    Brother, thanks for your transparency. Although I’ve been in business for years, I actually did the same exact mistake on hoodies earlier in 2021. It was a $600 mistake. By the way we almost the same exact shop set up. Love Riley Hopkins. It has never let me down. Keep up the good work. Peace.

    Baav, huge props to you !!!! You chose the right way to deal with that situation with the reprints. Man.... So good to see business owners take it out of their own pocket when things go wrong. .... I've owned a tree care business for 20+ years. I've screwed some stuff up in the past. Just need to fix it and make it right on your cost. .... I have kids your age. I'm proud of you and your not even my kid 👍 Keep doing it the way you are going. Never compromise. You will sleep better . Your parents must be proud.

    printing on black without a base is one way to give it a more vintage look. We dont do it often but it does have its place.

    Any advice to a beginner for registering if I don’t have a press that does micro registration?

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In that case you would have to make sure your transparency paper is perfectly lined up with all the screens in the same spot. It is hard to register without micro's but if your image burned is in the same spot with all screens you can make minor movements and be fine with it. I would master single color prints before you move onto doing multi color jobs

    Great video. I'm just getting into screen printing so I'm trying to get my head around everything. Can you explain why when setting up your screens (I'm assuming lining up the reg marks perfectly) they can still be out when you do your test print and need adjusting? Also, how long can you leave a screen set up for in storage without any detrimental effects to the screen or design. I'm asking because I plan to have a design (two color) for club tshirts where I may need to print one or two shirts periodically (when new members join and need a shirt). Thanks in advance.

    • @baavproductions
      @baavproductions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They move when I tighten the registration due to pressure so it moves a nudge. That’s when I go back in with the micros for the “micro” tweaks. You can store the screens for a while if it’s exposed and cleaned

    With a 156 underbase, you can do 230 or even 305s,for the top colors ....less ink and less buildup for a softer hand, and more crisp color finish...just my opinion...and you don't need to flash every color after white you can print wet on wet ,less time and heat on your underbase

    You may of said it in the video but I went back over and couldn’t find anything, what ink are you using? I’ve been basing everything for years and switch to mixopake and no real need to underbase anymore unless customer requests really bright popping colours.

      I appreciate it man! Had to do what was right. Hmm I would make sure your not flooding the print with so much pressure.. I tend to get ink bleed when I flood too hard. The flood should be just a slight pass over like you are filling the screen with ink and not pushing quite yet.
