Some comics do the same routine again and again and it bores me to tears. I could watch this guy do the same stuff forever and he'd still make me laugh.
R.I.P. In a world full of mostly nondescript comics, there was no mistaking this guy for another. I remember a similar bit he did in the late 80s/early 90s in which the woman was a "volunteer" from the audience, even though it quickly became obvious that she'd been chosen beforehand and knew what she was getting herself into.
It looks like Psychic Bambi was the comedienne whose stage name was Destiny. I recently saw her on a Johnny Carson rerun, which IMDb says was originally broadcast on Oct 10, 1991. The full guest list: Carl Reiner/Destiny/Mike Zele. A stage name like that is common enough that the other "Destinys" made it impossible to find anything else about her.
I saw this man live in Las Vegas way back when. He got the couple to the right of us. He got the couple to the left. I guess my gal and I lucked out! I was all ready for the foamy mouth gag and everything! Jonathon was/is a mad man. I love that guy! (Manly of course!)
He died yesterday unfortunately (Feb 22), to answer your question he had a heart condition and so didn't tour as much in his later years and went into semi retirement.
The young feminists of today would get a major kick out of this lol this was back when people couldn't go on Twitter and bitch about things. What a wonderful age.
If you watch his act, he's usually abusive to himself- first and foremost, the gag is that anyone he touches in his act gets wrecked like a tornado. Compared to other comics of the era (Sam Kinison, Andrew dice Clay) he wasn't misogynistic, just equally abusive. Not getting women equally involved would be sexist.
@@atm6870 I hope you wrote this in Australia or China. Otherwise, you wrote this in the middle of the night on a Saturday night. The night girls go out to fuck....And you're writing TH-cam comments. Very telling.
That was actually his wife at the time who he met in Australia. Sadly they are no longer together, but I understand he's remarried. Not in the greatest of health however. Anyone who is a prayerful person please pray for Jonathan!
There was an Amazing Jonathon act where he takes a $20 bill from a volunteer, puts it in an envelope, mixes it with 2 other envelopes, asks the volunteer which envelope it's in after shuffling them, burns the other 2 in a small bucket, whole mixing in his humor, anyone know if that recording exists? I had it taped, but lost the tape, that was my favorite Amazing Jonathon.
I love some of Johnathan's gimmicks and stuff, but after watching a few videos of his performances, you can begin to see the repetition in his routines. The Jack in the box bit The scissors to the head The fake knife cutting the arm The seagull attack The smashed bird The magnetic string Repetitious!
The joke is he's collecting bic lighters...he asks for a bic lighter with the perception he's going to do magic with it....then whe he gets it he pulls out his bic collection and adds to it.
I remember seeing him live and the first trick was the bic lighter one 😂 R.I.P. to a man who was simply amazing.
His act is original in its time and still a treat to watch still. He is a great old school comic. Very respectful sho.
