Interesting pen. After watching your previous comments on the oversized balance, several have been included in my collection! Love them. Perhaps I need to try the Laban pen.
I'm happy that you're back into FP reviews. I have 3 Labans; two 325s and one Greek Key. The latter gave me quite a bit of trouble with the nib/feed. I contacted Laban service and they sent me an entire section/nib replacement. I had trouble with that, too, but by working on the nib I finally got the pen to write correctly. I have a Kaweco Dia2 that has a spring in the barrel to keep a cartridge/converter in place. It works well with a cartridge; I haven't tried it with a converter..
That is a very nice and sophisticated looking pen. I haven’t used a Laban yet, but I might. Taccia inks also are some of my favorites. Thanks for sharing the „spring hack“. Happy writing!
So good to see you back using Fountain Pens again Alicia! Interesting concept of using a spring to keep the converter in place, but sometimes, lesser is better, in this case... Gorgeous pen and the nib is a beauty!
Fun video! The Taccia is beautiful ink -- Pilot Iroshizuku Asa-gao takes care of that part of the spectrum for me. The Laban - lovely resin & nib. I ran into a similar issue with a spring at the back of the barrel once in, I think, a Cross of some sort, years ago. I gave mine to a friend with a lathe for parts; but, had I kept it, and not removed the spring, I'd have reused cartridge with an ink syringe.
It's a good companion to your Sheaffer; time will tell if it's of equal quality, but it sure is pretty. As ever, watching you write is a delight wish my lines were so well-formed. Cheers from Australia.
I enjoyed the vintage pens show and tell with the new pen ! You got me into the newer ones and I still crave for a vintage one even tho it feels like a project and like you once said I would never use them it would be just for decoration and nah
So many things to like here. First off, love the glasses ... very cool! Like you , I love Taccia inks, and this one needs to be added to the collection. I'm really loving the look of that pen. Ironically, I recently purchased two new Cross Peerless 125 pens and experienced the same phenomenon with the barrel turning the converter piston knob. No "spring" in this case, but there is an insert in place to capture/limit the converter movement i.e., keep it from rattling. I reached out to Cross, but never heard back. I'm not sure if it can be removed, but certainly worth taking a closer look given the success you had. Cheers!
Smurf fingers! :D All fountain pen and ink fanatics have been there and do not mind! Love the earth tones in that pen and I'm glad the spring issue was easily resolved, but it would disappoint me for it to have occurred at all.
Haha Smurf fingers! Yeah, for some reason it didn’t bother me so much. I’ve been bothered a lot by malfunctioning pens, but this was just not that big a deal for some reason!
Beautiful pen and looks reallyso nice to write with. Re: Taccia, I think it's pronounced with an SH sound. Think that that is what I heard when Daisy interviewed Shu-jen Lin. Could be my old ears, mind you. Thanks for this video.
Yup, a beautiful pen. Glad you solved your inky fingers problem. You explained the bouncey nib feeling perfectly. A slight spring in a nib is a highly desired quality for me also. So many pen choices and so little money, dang. I will buy this pen tomorrow if if will make me write like you. Will it?
Maybe as a consumer I am less tolerant, but on the assumption this is not a cheap purchase, I would not put up with skipping, although maybe the ink compatibility is the issue...or maybe it needs solvent cleaning before use?? But as pretty as it is, the fact it has two major design flaws and was still released... Sucky manufacturers. Given the spring was added to stop the converter falling off (!), I would never take this out e.g. on a trip. It's cursed. Also may imply difficulty refitting the converter if you were ever to remove it. Or that it is not fitted properly RIGHT NOW and is on the verge of leaking...😮
It seems quite temperamental. Great video! I love your pen videos.
Initially, yes. But without the spring and with a little micro mesh, it’s much improved.
Interesting pen. After watching your previous comments on the oversized balance, several have been included in my collection! Love them. Perhaps I need to try the Laban pen.
I got a Laban 325 and I LOVE it!

I have one Laban and love the look and feel and it hard starts all the time. I’ll have to check for the spring!
Oh bummer about the hard starts!

Aww thanks! It sounded like the spring works well most of the time, but every once in a while there’s a malfunctioning one.
I have the Laban Cambridge and absolutely love it. Glad you were able to get the issue fixed. Thanks for sharing.
I recently ordered a TWSBI eco. I'm very excited, since I started watching your pen videos I wanted one so bad and now I'm getting one
Wahoo!!
what a beautiful pen!!! I was looking at pens today :) this is sooo beautiful
It is a beauty!
Thank you Alicia!
You’re welcome!
Alicia, Just wondering if you have ever reviewed an Edison Fountain Pen? Would love to get your feedback.

Oh my gosh that brown bear sticker on your notebook is so cute!
Thanks! It’s from a sticker sheet I picked up at Yoseka Stationery :D
Very cool 😊I love it’s ❤
😊

Oh thank you! I remember that video now. I think I was so surprised by the pronunciation that I forgot completely, lol!

Haha if only it were so simple! Although I would argue, an inspiring pen does impact one’s writing.
Very retro-styled pen. Shame about the spring issue, but I'm sure that can be resolved.
Without the spring it works great. I’ll be curious to see how Laban remedies the issue in the future, if they do at all.
could you please do a pen thoughts on the Lamy 2000?
You should get some lava soap…it gets ink off hands better than anything I’ve tried.
Ooh good tip :)

Or that it is not fitted properly RIGHT NOW and is on the verge of leaking...😮
Plant tour please.
That would be fun!
Where did you get the quick brown fox stamp?
That’s from Yoseka Stationery. It’s pretty great!
I have two of these - one has a really excellent nib and the other is over-polished and a bit skippy. The luck of the pen draw…
:)
😊
Great videos. U beautiful! :)
actually I've gotten to the point where I only buy Sailors.
That’s fun!!
Sailor pens are nice but they can get expensive in this fountain pen rabbit hole of pen acquisitions.
@@genelo6890 tell me about it.
