It is insightful to draw parallels with other markets. What sells more? a $5,000 Gibson guitar or a $500 Epiphone guitar? A $20,000 Toyota or a $200,000 Ferrari? The answer is that although there is a waiting list for the Ferrari, the turnover and therefore the cumulative profits are higher in the Toyotas. So don't discard your 2nd tier watches as non-marketable, just understand that the dealer has to make a profit and be ready for a 50% cut. Why is this surprising?
So relevant to me right now. Can’t sell my Doxa Sub 300 at all, literally no dealer wants it. 😂
tbh not surprised. they’re readily available and not many who want one will buy used when they can pick one up new, and negotiate a discount. however they’re very cool watches. if i had one i think I’d keep it 🤓

It's still a good watch. You're probably just bored of it at the moment. Put it away for a while and later when you wear it again, you'll remember why you liked it wanted to buy it in the first place.

DavidSW offered to buy my brand new Polar E2 this week for exactly what I paid for it including tax so I could have broke even. But every other grey either only offered to take it on consignment, offered me $1500 less than MSRP, or outright declined. I wasn’t actually selling because I LOVE this watch- I was just curious so I submitted offers to sell.
DavidSW was great to me...Ive both bought and sold with them....great company.

Let me understand this. The watch market has slowed to a crawl, and nobody's buying. So as an authorized dealer I will double amd triple down becoming more stubborn than ever. That ought to bring people back. The AD's had no issue selling all those dogs to you. Everybody wants it both ways. Maybe if the AD network collapsed we would get a legitimate market correction.
My brother offered an AD $4K cash for a $4,600 SBGM221 Grand Seiko. The dealer said no. Full sticker. Sure. Full sticker. He told me he will never go back to that AD again.
I’d just like to say that my 3rd tier watch cost me an arm and a leg, and that it’s running at 0spd with 0.0ms beat error.

Thats right guys. And if you try to sell your watch to another end user yourself, you probably end up getting stabbed in a hotel parking lot. Watches are a terrible store of value. Its a disasta.
