Great looking edge Matt! I'd love to see how you use your scope to get a pic of the edge like that. It's not just a pic looking straight down on the bevel. Maybe you can demo that when you do the video on the new scope your using. :)
nice stones doc :) have you tried finishing with spine leading strokes on plain water with your Ozuku Asagi, I certainly got better results. Good informative video with no myths as usual. thanks matt
+aljuwaiedak Thanks for comments. I do use trailing passes at times. I guess it just depends on my mood. I believe I did some on my coticule demonstration video.
Thanks Don. That particular Ozuku is really hard and gives a very brisk edge. Even more than the Nakayama. Some guys think it's too much but I love it.
howdy,do you think the sticking sensation is the metal that has been displaced by friction plus pressure? possibly creating a micro burr? just idle thoughts here.....cheers!
Nick, they can be found several places. I would be sure that you get them from a person who has tested them on razors first. Email me if you would like more info.
I did at at the sink after the camera was turned off. 😜 The initial stone I would just leave the slurry on because I didn't feel like making a new slurry every time for a pre-finisher. The theory is that the slurry breaks down and becomes finer and finer the more it's used therefore giving a more refined edge. That theory has been pretty much busted. So I guess you can say I don't rinse it off and build new slurry every time because I'm being lazy.
Just started watching your vids and finding very educational and interesting. Picked up one them strops already. THANK YOU
Love your vids doc ty for taking the time to make them

Awesome like always
Do you re-use the slurry you drain in the cup? Thanks for the video. Right on time.
+Mark Dayoc I don't Mark because that cup is mixed with others but I know guys who do and that's fine.

What kind of stones are those? What grit?
Drmatt357. Where do you find these natural stones?

how come you don't clean off the slurry on the stone afterward? Will this damage the stone?
