- In this week's episode, I'm going to show you how using a single dark backdrop and some colored gels from @MagnetMod can give you the ability to produce several different colored backdrops quickly and easily.
In this video we used the following MagMod Modifiers:

MagGrip 2 - shorturl.at/cuwCS

Now for some, the process of changing backdrops might not be an issue or perhaps you just like the look of a solid seamless better than the type of colored-backdrop that can be created using gels. But for any photographer, I think having options that can be changed up very quickly is a great thing regardless.
MagMod is great in that their entire lineup is designed to be quick and easy, utilizing magnets to give you a ton of different options, colors and attachments that can be used to either control or creatively enhance your light. As a wedding photographer, having a kit that is compact but not limiting is crucial.
One thing to note when shooting with gels. If you are looking to achieve the most optimal saturation levels with your gel colors, my recommendation would be to use a darker background (gray or darker). Shooting against white will provide a different, less vibrant look. What it comes down to is the look that you are after.
In the end, if you are simply looking for a way to change things up quickly or if you are maybe unable to simply store multiple backdrops in your shooting space...then this can be a great alternative solution.
