Oh WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was yelling at the screen "don't add any more" and you did - and it got even better - your vision, your colours .... blown away!!! Thank you for an amazing video and an absolutely fantastic painting. xxxxx
Thank you Helen! I will be putting up a talk I did about the video. You can't see the close up of the painting, but I'm talking about each stage and how I went about doing it. Thank you very much for watching!
I work in fibres ,silk the main one I favor and it's such a natural fit for watercolours some of my paintings just take on a new life of its own! I encourage watercolour artists to try to add a little bit of collage and experience how it will make your paintings breathtaking! we both have a very similar colour pallette.....this made my day so thankyou very much!
Thank you Terri! I needed to hear that! I've been busy setting up a 'real' bricks and mortar gallery/studio and everything has taken so much time! not to mention energy. I've also having the worst menopause ever with regular migraines. Thank you so much for giving me a prod. I filmed a newer, slower, version of Sun Goddess which is being edited, and will have a voice over. I think the whole business of making films is so big that I just couldn't even start while I had so much else on. But now I do plan to get back into it. Thank you so much for your comment. You are a Godsend. xxx hugs
@@KateBedellArtist, I know the feeling of wearing many hats as I had a garden and floral business some years ago. You run into yourself coming and going. Now I just have a little art studio and look for inspiration from my favorite artists like you. Ahhh the menopause, it's behind me now but I had similar problems. If you can ditch sugar and processed foods, chocolate, peanuts and cheese (maybe all dairy for the time being it may help. Also a dab of progesterone cream can help balance the ups and downs of your changing estrogens. Eat whole foods from the earth as often as you can. It's hard to be creative under those conditions. I will look forward to your posting in the future.
i watch this video just bcause i love watching you paint. its so relaxing and beautiful. Its one of my favorite paintings ever. Can i ask what is the white see thru pieces? paper? silk? thanks
Superb.....did not realize the layering, depth and method to the madness :-)) till I saw the complete video....would help if you can give tips to budding water colour artists on some self help reading videos tips tricks etc....Thanks You
+Jasmin Rathod Hi Jasmin. I have got some tips and materials lists on my blog site watercoloursunlimited.com/ which I will be adding to as time allows. Feel free to email me anytime if you have any questions. Best wishes and happy painting. x
Wonderful work, clearly your canvas is on an angle to allow the water to flow downwards at a decent rate, can you please tell us about how dramatic of an angle you like to work in for a somewhat manageable flow but still getting the nice running effect?
Hi there. The angle in the video is about 4 to 5 inches - just enough to lean towards me so that I can see everything more easily. I have worked at a steeper angle in the past but this is what I prefer now. I like to have it so that there are pools of wetness still on the paper. Hope this helps!
Watercolours Unlimited thanks so much for such a quick response. I really appreciate it as I start to dive into watercolors more than ever before. I really liked the feel of flow you are getting out of your colors.
Not yet Dawne. I'm working on it! If you email me I will put you on the list to let you know when they're ready. kate@katebedell.com Thanks for your comments. x
I use Golden top gel coat with a UV filter. Or you can use matte or gloss medium. golden are the best, but liquitex are also good. Basically it is an acrylic medium for adding to the acrylic paint. Hope this helps! YOu can find the rest of the materials here. watercoloursunlimited.com/materials-i-use/
