I am so hooked on Snap Lock by Progressive, the 4 cup two level Bento boxes, that I want to buy more. lol What I like about them is that I can have space for a decent salad and still have room for my Japanese inspired lunch with skewers and sushi. I have not tested for "leak proof" but I don't intend to use it for liquids, as I prefer Thermos for anything leaky.
We have the yumbox, omiebox and planetbox rover and out of all of them I always find myself reaching for the yumbox. I hate the planetbox and the omiebox doesn’t seal 100% even after getting a replacement from them. The new replacement doesn’t really seal either. But their customer service is awesome. I’m debating if I want to get my son the yumbox mini.
Yes, the yumbox is great and it fits into so many different lunch bags! We like the Yumbox mini for snacks, I just have to be strategic about what I am packing in it because the right hand compartment and the treat section are so small
I have those two and I agree. Omiebox is very cool but is a bit fussy, especially to clean. Planetbox isn't even close to airtight, so I'm always afraid a sandwich or crackers or chips will be stale by lunch the next day, so I never use it. Yumbox has neither problem. Now that my kids are seven and eat a larger lunch, I use the yumbox for their school snacks, like a little smorgasbord. It works great.
Justice also has a great bento box! I recently picked it up in store and am loving it. They are pretty inexpensive too which is a plus. I think $12.99 and they're a 4 compartment box.
Stacey Winguard. Thank you for your reply. I was going to order one of these days $30.00 boxes for my granddaughter from Amazon because it said "leakproof". I thought it truly meant leakproof. Don't think I want to spend the money now. Thank you so much.
What Stacey said! It is leakproof for pudding and things, but soy sauce, salad dressing, etc. would leak! You can also get smaller leakproof containers to put inside the Yumbox. For example, the EasyLunchBoxes Mini Dippers or there are some other even smaller ones on Amazon
I'm desperately looking for a Bento Box (preferably spill proof) that fits comfortably in the Pottery Barn Classic Lunch Box....any recommendations? (Not the one by PB as it's not spill proof)

This is the first year I’ll have to pack lunches for my daughter as her new school doesn’t have a cafeteria. With my busy schedule, I’ll be packing a whole weeks worth of lunches in one go, and those look perfect!
If you put a piece of press and seal plastic wrap over the tray part in a planet box it makes it leak proof! (Hopefully you get what I'm trying to say lol)
It depends on what kind of bread you use! You may need to cut it if your bread slices are very big but otherwise a sandwich should fit just fine. If you want more space you could also get the Panino style Yumbox in the Tapas size!
Sarah Makes Lunch I did get the tapas :) but it’s for my 5 year old and it’s so big it doesn’t fit it in most lunch bags :/ that’s why I wanted to get the panino. I might buy it and make a comparison video!
All the lunchboxes have issues with their clips, that break so easily. 20 to 50 bucks for a piece of plastic. Selfish and moneygreedy companies could instead just use a metalclip..
I don't know about her, but I used to be a substitute teacher. Children lost or left their lunches at school all the time, so a lot of kids had more than one lunch box.

I couldn’t put yoghurt in it either as the whey leaked through my child’s school bag. They exaggerate on the “leakproof” claim.

If yumbox could make an original in style as tapas 5!!! Thats the only reason bentgo appeals to me bc I gotta put my homemade uncrustable in there☺

I've heard it's big! Maybe try a neoprene lunch bag because they tend to be flexible and can accommodate different sized boxes
