Host of the WK on top! I think its absolutely brutal at 500 points. You can get the WK, 2 barry wights, 3 specters and 35+ orcs. I've played this against both Rohan and numenor (Isildur ring build) and demolished both. Both games the good heroes just died and my orcs killed the enemy warriors. I feel like it would do pretty OK against Arnor, Arvedui would just have to die very, very quickly. Listened to this while painting some angmar orcs, that R guy must have an IQ of 160.
34:31 On one hand, I’m loving that they are more mindful about handing out banner effects. On the other, it’s like GIVE US THE BANNER YOU COWARDS! Haha. Wolf Pack Leader and Buhrdur, 6” Banner in their Legions. Hoping the new edition finds a balance for banners, consolidates all banner rules to be the same (counts as, treated as, is a banner, etc.). Because if not, we’ll continue to see those models taken all the time (DE LL, Sully, Boromir, Bard, etc.)
Ive podiumed with Host of the Witch-King, run as many Spectres as you can. At 750, i would run 5-8 Spectres. You dont need a Barrow-Wight, they combo better with Gully than in this LL. Ive played this LL about 15x in tournament and practice games.

Host of the Witch King is really toxic. I’ve played against it 5 times now and it’s just not fun. Your heroes run out of Will really quickly because they’re resisting consistent spells on turn 1. Then they’re taking courage tests at -1 every turn because of the huge Terror bubble and Harbinger. The list basically locks down your heroes and grinds down your warriors. Even if you take Fearless warriors they just get ground down by the orc spam. You can beat it by taking a specific counter-build, but that’s not fun for either player.
Because yall hit on Carn Dum so hard... I want to make them work!! In all seriousness, i think Carn Dum will get some buffs in the new edition. With fight values being spread out more, i think Warriors will become F4. Also I think much of this Angmar supplement is likely to change in the new edition because of all the fresh feedback thats being given.
Random Rs take on LL is really weird. LLs should be better the open options of an army list since there are no options to ally. Example; not having a warhorn in the army of arnor is really a hit. Once you break everything out of arvedui is a byebye plus there are no ways to fit lots of cheap hobbits into the list.
Good point you bring up about the hobbit archers’ access to war horns. I think that is easily missed! It’s also common for Arnor to ally Cirdan in to mitigate courage issues.
You don't need the Warhorn. Apart from Arvedui 6" fearless you still have Malbeth and Aranarth with Courage 5 for stand-fast. Argedir is also Courage 4 at least. Apart from that Arnor does not break easily. You can also take Dunedain for additional Stand-fast (Courage 4)
@@grimgrauman7650 Arvedui surely helps against things like Blades of the dead. 🙄 You also just need a bad round of saving throws in your ranks to get a good crack. Anyways my point wasnt about Arnor having access to warhorn yes or no and if it is a must have choice. It rather was an example to show, that legendary legions should be stronger than the same green list to justify the profile and ally restrictions.
You shit on Arathorn's Stand too much. I think it's great in smaller games. If you wanted to go for only dunedains, swapping 3 rangers for Arathorn is well worth it for maelstorm deployment, mountain dweller and around 3 extra might. I would take a banner only over 500 points.
I really hope jay sees these

Wow the guest commentator was really smart and good looking too
We will tell him! 😂
I'm hoping Arnor will be brought into line by changes in the new edition. At the minimum the fight value rebalance should help.
I played triple wraith host of the witch king against Khazad Dum (Durin) demolished them.

Very interesting, the spectres makes sense... what's the full list? Do you run the Shadow?
Also, well done on the finishes!
