- This is my first drive in the two-seater fully electric Renault Twizy, in Lagoon Blue. It’s known as a quadricycle and has a lithium-iron battery with 17bhp and 57Nm. Launching 0-28 mph takes just 6.1 secs and has a top speed of 50 mph. The base price (when tested) started at £12,695 and the model tested with a few add-ons was £13,725. Now that’s what I call a bargain for a car (ahem) quadricylce that’ll get you more looks than a Ferrari.
I'd highly recommend testing, buying or even renting one out for the day. It’s very entertaining to drive, and as you could tell, it put many smiles on my face and it’s bound to do that no matter if you’re the driver or the passenger behind.

The view while driving would be great. Apparently you can add clear plastic side windows for winter usage.
This is actually cheaper than many electric motorbikes although it's much slower it has the advantage of the extra seat and roof.
The narrow track would make it a bit less stable than side by side vehicles though.
I had a GoPro behind me to my right (you might be able to see) showing forward view, but I forgot to press record, which I'm still gutted about! 😭 Yeah, you can add plastic side windows and other bits and pieces, too! It's a seriously cool and qwerky thing, that's for sure. I liked it :)
I loved the video, & the little car is a gem. I saw one of these in Kingman, AZ, U.S.A. a couple days ago, only that car had windows, & was a 2 door. How far did you travel on the this journey, & where were you? Myself being stuck here the last several years since my husband past away, I sure do miss the roundabouts. I, BTW, am from Pembrokeshire, Wales, & this little car would be perfect.
I was driving on the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford, and I covered about 10 miles. I am sorry to hear about your husband. I must say this Twizy is great. I was telling someone only yesterday how joyful it is to drive. Try and have a ride in one if you can!

Doors and windows are optional extras.
Imagine a salesperson saying "Would you like doors or windows with your car?" 😆 That's the sort of thing you'd expect to hear around 100 years ago! 🤣
Trouble is you couldn’t park it anywhere. Imagine what people would chuck inside it. No security.
Very true indeed. I'd hate to leave it anywhere in public if I owned one!
