When I was a kid this boss battle scared the shit out of me. I got over the fear when it frustrated the hell out of me and I kept dying over and over again, especially during that part where he forces you to levitate in the air and you have you force your way past the numerous flying pink balls which fly at you to hit his weak point. It is fucking HARD. At least the music is amazing.
I love this game! The plot is really deep and good, and the music and graphics are superb! I like most of the songs, but this one is one of my favorites. The quality of your video was the best I've ever seen! Put more up!
Really isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. Plus, I liked how if one of those dark cloud things hit you, he'd stop for a sec so you could pick up some rings. So polite. :3
I love this fight, probably the best in the game, but he's too damn hard. Now, in his second form with Super Sonic/Shadow, there he's too damn easy. Also, BEST. SONG. EVER. The Biolizard's Theme (Supporting Me) OWNS.
Had some close calls with the sand, but good job handling the Biolizard himself. Watching all these Sonic Adventure 2 Battle videos makes me want to go play it now :)
"His body is designed to absorb attacks. He's invincible! As long as he's equipped with that red life support system, he's invincible!" I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME, OMOCHAO!
The 12 first seconds are brillantly calling for a scary and F*KINGLY EPIC BATTLE AGAINST A GIANT LIZARD OF DOOM. It only gets old after your 25th life lost.
Makes more sense if you use the theory that Gerald was basing the Immortality Research off of the findings of the Ancient Echidna society. I mean they have Fake Chaoses in ARK as well as a Shrine based off the one that Chaos guarded. Is it too far of a stretch to think that maybe he based Biolizard off of the mural of Perfect Chaos found in Adventure 1 and Shadow off of the mural of Super Sonic found in The Hidden Palace in Sonic and Knuckles?
Now that im older and watching this, it really reminds me how epic this game was, especially since I got a better understanding of everything. i spent hours on end trying to beat Biolizard, Ah man I love this game.
Since elementary school in 2003, I've unconsciously still kept this username for 9 years. This game led me through life. And created huge sonic fandoms. Nostalgia moment...
@Oeeshik If I had to guess it's a kind of preservative that kept the biolizard alive for all these years. Shadow's capsule probably had something similar in it.
that's one thing i love about this game. Even when you keep dying and the boss is beating the holy crap outta ya, you can die while listening to AWESOME music.
@Bioshocked678 The issue is that often, the spheres will suddenly whip around and hit you when they should have missed entirely. when it happens several times in a row, it's a problem.
To Get the flame Ring, you need his special light speed boots that will allow you to travel along a hidden trail of rings to the item. I THINK it is in the Forest.
Agree, it's like when the cutscen shows sonic and knuckles in the core and when sonic sees the bio-lizard he's like, "OH HELL NO! Shadow It's all you ;)
@ggctuk2011 exactly... well, kinda. The 2D and lack of one hit kill pits makes it easier to dodge, plus it's attacks are a lot slower and in the original, there's absolutely nothing to indicate you what to do except for the pulsing of it's life support tube when it hyperventilates. Also, the pink orbs it summons don't randomly home on you in generations
(3) On the final hit, you can only get hit once, since you'll lose all your rings, and it's impossible to get them back, seeing as you floating in the air. This boss was a nightmare as a kid and as a teenager.
Shadow is the final result of gerald's separate project to create an immortal being.this project's intention was transfering Shadow's DNA to maria to cure her disease NIDS (neuro imunno deficiency syndrome).Biolizard is a prototype of another project, sponsored by GUN,to create a bio weapon of mass destruction.Shadow was a clandestine project unlike biolizard, that's why GUN invaded the ARK and killed everyone involved when they discovered it
that one single cry at the begging (biolizard) is enough to show the depth of tension in this battle. Both are the ultimate, they want to prove it. In the battle, the whole tension is distorted: . one for shadow's failures . and one due to the horrid form of the biolizard.
No, it's in Radical Highway. It's actually not too far into the level. Instead of taking a right on one of the first roads, you must take a left and sumersoult under the long spinning cog. Then, you must use the Air Shoes (aka the Light Speed Shoes for Shadow) to dash across the line of rings over the gap. The Flame Ring is then just in front of you.
Here's how to beat this: Keep your speed limited a bit to where he doesn't switch to his tail. Use the b or x to avoid dark orbs from above. On the first egg attack, focus on climbing and completely ignore the attacks. On the floating eggs, stay outside the egg field and weave left to right to avoid some eggs before getting close. Get in close, and when it shoots you higher in the air, homing attack it to finish the battle.
mm. Perhaps the most difficult part of this battle for me when I was a kid was figuring out how to damage him. Sure, I figured out the rail thing pretty quick. But using the bubbles to get up there took a bit longer. With the final gravitation one, I thought it was an attack I had to wait out for a chance to hit him like I did before. I was supposed to have made the connection that shiny rails indicated you could grind, but I wasn't paying attention on the last move and died many times.
Ok, so today I finaly beat the dark side of the game. (Because my hero side was done already.) But I did not fight the biolizard... How do you get to him??
@ShadowSora94 Back in the day when I played this with my brother, I could beat Biolizard flawlessly, but could never beat Final Hazard. My brother could never beat Biolizard, but he could beat Final Hazard flawlessly. We would hand off the controller at each fight. I guess it depends on the player.
they probably said the Biolizard was the prototype of the ultimate life form due to that machine-like thing he has on the back that (if I remember well) make it immortal until it is destroyed
@jm42fun They were trying to make an "ultimate being", and the Biolizard is similar to Shadow as far as its abilities are concerned, like using Chaos Control. Aside from that, yeah it's a gigantic monstrosity that bears no semblance to a hedgehog. Maybe it was an early prototype...
@SgtMustang Shadow is supposedly tULF not because he's ultimate in power but because he's superior in defense against harm and very powerful, or something. Really, it can best be explained that Gerald was insane. As for Biolizard, he's big and dumb because he's a prototype. He was meant for experimenting.
I remember I had the bugged copy of SA2, so I was never able to beat the game. During the final level, the one where you use all the characters, there was a glitch where Eggman would just fall through the floor. I was so pissed.
This boss back then scared the piss out of me! I thought the thing was going to freaking eat me if I got to close to its mouth! It took days for me to finally beat it.
tip: when u see the cobblestone floor turn dark brown as u run from his head, jump as high as u can and keep holdin forward. or u could jump and do a homing attack when u see the dark brown cobblestones
@xolasinc oh, well yeah, because I never spend time getting extra lifes. when I played through this game, I just went through the stages and tried my best on bosses. I usually had less then eight lifes.
i agree the last good sonic game. then came in the new generation of gaming. the dreamcast and the 64 were the last two classic gaming systems. full of fun games to play.
When I was a kid this boss battle scared the shit out of me. It is fucking HARD. At least the music is amazing.
Don't you just love how the music matches with the phases of the battle?
that music intro is so hypnotizing...
I love this game! The plot is really deep and good, and the music and graphics are superb! I like most of the songs, but this one is one of my favorites.
The quality of your video was the best I've ever seen! Put more up!
Words can't begin to describe how much I love this game! Oh, the memories.
Really isn't that hard once you get the hang of it. Plus, I liked how if one of those dark cloud things hit you, he'd stop for a sec so you could pick up some rings. So polite. :3

Also, BEST. SONG. EVER. The Biolizard's Theme (Supporting Me) OWNS.
Thanks for the upload! The music WAS perfect and you did an awesome job!
The music in this fight, hell the whole game, is incredible.
Had some close calls with the sand, but good job handling the Biolizard himself. Watching all these Sonic Adventure 2 Battle videos makes me want to go play it now :)
"His body is designed to absorb attacks. He's invincible! As long as he's equipped with that red life support system, he's invincible!"

So much frustration with this boss but so much satisfaction when you finally beat it.
Makes more sense if you use the theory that Gerald was basing the Immortality Research off of the findings of the Ancient Echidna society. Supporting Me is a EPIC battle boss music :D
Shadow has the coolest running animation ever in this game, and he looks so much better here than in any of the other sonic games wtf.
Now that im older and watching this, it really reminds me how epic this game was, especially since I got a better understanding of everything. i spent hours on end trying to beat Biolizard, Ah man I love this game.
After so many years this is still the hardest boss I ever fought.
Since elementary school in 2003, I've unconsciously still kept this username for 9 years.
This game led me through life.
And created huge sonic fandoms.
Nostalgia moment...
...I've noticed something. He's practically sitting in his own urine. -_-
primordial soup ?
@Oeeshik If I had to guess it's a kind of preservative that kept the biolizard alive for all these years. Shadow's capsule probably had something similar in it.
even watching this gives me fucking anxiety
that's one thing i love about this game. Even when you keep dying and the boss is beating the holy crap outta ya, you can die while listening to AWESOME music.

what was that thing on the back of that biolizard at 2 13 ?
Dropping into the flowing water that didn't flow towards the biolizard but away from the boss area was a pain as it was always instant death.
@ardeesonic excuse me, i meant "got the majority"
Biolizard: -troll face while your lives went from 50 to 0 in a matter of hours- U mad brah?
@ggctuk2011 exactly... well, kinda. The 2D and lack of one hit kill pits makes it easier to dodge, plus it's attacks are a lot slower and in the original, there's absolutely nothing to indicate you what to do except for the pulsing of it's life support tube when it hyperventilates. A giant Japanese salamander with cybernetics on it's body.- the biolizard in a nutshell.
What's the name of the song playing in the background of this fight.
I forgot how cool that sounds omg!!! "Get out you ugly prototype!" Shadows new voice actor fails hardcore.
lol the lizard is like ho..ho..hold still. ill get ya, ill get ya you little scamp. lmao
I'm skilled at it now. It''s just that every time i see this boss, it brings back my childhood of always dying in this battle.
This boss is so freakin' hard. Sonic Adventure 2 (Battle) was an absolute masterpiece.
(3) On the final hit, you can only get hit once, since you'll lose all your rings, and it's impossible to get them back, seeing as you floating in the air.
This boss was a nightmare as a kid and as a teenager.
Great game, great soundtrack. Good memories of watching my brother play this way back when...
Shadow is the final result of gerald's separate project to create an immortal being.this project's intention was transfering Shadow's DNA to maria to cure her disease NIDS (neuro imunno deficiency syndrome).Biolizard is a prototype of another project, sponsored by GUN,to create a bio weapon of mass destruction.Shadow was a clandestine project unlike biolizard, that's why GUN invaded the ARK and killed everyone involved when they discovered it
what do you mean Galbadia Hotel? I typed it in the music store line, but nothing happened.
ive always wondered, can you reach the master emereld shrine behind the biolizard by the means of a glitch or cheating
Is this video on battling the biolizard in Dreamcast or Gamecube
that one single cry at the begging (biolizard) is enough to show the depth of tension in this battle. Both are the ultimate, they want to prove it.
In the battle, the whole tension is distorted:
. one for shadow's failures
. and one due to the horrid form of the biolizard.
I too am a massive fan of the normal pitch-high pitch-low pitch-*thump* sound effect.
Prof. Gerald Robotnik, of course. XD
He most likely chose a lizard to experiment on because of its natural ability to regenerate lost limbs
These fucking shadow balls were almost impossible to avoid...
Can u use the light attakhit to always hit it?
doesnt the game let u play the music after u beat the boss? cuz it does in the gamecube version...
nice save on the final blow there. if you hadnt grabbed those extra rings before the lizard floated you in the air, you would have been toasted
ultimate lifeform revision 87: remove large vulnerable weak spot on back
@controllerfreak78 i think its either a session of rehab, or more potent hallucinogens
the music made this battle 1000x better
You can get it at any game store like Game Crazy, Game Stop, or circuit city.
where do you get shadows flaming summersault
when it screams, it sounds pissed, he is HARD at first, but once you got the pattern, easy pickings
@jm42fun I guess it was one of those "start all over from scratch" things with Project Shadow...
hes from last story
Here's how to beat this:
Keep your speed limited a bit to where he doesn't switch to his tail.

Pretty appropriate that Shadow's facing Biolizard
The former Ultimate life form vs the current life form
4:04 - Shadow says the best line in the entire game: "Get Out! You Ugly Prototype!!!"
@controllerfreak78 yeah what is that yellow stuff the biolizard is in?!?
Go to the Galbadia Hotel. The song is called "Supporting Me".
@MelonMenMovies well it's it's life support system
You were able to dodge the shadow balls with the flame ring/b button?! I never knew that... They were a pain in the ass to dodge.
Ok, so today I finaly beat the dark side of the game. (Because my hero side was done already.) But I did not fight the biolizard... How do you get to him??
I always found this level to be the scariest and the music the creepiest as a kid ;_;
My Prayers have been answered!!!! He's in Generations!
I really wish to see biolizard in future games, that don't contain time travel.
He is on life support xD the mashine on his back keeps him alive, and destroying it kills him :o
He lucked out big time on that last hit when the orbs knocked him onto the platform for the final strike.
they probably said the Biolizard was the prototype of the ultimate life form due to that machine-like thing he has on the back that (if I remember well) make it immortal until it is destroyed
And, as all manuals say, "if you have at least 1 ring, you can survive an attack.' Very smart for this thing.
@SgtMustang
Shadow is supposedly tULF not because he's ultimate in power but because he's superior in defense against harm and very powerful, or something. Really, it can best be explained that Gerald was insane.
As for Biolizard, he's big and dumb because he's a prototype. He was meant for experimenting.

This boss back then scared the piss out of me! I thought the thing was going to freaking eat me if I got to close to its mouth! It took days for me to finally beat it.
The biolizard sounds just like perfect chaos!
what is biolizard standing in?
Probably THE best game of my mid childhood
what where you doing at the 1:59
whats the music for this?
tip: when u see the cobblestone floor turn dark brown as u run from his head, jump as high as u can and keep holdin forward. or u could jump and do a homing attack when u see the dark brown cobblestones
I feel like a time traveler scrolling through these comments
i would but im stuk in the death chamber and i dont kno how to get the tool to get through the metal boxes as knuckles
Man, this Boss was such a nightmare to beat the first time I fought it.
Now, how did the design for the Ultimate Lifeform go from a giant handicapped lizard that roars like a panther, to a walking hedgehog?
No matter how many times I watch it, I just can't get how the final hit works. Why is Shadow floating like that ?
The Biolizard song is called "Supporting Me."
damn, up the wall with no rings (3:36), youve got some balls man, this boss is a nightmare
I've never quite understood why it makes the noise of a panther when you hit it lol.
@xolasinc oh, well yeah, because I never spend time getting extra lifes. when I played through this game, I just went through the stages and tried my best on bosses. I usually had less then eight lifes.
I always loved Sonic Adventure 2. I liked the first SA too but this game had a much better story, and voice acting.
vever mind i found the hammer gloves and beat 2 stories and story 3 in progress
i agree the last good sonic game.
then came in the new generation of gaming.
the dreamcast and the 64 were the last two classic gaming systems. full of fun games to play.
When do you battle it
i cried my self to sleep fighting this guy i got the game when i was 7 did not beat it until i was 10.
