  • Features like this are being added to Ardupilot all the time so it pays to keep up to date with the Ardupilot release notes and keep your model updated to get the best flight performance and features. V4.2 and later is needed for this feature. If using CH5 for arming on ArduCopter, make sure that CH5 isn't used for modes too. See the series below for how to set it all up.

    It's time for me to set this up. I can't tell you how many times I've done a slow left u-turn on the runway and had the throttle disarm. :))

    Hi Lee, thanks for the ardupilot vids. I am trying to connect an elrs receiver to my Radiolink Minipix without luck. Radiolink advised me to use the sbus connection on the elrs but as you know there is no sbus only tx and rx. I have tried all the settings for the minipix serial ports and the settings suggested on the ardupilot pages. Do you know if it is possible to use elrs with the minipix.
    Thanks

    If you set up as a switch be sure your throttle is off before you flip it, don't ask how I know.....

      You can add a setup to the radio so it'll only arm when the throttle is low.. See my super safe arming video. Happy flying

    Hey I'm so close to arming my quad using MP that I have no pre-arms checks, everything seems all good. Except for the bottom left of the HUD that says Bat1 10.00V 0.0A 0% in all RED. I'm using the taranis X9D to Pixhawk Cube and everything seems to be responding well. Except my RC5 that arms/disarms refuses to do anything. Do you have any advice Lee? Appreactiate all the videos they are great.

      Make sure you are plugging the power block into the right power connector on the Pixhawk. That's the only time I have seen that here... Best of luck

      Ok thanks! It's arming now but only while connected to Mission Planner with USB. It will not arm when disconnected. What are your thoughts?

    In the Range field, the description of the parameters either fits, or doesn’t fit, and doesn’t stretch in height ... You can’t copy the name of the Ctrl+C parameter, suffer, slaves) or don’t use it, and that’s fine.

    How do I go about installing the push bottom switch to the pixhawk of a cargo VTOL, which disarm upn landing( but not turned off) in order to continue the rest of the waypoints mission?????

    As I was trying to arm my Pixhawk 2.4.8 I frequently getting *"PreArm: Baro: GPS alt error 5704m (see BARO_ALTERR"* which prevents me from arming. But sometimes I do not get any of these error and arms finely. What may be the reason behind this?
    Additional Question:
    Is Barometer necessary hardware in Pixhawk? If I turn off the arming checks of barometer to “off” will that be okay ? By turning the baro arm check to off I can arm successfully. Hope you will respond my comment soon. Thanks for your support PainLess360.

      CH5 is only two position and sometimes the MODE channel isn't CH5 (depends on the Ardupilot vehicle types, but it can be changed). It sounds like you've missed something. See my full setup guides.

    hi
    is there a setting in mission planner for failsafe not to disarm while in flight, ex : if you hit disarm switch by accident will it RTL first before disarm

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are reasons that a model won't disarm in flight. See ardupilot.org/plane/docs/arming-your-plane.html

  • @reinhardherden516
    @reinhardherden516 ปีที่แล้ว

    Arm via switch works, but you should also consider the following: with the same switch, the model can then also be disarmed in flight ... which can lead to unsightly results. It is possible to arm the model in flight, but all conditions must fit (e.g. throttle to zero). In a panic situation this could go wrong.
    In addition, a new home point is set during the arming, i.e. an RTH would then no longer function.

      See the Opentx and EdgeTX mixing school for how you can add mixes to the radio to make it safer. Switch arming, like other methods suit particular pilots, models and situations. As a pilot who's been stick arming for over a decade, I've never had an issue... Happy flying

      Ardupilot is still inconvenient, the most demanding of attentiveness. The oldfags just got used to it, so newcomers have to go through these inconveniences too. The standard interface elements did not seem to fit - that's why they created their own, more limited and inconvenient. Many people say that it is necessary to read the documentation, but it is not clear exactly where. there is no required text in those sections. The terminology is different: the flight controller is called an autopilot, many parameters in new versions are abolished or called differently, why the drone does not arm itself - error 0x4000 and that's it.
