    The first 5 second is enough to know how pronunciate "oe" in french, Thank you :D

  • @niluje94
    @niluje94 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    2:58 : the real pronunciation is not "Z'yeux", but "Yeux".
    We usually say "Z" because it's a plural word involving TWO eyes, yes we are humans :)
    So we pronounce the "liaison" with the S (deS_yeux, leS_yeux, eyes) and the X (deuX_yeux, two eyes).
    But, if we are talking about "a pair of eyes", the correct pronunciation is "une paire d'yeux" and not "une paire de Z'yeux".
    it's a common mistake made by the french themselves, so common that it's not really a mistake anymore, but almost the "right way" to say it.
    We even have the verb "zyeuter" which means : to take a look to observe (this verb is clearly created with the word Z'yeux).
    We have an expression, literally it is : "to look at each other between four eyes" [applies to a discussion with a person in private, without witnesses, face to face.]
    There is no S at the end of quatre (four), so the correct pronunciation should be "Se regarder entre quatre yeux".
    But it is accepted and almost everyone says "Se regarder entre quatre Zyeux", We even say it faster this way "Se regarder entre Quat'Z'yeux".

    I kinda love how barbarically fancy "œ" sounds lol... almost as much as I love how the French annunciation of "an eye" ("un œil") is the same as the English word "annoy".. if a French person overheard me telling someone "you annoy me" (which I do quite often as I tend to find most ppl very annoying lol) they'd probably think I was some crazy person demanding someone to give me there eyeball.
