Every time when you listen to his playing you undergo that feeling that you didn't understand anything in this music....Regardless how much times you heard it (and maybe even played). Where is that prettiness and coziness you always expect to hear in this concert and feel kinda jealous of that guy who lived his life among this cold Norwegian beauty ? But like as usual Pletnev's playing treats very tough with your expectations .Instead of all those elves, kobolds and fishmen you feel somewhere between 4th Tchaikowsky's symphony and Schubert's Winterreise . Single note isn't played casually here and in every sound you hear very lonely person for whom this Order of Elves and Goblins became like a shelter he found running away from his miserable family life.
