Occams Razor applies to the Roanoke Colony - the dude didn't come back for 3 yrs 😂. They wanted to live, so they went with the Native people. Why is that so hard to get?
@@tylerbarnard4777 Yes, but there is some evidence of them leaving being accurate, with the only reason it being uncertain still is because John White gave up on trying to check because of bad weather. Even in his journal, he wrote, with different words, that the colony did what he had instructed them to do in case they had to leave (indicate whether they were forced out or left by choice based on the inclusion of a Maltese cross, of which none was left, so it likely was voluntarily) and left for Croatoan Island, now known as Hatteras Island. So while there isn't 100% confirmation, there is pretty strong evidence supporting the belief that the colonists left for Croatoan Island, likely to join the Croatoan, Hatterask, and Kinnakeet villages there. And that would make sense, since the colonists were having problems with food shortages, so joining with people who had lived for centuries there would have been in their best interest. It's something that may not be able to verify anymore with complete certainty, but much like any historical event, we can make an assumption based on information known that we have the correct answer.
Attila the Hun's conversation with Pope Leo I. Back in 452 AD, Attila and the Hun armies were set to attack Rome, when Emperor Valentinian III sent a peace delegation to meet with him, including among their number Pope Leo I. Attila and the Pope spoke in private for a while, and then Attila departed, pulling his troops out of Italy. The details of their conversation and what exactly the Pope said to get Attila to spare Rome have been lost to history. Some claim that Pope Leo showed Attila a vision of Saints Peter and Paul protecting the city. Others believe that Attila was afraid he would meet a similar fate to Alaric, the Gothic king who died shortly after sacking the city, if he attacked. Less fantastic theories claim that Pope Leo bribed Attila to go away, or pointed out that the Huns were low on supplies and suffering from plague at the time.
Moreover, the location of Attila's tomb is still unknown. Legend has it that the Huns changed the course of the River Tisza, buried him, then let the river return to its original course. So the tomb is supposed to be in the riverbed (a very unlikely legend, if you ask me). The people who knew the location of his tomb met the same fate as in Genghis Khan's case.

Surface ship Navy vet here. Had a few friends in the sub service, including one guy stationed on a boomer. Those guys believe there are only two kinds of ships - subs and targets. Personally, I never had a desire to go on a ship that sinks on purpose. Cheers....
From my retired sub husband: all ships sink. Only subs are designed to come back up. But submariners are just about as crazy as fighter pilots, from what I know of fighter pilots (which, admittedly, isn't much.) I'll tell you one thing, after years in the sub community: I have nothing but the greatest admiration for the courage and dedication of the sailors who serve on submarines. Thank you for your service.
@@sarahkeller-vp6hqI have only admiration for my shipmates in the submarine service. Being a surface sailor is hard enough, but I can imagine it is as rigorous, if not more, than anything I experienced. I appreciate the sacrifices your husband made and thank him for his service. Cheers....

Here’s the problem with the Lost Colony: John White didn’t look that hard when he returned to Roanoke. There was a bad storm rolling in that day (maybe a hurricane?). Some people died during the excursion to the island. So, a simple investigative actions, like visiting the Croatoans, were never accomplished. There is a lesser-known diary entry dated 20 years following White’s return trip from a lesser-known colonist who stated that he did meet a couple of the people from the Lost Colony. They were definitely English people with English accents wearing native attire. They said that they were a part of the Roanoke colony and resettled at the invitation of the Croatoans when they were struggling to stay alive.
Thank you! I was going to bring this up, this isn't a huge mystery, there was evidence that they assimilated with the Croatoans. THEY EVEN LEFT A NOTE BRO!
Facts. No one living right now will ever see Jackie's dress from that day; it won't be seen until 2103 (I think it's going to a museum, but don't quote me on that part lol)
@dougerrohmer I don't personally NEED to see it, but considering that most people in the US has seen the photo of her in the dress when LBJ was sworn in on Air Force One, I think it's a combination of historical significance and morbid curiosity. Also, if something is withheld from the public for 150 years, then yeah, people are going to be more interested. My general point was to highlight the secrecy around JFK's assassination.
Greek Fire, sounds just like Napalm, float on water cannot be put out by water, sticks to skin (and everything else). So that recipe must be pretty close.

I recall a few years back I took a class on mesopotamia, and one of the theories my professor shared was that the Hanging Gardens of Babylon might have actually been located in a nearby city of Ninevah where there was more archeological proof of a hanging gardens to actually have been present. The idea was that the Greeks confused Babylon and Ninevah, so the Hanging gardens were thought to be in Babylon
@@79klkw It definitely was eye-opening to me! I can't remember exactly, but I recall my professor sharing archaeological proof of a building in the ruins of Ninevah that might as well could have been the hanging gardens, but I guess it's an answer we won't know for now!
Tesla had like 70 something boxes of files, but only 60 something were claimed to be found. The FBI, OSS, or whatever branch back then definitely took them from the room after he died 😡😥 I can only imagine the incredible discoveries and inventions from him that will never be shared 😤😖😭
Or are being (have been) covertly used by our military around the world, also just a thought the war department took over area 51 just a few years after his death, probably just a coincidence.
Tesla faked his death like the many, many, many celebrities who did as well. He may still be alive right now, but when I saw his photo, he was very old. That makes me wonder whether the files he left for them were worth anything or not. If I were to guess, I would say he only left behind information on consumer technologies, so that some evil rich person could get rich from manufacturing things which would help people, and all the weapons and potentially dangerous technologies, ... he took with him to the Witness Protection program or whatever. The monies of the evil super rich people were to be returned to the people of the world anyway (very soon, and it's more money than most people think), and so whatever info Tesla left behind was probably for technology which he wanted to go to the public anyway.
I'm married to a now retired submariner. I know more than what you told, and you completely left out the SSNs. You talked about Boomers (the SSGNs that used to be SSBNs, but not the Fast Attacks, which are named for cities) and completely left out the newest classes, like the Sea Wolf and the Virginia classes. I can't tell you much, but I can tell you that the men on those boats are amazing people. (They just started putting women on subs; it was a berthing thing. There was literally nowhere on the older boats for women to have private sleeping quarters.) And, yes, subs are boats, not ships. But all of these people live underwater, sometimes for months, without seeing the sun. When they come home, it is strongly suggested that they not drive for the first few days until their depth perception resets after only having the short sightlines on the boat. It's the one part of the Navy where officers and enlisted are the closest. They're in that small space together and have to rely on each other so much that it just happens. To be fully submarine qualified, the enlisted guys have to learn about every system on the boat, just in case they end up the only one conscious. They know that if something goes really wrong, it will likely end in a recovery, not a rescue. (A great quote from The West Wing, but pretty accurate.) Though the U.S. does have the best rescue equipment in the world; we might have been able to save the men on the Kursk if Russia had let us. There's a LOT more, but I would never risk any of my boys' safety by possibly saying too much. Just know that those boats are out there, under water, protecting us, not only even, but especially because we can't see them. If you're someone who prays, maybe remember them today.
I’m a navy sailor who was also a submariner. I agree with everything you said except I never heard anything about not driving for a few days after returning to land. I was on the submarine known as The Big Dog of the Red Sea Wolf Pack
It’s UNLIKELY and hard to believe that Now that we have had cameras on our person for 20 years and STILL have ZERO proof of these sightings? They also claim God heals people but still nothing caught on tape? If it were real we would have recorded proof that convinces us. No aliens have come here. The proof is the fact that People can’t keep secrets! There may be life forms on other planets but Brian cox said it’s unlikely they existed at the same time and less likely they achieved space mastery before they caused their own, or were victims of, an extinction event.
I don't know if anybody outside of the UK are aware of the lost super material Starlite that didn't conduct heat. It and was invented by a hairstylist/amateur chemist. It was demonstrated on TV show Tomorrows World and looked set to change the world but the inventor died before he could patent it!

My father was a local government official. He and my mother were given notice they would be moved to a nuclear shelter to restart the country in the event of a nuclear war. The existence of this plan and the shelters was not widely known by the population at large. Speaking of nuclear war, the letters of last resort really are a unique mechanism to ensure a retaliatory nuclear response from the UK. The location of the four nuclear submarines are not known by anybody once they leave the UK. The commander can fire the missiles under his/her own command if the UK is attacked. The submarines are undetectable, nobody knows where they are and nobody in the UK needs to send an order to launch. It is an ingenious, unstoppable dead man's switch.

There's the formula for "Fog Bank" that was lost for years. The experimental aircraft, known as "Avenger". The torpedo that "flies" through the intentional use of cavitation. The experimental aircraft, known as "Pico" (sp?) that can be launched from a submerged submarine. (And many others.)

At least we can work with the tax mystery. We just have to whittle away at it by listing where our taxes aren't going. Tupperware and missing socks pretty much confirm the mandela effect.
I would not be so sure greek fire will forever be a mystery. We have identified the former content in many old pottery jars and our tools to do that get better and better. So all that has to happen is some archeologist getting his hand on a pot that contained greek fire and analyze it to solve this. Our best bet is to find a shipwreck somewhere

Both Attila's and Chinggis's graves were so hidden. But we have ideas on their final graves. Attila's was hidden beneath the heartland of the Hunnic Empire. Genghis's was hidden beneath the sacred mountain of Mongolia. But the Mongolian government banned disturbing any historical or resting sites for their leaders. Also, Jesus was a carpenter's son, so He took the trade during His secret days. He also took the Bar Mitzvah, as like all Jewish children had to do. He also spoke Aramaic with Galilean accent, which was different from Yiddish or Judaean. Jesus was stuck in His homeland before venturing the land to spread His Teachings.

P.S. We also aren't sure what happened to the ashes of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury after his death in 1991. We know he was cremated but we don't know where his ashes are. The common consensus is that the ashes were scattered in Lake Geneva, probably near Montreux, a favorite retreat of Freddie where Queen did some recording. Less fantastic theories claim that Pope Leo bribed Attila to go away, or pointed out that the Huns were low on supplies and suffering from plague at the time.
lol I think he just told him how many people lived in Rome.
The Man in the Iron Mask.
My late hubby was French. According to him, there is one person who knows the identity of Dumas pere's role model - the Man in the Velvet Mask. That person is the legitimate heir to the French monarchy - the Comte de Paris. The information is passed from fatber to son when the son inherits the title of Comte de Paris.n

Greek Fire. What about Damascus Steel?
Greek Fire, sounds just like Napalm, float on water cannot be put out by water, sticks to skin (and everything else). So that recipe must be pretty close.

I can only imagine the incredible discoveries and inventions from him that will never be shared 😤😖😭
Or are being (have been) covertly used by our military around the world, also just a thought the war department took over area 51 just a few years after his death, probably just a coincidence.
Yep, your government has some very interesting stuff hidden away somewhere, and not just Tesla's files.
Poor people really don't understand how capitalism works.
How would the world benefit by some one like you knowing?
