The poor homeowner, hope he's doing okay.
I’m sure that homeowner is having nightmares!
He never could have imagined that situation!

And his wife. She must’ve been terrified
The window repair is probably what’s keeping him up.
@@fivespeed3026not to mention the wall and ammo replacement bullets ain't cheap!!
Breaking into someone's home comes with a certain Occupational Hazard!
If there aren't serious immediate consequences for invading a private home, no one would be safe in their home.
Welcome To Florida.
Congratulations sheriff. You are a great man. My mother shot a guy to save herself and my eldest sister in a very similar situation. We grew up very proud of our mother as we listened how she saved her family.
Nice to see Justice being allowed!
The right to defend one's home, family, self, is sacrosanct. The sheriff is 100% correct.
Thumbs up for the college word!
Yeah i also think we should be allowed to defend ourselves against his deputies if they enter without a warrant
You'd think that would be common sense around the world but it isn't. There was a burglar a few years ago that broke into a home and the owner defended himself, the burglar got wounded(no guns since they are illegal) and sued the homeowner who lost and had to *pay* the burglar. I don't think the homeowner was arrested or spent any time in jail.
@@hulduThat can happen in Michigan as well. Someone trying to break into your home does not automatically entitle you to kill the intruder. You are responsible for making sure the intruder also is armed with the same level lethal weapon as you (gun) before you shoot the intruder, otherwise you will become the aggressor in Michigan. Even if you don’t get criminally charged, you may still lose in civil lawsuits.
Very much so, so proud of our 2A floridians.
Support for Florida and the citizens defending themselves.
Why do they pay taxes to police? Then police should be made obsolete if residents of Florida start defending themselves
@@bambinaforever1402 : The police still serve a useful purpose in Florida. Residents inside their homes do defend themselves but not all residents are capable or they bought into all the socialist/marxist/communist/totalitarian lies about owning guns.
@@bambinaforever1402- Really?? The police do a LOT more than show up for home invasions, that’s not the only crime in the world !!
@@bambinaforever1402 There will always be criminals, because even if they're arrested it doesn't guaranteed the DA's and courts will jail them. The man had already committed a crime in another state. F around in Florida and find out. Some guy just got killed in Orlando yesterday trying to break into someone's car.
You cant do that unless its a carjacking or something where your life is in danger. Even in this case if they still outside in his yard it wouldn't have been justified.
@@samjones3106I don't like the idea that you have to constantly second guess yourself when somebody is infringing on your rights. I think if you have a reasonable expectation that they won't stop if asked, it's reasonable to stop them. the one who got away just got a murder charge added to breaking and entering
Thats how it works in Oklahoma also.
@@eligebrown8998 I think it can apply in most states. Just depends if the prosecutor feels like adding the charge. Any homicide during the commission of a crime counts toward the person committing the crime, or some such.

Single woman in FL here. I own multiple firearms and friends often ask why I keep one on my person even when I’m at home. I always tell them what my mom, a former deputy, used to say “a robber isn’t going to call to let you know they’re coming so you must stay ready.“
Glad this man and his family are okay.
EDIT: To those of you who feel sorry for me bc you believe I live a life of fear, thank you for your sympathy 😂.
I just spent an hour watching my dog chase birds in my backyard while I fearfully sipped on ice tea. In two weeks I’m going to find the courage to take a flight to the Dominican Republic and fearfully lounge on the beach with family. When I get back, I’m going to return to work and like a true coward, I’m going to assist my team with finding a prospective adoptive parent for a 10 month old in foster care.
Maybe one day I’ll finally find the courage to overcome all this fear and enjoy a life worth living😊
