Hell, we've even had a curfew in Quebec. And we've been in a continuous "state of emergency" since March 2020. The police is also allowed to enter your home by force if they suspect you have too many people over for dinner. All they have to do is get a "télé-mandat", which roughly translates to a "remote-warrant"; I hear it only takes a phone call and a few minutes to obtain. Hell, we've even had a curfew in Quebec. And we've been in a continuous "state of emergency" since March 2020. The police is also allowed to enter your home by force if they suspect you have too many people over for dinner. All they have to do is get a "télé-mandat", which roughly translates to a "remote-warrant"; I hear it only takes a phone call and a few minutes to obtain. I could go on, but I think you got the gist of it; it's pretty awful. I'm no longer proud of being a Canadian, and I hope I get to immigrate to the land of the free one day.

And it has fewer deaths despite having one of the oldest (and most at-risk) populations in the US.

Here in Ohio, we lost many businesses. We had limited materials unless purchased online or to Amazon. The hardware stores here were selling their displays like they were going out of business. Since our two week lockdown with curfew finally opened up about a year later I am seeing business start to renovate. I'm still in line to get my roof repaired and I have been on the list for a year now. A lot of people also decided they did not want to work, but appreciated the unemployment checks and stimulus. Ohio is finally having interactions in real life which will help with peoples mental health. Even during those first couple of weeks of lock down there was a rise in new, first time patients, needing mental health services.

As a resident of Florida, I absolutely love my governor. If you watch his interviews his answers are not only on point, he responds honestly and within milliseconds. He doesn't even have to think about the answer, because he's not lying. No teleprompter, no scripts, no BS.

What really is causing the rise in cases is the amount of tourists who come here. I work at a tourist trap here and last year with shut down the whole year we had maybe 5 employees (out of at least 100) who ended up getting covid. This summer we've had tons out and it's spreading like crazy.

Yea I’m not sure what he said that was so wrong. He was empowering the people of his state, which is what every governor should be doing regardless of their political views.
Because each community should be allowed to what that community needs. A year ago he was saying he wouldn't mandate a statewide order because communities should be able to decide what they need. How has that changed? He is taking the opposite position he held a year ago, when its politically expedient to do so.
