You had Windows 98? We had Apple ][+ with Microsoft BASIC and ProDOS 3.3(?). Eventually we had early PCs (when I was in sophomore year), like the XT (5160).
It's well renowned because it's very reliable, even in comparison to computers nowadays. Oh, and the monitor looks really nice, how much did you pay for it? Any idea what model it is? Windows XP was intended to run on at the very least a Pentium 75MHz. Windows 2000 has all the drivers for this system built in, excluding maybe the video and or audio adapters, possibly the modem if there is one. You don't seem like the kind of person to use a modem, so don't worry about that, and audio is probably discrete so you can just google the model number. The video adaptor is likely S3 or early ATi, so you could just google that as well.
The monitor is a Proview CY-565 that I payed £1 for. at some point I'll have to check out the hardware and try and track down win 2k drivers but until then xp will have to do
Computer Calamity If you could get the model number from things, you can just look that up. Windows 2000 has probably got all of the drivers, easy enough to use.
I've gone even lower with XP, with one system being a 700MHz Pent 3 and 256MB ram, 13GB hard disk and 4MB integrated ATI Rage graphics. It was an upgraded Dell Optiplex GX1 PII desktop and it ran pretty good after the upgrades.
There's always a uniform sense of classic when XP runs on this hardware.
2:03 Your school had Windows XP? Mine was still on Windows 98 in 2011 lol
We had xp in 2005! My current school only just upgraded to 7 (IMO the new xp)
