  • We had some fun with Donnie Cox who was wearing a John Deere hat, but showing off his Farmall Cub with the sickle bar mower! He is a John Deere fan, but his wife leans to red power, and he likes the Farmalls too! This is another fun way to celebrate 100 years of Farmall, introduced in 1923. The Cub was a highly popular model in the Farmall line!

Mr. Donnie Cox has it right, the wife gets what she wants, without question. Also good point about the horse tractor transition, we'll probably have to go back to the horse the way prices are today! I love both of those two IH's, thanks for sharing.

The little tractor that could, did and still does. The very first tractor I ever drove and used was Grandpa's Farmall Cub. In the 1950s, Grandpa and all his neighbors had one they raised tobacco with. Believe it or not, I had a great aunt that had one she farmed with. The Farmall H was International Harvester's all time best selling tractor.

Yes my Grandpa had one on the farm in Nebraska and I did all the mowing and rolling the hay before we staked back then. Very few farmers had a hay bailer. Like me it’s the one I did chores with it just the right size. We Had big Massey’s & I couldn’t get up in them at age 6. Had to grow some. I go the the Antique Farm Show In Tulare CA and watch the parade of tractors and then walk around looking at the old farm equipment from 1800’s. Amazing to the 50-60’s.
Great memories that you and I share.

The old saying says "happy wife, happy life". When referring to multiple females (my wife and 2 daughters) the best I can come up with is "happy girls, happy world".
I wanted my 1963 A-C D-17 restored to factory stock. However, my girls "overruled" my wishes by adding metal flake to the Persian Orange paint (without telling me of course lol!). Their reasoning was that Lil Allis will rarely do any actual work. She's pretty much dedicated to parades and local shows now but, she does still occasionally pull a mower or baler when needed. They've also decided that the 7080 will recieve the same metal flake treatment when she's ready for paint. I must admit that the flake really makes the paint job "pop" when in the sun at a local show or, under the lights at a local parade!

He got the same hydraulic pump whine my old beat up one does. Guess I can write it off as normal and continue to ignore it haha

There was a tractor that you steered with ropes like your steer a horse I think it was called a Power Horse and it was designed to pull horse-drawn implements but it was a four wheel drive tractor.
That was a real crossover between horses and motorized equipment.
