While it is confusing and maybe hard to grasp at first, it's overall a great artistic choice also making the MV stand out a lot. Most MVs nowadays are just a ton of CGI with some special sets and camera movements to look pretty, but have no real meaning or depth. Virtual Angel not only tries to convey a story line via the MV but also the editing itself plays a big role in it, as you said the "angels can't be looked at for too long". Many ppl hate on this video, but I LOVE it. If they had released the same boring MVs as other groups with just a bunch of visual shots idk if the songs would work as well as with this over the top MV. I love the song and it's meanwhile one of my fav releases this year!

So to put it simply, they are angels and in bible the angels are beings who humans can't look directly into so thats why a lot of flashing scenes
Also the mv has dark undertones as usual
