What if Chance killed Latricia and Dub took off with Chance to protect him from prosecution? Chance's foot print was next to her Body. Dub's wasn't. That could be why Dub took off with his son. He wasn't kidnapping him, he was protecting him.
Yes, that is exactly what I thought! Maybe Chance found the weapon and killed Latricia either by accident or on purpose and because Dub loved his son so much he wanted to protect him, that's why they left. That was kinda the first theory I thought of when the footprint was mentioned.

Beth - cause police makes a lot of mistakes... There was one case where they accused the husband of murdering his wife. They were convinced it was him. She was murderd in a living wagon or close to it (I don't remember the exact details). The police had the place locked down and the area, so they could searching for clues. They also called the womens family. Her family found the husband dead in the area! Not that far away from the dead women! And in a lot of cases the evidence is lost or they make a mistakes with DNA evidence and so on. It's so sad...

I’m not sure how reliable this may be, but I came across that they have newer evidence. “In early 2017, Gaye Williams reached out to the TH-cam Channel of Cayleigh Elise, who did a video on the case. Gaye stated that she had been in contact with law enforcement, specifically the new officer on the case who looked at everything from the beginning. He told her that he found a lot of discrepancies in the original investigation and he had evidence that both Chance and Dub were dead and had been killed by the same person who killed Latricia.” Wish they would’ve stated the new evidence!

I feel like it wasn't Dub because he would have killed her out of anger and she would have most likely been awake it have defensive wounds if that's the case. My theory is that a shady third party- well versed in crime executed this. Maybe a person who only knew Lee and was looking for revenge. He watches and goes in the house only when she's asleep and Lee isn't going to be home until later. He executes her to get rid of a possible witness, the boy wakes up and he scared him by showing him what he did. He uses him to move/stage crime scene. He then threatens him to cooperate so he could use him to kidnap Lee when he gets home. Drives out switches car, gets rid of Lee (maybe as an example or after having him commit another crime) and maybe the boy. Maybe sells Chance to human trafficking for more money? Could have been multiple people involved.
I think he snapped and killed her in a rage. Chance witnessed the murder or saw her body afterwards so Dub took him and ran and staged the truck there then fled maybe to another country or just knew the right people to help him disappear.
Raven Young that’s so unrealistic because if it was a crime of passion he would have made a mistake and they would have been found or at least spotted he wouldn’t have thought every through to me someone else had to be involved

It’s not easy to disappear like that willingly, especially with a child. I has happened, but it isn’t common. With no tension with Chance’s mom or his current spouse, what reason would he have to commit murder and run? I think it was an outside person. I don’t know if there’s a connection between said outside person and any of the family, but the blood in the truck and the left behind possessions leads me that way.
Chance killed Letricia with doves household gun when he was playing with it and Dove tried to save/cover up Chances killing by taking him away and hiding as he was scared of what would happen to him seeing as it was his gun and what would happen to chance.
