Players are just not as social as they used to be. This goes for a lot of mmos in general and not just Mabinogi. Back when I was new to Mabinogi I actually volunteered to become a student/squire to another player I had recently met. She was my Mabinogi teacher for probably 2 years, I just followed them around a lot and we made up conspiracy theories about Duncan. But yeah it was just a different time back then. For some reason most players don't seem super interested in socializing with random players. This might be because some players just prefer playing solo or they could just be shy or nervous. I have a combination of both where I do have some social anxiety but at the same time I also do like playing solo. But in most cases I won't often just start talking to any random player but if a new player comes up to me and asks for help with something I am always willing to help out if I can. Also while the video idea is interesting I could also see how some players may have caught on and thought this for some type of content or entertainment and just didn't want to be apart of it. Not saying the idea is bad or anything but a tortoise much less likely to come out of it's shell when they suspect a big crowd of people are around them. The Soul Streamers balloon definitely makes it a lot more obvious this could be the case. So you may have better luck privately asking players to be your squire and seeing if they are okay with those adventures being in a youtube video or not. But I definitely think it is good some players are actually trying to find new ways to try and interact with random players to make friends. We definitely need to find a way to bring back that social activity mmos used to have.
