesome!
A fun trip around your home town. We’ve never been. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Great video, thanks for sharing all about KC.
Thanks for watching!

Well now I'm curious about this Hugo's cellar - gonna have to check it out the next time we are in Vegas!

Born and raised there and have yet to ever see the Steamship Arabia Museum. Been in the Old Market (River Market) a million times. :-(
Ohhhh I think you need to visit it!
Switch it Up for Todd and Sheila!
So enjoyed this Vlog!! We are heading that way in July, and I think we will spend some time in Kansas City! Can you mention a good park to camp?
We have a video on that doing a tour of the area options.....try about 2 videos before this one
@@SwitchItUpLife Thank you I will check it our!!!

Brisket. Love us some brisket.
