    • @EdgeofNowhereFarm
      @EdgeofNowhereFarm  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question and yes! We're trying to figure out the best way of either catchment or diversion. The berry area is just South of this, so runoff will naturally run from the backside of this building into those beds. Culverts may be our best route.

    I think I might build one of these but 30x60 with 14' walls from scratch. $3000 for concrete, $1000 for beams, $2000 for Purlin, $3000 for R Panel and that should be a decent building. The doors are about $1200 and I need 3. Oh, $800 of dirt for fill is needed. Well this building is nice and the size is also good. Hope my bonus check is good so I can pay it off.

      @EdgeofNowhereFarm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Rick. This was built by Sentry Builders here in AZ, so I don't know the actual manufacturer of the building. They are a turn key builder, so with everything included (from permits to final walkthrough) it was right at about $55k. Keep in mind, this was back in 2020, so I'm sure it's a bit more expensive these days.

      @@EdgeofNowhereFarm I really wish we had done this a few years ago. A turn-key very similar to this in Missouri is now around $80k to $90k. Jen!!! Always great to see you on here. So the total cost of this building (it was turn key, so the cost was a single sum) was $55k. I don't know what the cost would be for each item as they are not itemized except for the additions that we added on (the fiberglass panels, the extra 4" elevation, etc). I believe the cost of the concrete was just under $6/sq. ft. You'll have to send us pics of your place when you get a chance. Would love to see what you're working with down there.

      Another great question. We don't plan on trying to cool this building. At least not the entire thing. We have a small swamp cooler that we use to cool us down a bit when we're working in there this time of year, but we won't try to do much more than that. We will only be storing feed in here while we have the larger livestock on the farm which is Fall through Spring. At that point it will be warm, but comfortable in there.
