Hey new subscriber here watch all your beginner videos is it possible to make scented objects with essential oils?
Hi! Welcome. Thank you so much for asking. Yes, you can make items scented with essential oils. Keep in mind some essential oils have colors.
Happy Felting 🌬️❄️🌲🤍
Hey there!! Love your channel ❤️ I was wondering how long it took you to get that star to that finished quality as well as could I have some tips or guidance on using chenille stems for armature and wrapping polyester batting over it to build my form up? Can't seem to get it to felt right or maybe I'm not feeling it long enough :) happy felting!!
Thank you so much. It is hard to say on time. That was a couple years ago. My guess is 2-4 hours?
I apologize I do not have experience with armature. Are you using real wool? That is key to felting well, or have your changed your needle out? They can get dull.
I hope this helps. Happy Felting🌬️❄️🌲🤍
What needle size do you use for felting with cookie cutters?
I usually use Clover USA’s speed needles or fine weight.
what size is the "speed" needles ?
Size 40 Happy Felting🌬️❄️🌲🤍
You mentioned you switched to your speed needle. (I'm very new to this...I just discovered needle felting yesterday!) Why did you switch needles and what's the difference between the two?
Welcome❄️🌲🤍
The speed needle pulls more wool. I really like the Heavy Weight needle, it works with most wool types and gives me time to really shape & mold my creation. Sometimes with the speed needle I don’t feel like I have as much control with the shaping, it really pulls & really condenses it fast and can create like a crust, a more matted layer on the object. I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any more questions.
Thank you so much for this. I was inspired by a garland I saw but wanted to make myself. I've seen some felted stars that are more plump in the center. How do you achieve that 3D "plump" star? Do you just add more felt to the middle or is it another method? Also, would a mutli needle help this process go faster for the middle areas? Thank you again!
Angie Hello! If you want it more 3D & plump, yes add more wool to the center and be sure to felt from all angels to make the 3D form of the star. Then towards the points create 3D angles too. The multi needle pulls more wool and I think is better for making broader items or when you need to pull more wool. I prefer one needle for more precise shaping. So maybe the multi in center & single on the points. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
@@SnowflakeForestFelting Very helpful, thank you!
@@pirate89RAWR You are welcome!
Thanks for sharing! About how long did this take you? XO - Alexandra
Aloha, you are welcome. Thank you too! One star takes around 15-30 minutes. Have a wonderful day!
@@SnowflakeForestFelting Thank you! That's helpful. I like to have little projects around. But not if I know I can't complete them and pack them up in a short amount of time. Cats are awfully interested in wool! hehe XO
I love needle felting, but I'm not familiar with a "speed needle". What is it?
Hi! Speed Needles are made by Clover USA. They pull more wool, which allows you to work faster. They are a heavier needle too. They come in a teal case and I have them linked in the descriptions of my videos. I love working with them for the beginning of a project but i have found shaping can be a little harder with them for the fine details, I like a lighter needle. I hope this helps!
@@SnowflakeForestFelting Yes it does! Thank you!
@@liztarrant196 You are very welcome!
Ok I gotta ask. Have you ever pocked you fingers. I could see me poking myself. Thanks for sharing
Gallion Adventures O yes, ...but only if I’m trying to hurry or something is distracting me so I’m not 💯 focused.
It does hurt but usually gone pretty quick!
You learn to work in ways to avoid it! 🥰
Is there a part 4?=D
This series was just a 3 part. Do you still need help?
@@SnowflakeForestFelting Oh no, I was just wondering.
@@darshanakolakulath9860 Of course!
