Thank you. I'm glad to see people enjoy hearing about failed sewing makes. I'm always nervous to post such videos because we don't talk enough, in the sewing community, about our failures. So I appreciate your comment and feedback.
Finally, someone almost my very size. Just a little smaller bust wise but so close. I love watching you and your choices of pattern and fabric. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge.
😅 it comes at random times. At the beginning of the year, my sewjo was seriously lacking. So when I get a bout of energy, I try to take advantage of it and sew as much as I can.
I veer toward simpler dress patterns especially with pattern prices increasing. Uncomplicated, they often seem to showcase fabric and the design of dress better. They keep my anxiety down where I can enjoy the construction process. Wrap dresses can be tricky.
You're welcome! It's nice to share our experiences, good and bad. I was sad that some of these didn't work out. But I learned something from the "failed" pieces.
I enjoy learning about what worked for you and what didn't - including the dress that didn't even get a picture! I was sewing a Simplicity t-shirt dress a few years ago - sewed the side and shoulder seams, tried it on to check the fit, and immediately took the thread out of the machine and gave the pattern away 😄. It just wasn't for me.
That's exactly how that new look pattern went for me. Once I did that fit check and realized it wasn't going to fit appropriately, I put it to the side and thought, "Is this pattern even worth it?" Some patterns I don't mind making the necessary adjustments for and others I feel are way too simplistic to put hours of work into them.
Yep! I will not be sewing that one either. I'm so happy I only paid $3 for that pattern, and the fabric was sponsored. So, the only thing I really lost out on is my time, which I am not happy about. But I'm glad it was not a $20 pattern and $20 or more piece of fabric. I remember when that Vogue pattern was first released. There were so many people recommending that pattern. I don't understand it. Did they have a great experience? Was the pattern well drafted for them? I'm so confused by that.
They can be frustrating. Every once in a while, I find a good one, especially if it's a repeat from a different brand. But goodness, that was a horrible pattern. 😕
Hi! The link to the review for the v1952 is in the description. I can definitely give a review of V2060. I'll have to see about a sew a long. Thank you for the recommendation! Blessings
Huge apologies were are your reviews and inparticular McCall 8449. I have it in my sewing table atm, I want to read your review first. Thank you, I enjoy your videos…
Hi! If you look in the description under the video you'll see links to the reviews I mentioned in this video. I didn't see McCall's M8449 yet. But I would like to sew it someday. Blessings
At 4:05, I misspoke! The fabric was sponsored by Morex, not Zelouff Fabrics. I hope you all enjoy today's video. Blessings!
Thank you for sharing information about patterns that didn’t work out. You don’t hear many people share bad experiences.
Is that right? I can understand the hesitation. I personally don't like giving negative reviews. But I also want to give honest reviews. Blessings.
Thank you x
You're welcome
I appreciate your reviews, especially those patterns that didn’t work and why. So helpful!

That's quite a list. I will be happy if I can sew 3 dresses before the end of the year. You sure have a lot of energy

Great list! Love the dresses you made so far. Can't wait to see your recreation of the designer dress.
😚 me too! I hope it works out well

Don't I know it! When I saw the Mccall's patterns on sale for $3.99 last week, I just about fell out. I'm not ready for this, again! Happy sewing
I enjoy your videos so much! Thank you for making such informative content.

Vogue v9311 came free with a UK magazine. I think that is why it was popular.
I too, threw mine in the bin and we do not speak of it again. 😊

Did you allocate your length adjustments in the bodice?
That's the reason I do not use New Look patterns at all. NL pattern for a drawstring pant omitted the back pant pattern, good grief.

Too bad about those butterick dresses. They really look good on you. Can you do a pattern review or maybe a sew along when you do the v1952 and v2060?
