It’s almost funny how in a bit of expanded material for gears emphasises just how seemingly impervious this man is to the negative psychological effects of fighting in the Locust war. I recently read “the slab” And I remembered one of Do,’s and internal monologues saying something to the effective of “He’s just got a special place inside his head that the horrors can’t reach, I don’t think anything can bother him” likely due to a combination of his upbringing as a tribal native and his traumatisation as a young man. It really puts into perspective just how hard-core the Locust breaking process is. You can only wonder about how much pain Maria was in for those few weeks that she was held captive. It’s almost a mercy that they lobotomised her.
Such an perfect breakdown of the entire situation! Tai was always the embodiment of strength both physical and mental, both in the games, books, and comics. Everyone looked up to him for guidance and in moments of horror, he took the fight head on! For him to break in such a devastating way within a single day, just a few hours, could not better encapsulate how terrifying and evil the Locust really are.
“Tais as tough as a Brumak, so if anyone could make it, itd be him” Words said from a hope of wanting to see a good friend rise from the darkness. Shame he never saw “Tai” again after his pod launched
Tai was one of my favourite characters in Gears of war. in fact, after he died, a friend and I (we were co-oping at the time) said "for Tai" as we continued the mission.
Tai is a clear definition of a character who didn't have much screen time but stole the show, when we found him i was happy as now we had all of delta + Ben and now tai and I thought the locust were really in trouble now until it happend my favorite character of the franchise Everything happens for a reason
"I like the glow of Locust blood in this light" 🔥 Tai was only in half the campaign and yet was such a great addition through and through you put it perfectly!
Tai’s voice in Spanish (Mexico) is the same one as the one of Android 16 from DBZ so both having respect for nature and being gentle giants makes it even better.
@@STPTTP He was in his squad for about 3-4 years during the Pendulum Wars and was still there during their final firefight before the UIR surrendered! So he may still be nearby and in the COG on E-Day!
Amazing video brother to my favourite gears character from his badass introduction to his sad and emotional passing. Defined by his wise and philosophical words to his badass tattoos and unique armour! An exceptional and honourable character, just hope he’s apart of the squad in E-Day and possibly four player co-op so I can play as him again
For only showing up in ONE game, Tai cemented himself as one of the most memorable and badass characters! His story is crazy good like you said, badass to depressing in just half a game! I hope we see him again in E-Day, showing why he was such a beast on the battlefield 🔥 I appreciate the support a lot! 🙏

Tai is my favorite gears character he’s strong, feared by his enemies , very stealthy, and loyal his brothers and sisters until the end. I love this guy he’s like the terminator, Simon Riley, frank woods and Rambo put together is the ultimate super soldier that would put fear in every uir soldier and locusts. Even to this day it’s sad to me and hurts me seeing all of these horrible things that the locusts did to him, he deserves a warrior’s death but if delta squad didn’t get to the grind lift Marcus, dom, cole, dizzy, and tai would have seen skorge head to the queen personally. But if I had to pick someone to play as tai it would be Roman reigns

You are correct, his scar in this comic was retconned by the book "The Slab"! In official canon, he got it during his time in prison 10-14 AE via a dog attack. This comic came out in 2009 and the book come out in 2012, retconning the origin of the scar!
Even though gears of war e day is coming up next there is still a chance of gears 6 so i was wondering can you talk about the variant of the DEEBEES soldiers from gears 4 and 5 and why they have to make them as the bulk of the COG army especially since there about to go to war probably (full scale) to the swarm Kinda similar to gears 2 I love the DEEBEES
I'd love to give a little insight on that, there's actually a ton of backstory about the DeeBees from the books "Ascendance" so here's some snippets: After the Locust war, humanities numbers were LOW, so much so that the "New COG" researched ways to impregnate women, even ones previously unable to. So when the Swarm came around, DeeBees were preferred by First Minister Jinn to preserve human life! After the events of Gears of War 4, Jinn wanted to keep things secretive as to not alarm the public so JD and Del AND Marcus and Kait went on their own missions, both at one point receiving DeeBee reinforcements, allowing Jinn to not have word spread and she can see the battlefield in real time! But at first the DeeBees (as we saw in 4) were REALLY bad at fighting the Swarm. Their only real advantage was when they landed and surprised the enemy, but as soon as the Swarm got their footing, they decimated them. Their programming was just not up to par so Baird continuously tweaked the code so they fought better and communicated better with each other! More DeeBee variants were added to fit the variants of Swarm that kept popping up! Sorry for the long rant, couldn't stop myself!
By the looks of it in the comics, Dizzy escaped via his own Grindlift heading down into the Hollows! On that page where he says "Good luck, Brother", there is a Grindlift next to him so he either used it or simply ran away!
I don't think they sucked THAT hard especially Gears 4, I thought that was a pretty solid game! The dialogue for both games were my biggest issue and for 5 I wasn't a huge fan of the open world concept for Act 2 and 3!
