Same here, I like simple and spacious cars with the possibility to go camping, or getting large stuff in the car, and still being able to have extra family members when necessary. Long distance to visit family always end-up having frequent stops but I'm not quite sure if the range and recharge time will match the frequency and the duration of our stops on the highways. A Hybrid would have been preferable, or I need to budget an extra small diesel generator. :/
Actually makes a lot of sense for me, need a 7 seater for 3 kids, but my lifestyle is pretty urban. City driving mostly so an electric vehicle with the capacity and a shorter range is perfectly fine.
The lack of range is the killer on this one. It rather limits it's use to the local school run and shopping. It would be useless to go touring in either in this country or abroad.
agreed - and having owned three Citroen Berlingos over the years (my brother-in-law had 4), this is not fit for why the bought the other 7. Citroen/Peugeot just lost one of their most successful markets.
I LOVE the Rifter and WANT one... BUT... wouldn't possibly spend such a huge sum on a vehicle designed for family outings that had such a limited range!!! In winter it'd be like driving a petrol engined Rifter that had a 10 litre fuel tank filled via a pipe only 1mm wide!!! Half-hour breaks every 100 or so miles??? RIDICULOUS This car DEFINITELY needs a much larger battery. Whatever were Ciroen/Peugeot/Vauxhall thinking????? If the price were cut in half... I STILL wouldn't consider buying one!!!
What is the range with 2 adults, 3 kids, luggage for a week, a couple bicycles inside and a couple on a rack off the back , some beach stuff , mountain stuff?
Are all british country roads so narrow, or only the ones car testers film their tests? Here a road needs to be 7m wide to have lines in the middle. Or is the e-rifter 3 m wide?
Roads are really narrow all round where I live in Surrey. Cars always scraped by the bushes as you pass others, loads of pot holes and broken up surface… and lots of unmade up roads too!
Fantastic review. Love your style and humour. I'm looking at getting one for a company car when they add it to the list. The huge boot and 3 "proper" seats in the back are especially appealing as I've got 3 teenage brats, none of whom like siting in the middle on the half seat of my Kadjar.
Picked the "new" Rifter from 2024 as my company car. Biggest change is that it has longer range, which is very welcome. Delivery is set for December, I'm quite looking forward to it.
A cracking review Nicola, I had to laugh at the homage pose with the foot on the tyre for the "subscribe and like" intro, very vintage Clarkson. Oddly I quite like it, no scrub that, I would consider this car for a purchase. That practicality is brilliant. It's also multi purpose as well with all those windows as you can grow some tomato plants (other plants are available) while your charging if you only have a 3 pin plug available (a sunroof would be recommended for best results). If working charge points were more plentiful it could well be on my test drive list for when I decide to change my car. With todays traffic it's harder to drive worth a modicum of spirit so driving something that handles like a drunk mattress would be a non issue in my daily life.
That range is abysmal ... You are basically forced to charge it on expensive petrol stations if you use it outside the city or local areas and I am talking about my use case in Slovenia, which is really really small.
Loved the review Nicola. Actually really like the look of this! It's actually more rugged and SUV looking than most cars that brands are trying to call SUV's these days haha.
Great and Enthusiastic review from Nicola, my mother in law recently took delivery of a Rifter which has been adapted to carry a wheel chair for my father in law and still plenty of space to take the two grandkids to the park, not seen it yet but I do want to have a look around one as it seems to get very good reviews.
I have a great idea, how about a nice sensible diesel engine, for people with more than half a functioning brain cell. I had wondered why the used price had gone through the roof for good used examples. I'd love to see a family try to do a European trip in this! Wow that'll be fun!
I had a Berlingo version of this on hols a few years ago, and it was quite simply the best 'real world' people mover I've ever used. A relaxing drive too. Updated, this Rifter looks great. And talking of looking great, notice how Nicola's clothes match the colours of the car..? Stylish.
they cheaped out on a 50kwh battery, the MG suv has a 70kwh battery and a range of 280 miles WLTP(250-ish real world, but more than 300 if only town driving...) and i would hazzard a guess that the MG is better equipped and has a better quality interior.. there's no reason why this van hasn't got an 80kwh battery, its big enough... but typically psa, they want BMW cash for Dacia spec..
i have the diesel vauxhall van version, and its a bit ropey to be honest... and the nice enclosed cockpit feel isn't that great after a reasonable journey after the side of your knee hurts like buggery after whacking and rubbing on the centrre console..
Looks a lovely vehicle for sure 👌 a lot of people are giving out about the range but how many people actually drive over 150 miles per day . Mmmmm i wonder 🤔🤔🤔
I live in Somerset with one son in Kent, the other in London. The extra time to (find a working/available) charger mid-journey, plus the additional time having stop rules these cars out for me. And I've owned 3 previously. My brother-in-law lives in Devon, his daughter lives in Surrey, his son in York. Plus now that he and his wife are retired and like to tour the country - he could never buy one either - having bought 4 Berlingos previously. Citroen / Peugeot / Vauxhall just killed their own market by not bringing this out as a hybrid.
This is overpriced low range plastic garvage toy car. In Ireland they ask for 62k. What a joke? She looks nice but the car is rubbish. I wish she speak the truth.
I love this car, but an active lifestyle car with such low mileage doesn’t make any sense to me
Same here, I like simple and spacious cars with the possibility to go camping, or getting large stuff in the car, and still being able to have extra family members when necessary. Bought one of these Yolks last year Max I got was 165 miles out of a full charge TRULY BRUTAL Sold it after 6 months and bought a Diesel Tiguan
The lack of range is the killer on this one. It rather limits it's use to the local school run and shopping. It would be useless to go touring in either in this country or abroad.

I do the abroad trips in a Renault traffic and find myself stopping every 3 hours. This looks like it can do 80% charge in a typical stop.
I LOVE the Rifter and WANT one... BUT... wouldn't possibly spend such a huge sum on a vehicle designed for family outings that had such a limited range!!!

Great view Nicola!
I am tempted, but the range is just terrible. In 2022 less than 200 miles isn't good enough!
Real time is 165miles truly BRUTAL Bought one last year NEVER AGAIN
The short range really is a dealbreaker for me. Otherwise I like everything about this car, even the look.
I have a Mercedes Vito and it’s usually full of bikes and kayaks, I’m getting excited about my electric alternatives now.
Did u get one? I drive a Vito long, and am.looking at e Rifter and e Berlingo
How are the back seats attached?
Ace car - but what's that in the headline about being a leg-up on the Citroen Berlingo?? Berlingo front grill/ headlight assembly all day for me.
I have a diesel one and love it
Have you had any problems with the adblue?
@KodieCollingsGaming No problem at all. The only thing is the arm rest broke after a year not very sturdy
Rifter- a breath of fresh air 😂
Congrats on keeping a straight face there 😁
Not to be confused with a Grifter or Bifter ....;) lol
No LED runninglights :(
Are all british country roads so narrow, or only the ones car testers film their tests? Here a road needs to be 7m wide to have lines in the middle. Or is the e-rifter 3 m wide?
its likely they were testing either on a private road, or at millbrook, a test track/road...
Roads are really narrow all round where I live in Surrey. Cars always scraped by the bushes as you pass others, loads of pot holes and broken up surface… and lots of unmade up roads too!
I want the diesel with AT so much

Throw in your kids 🤣 you & Mat from Carwow are the best car reviewers.
Nice to know battery chemistry. Most important issue.
Can I get one with barn doors? I prefer them to a tailgate.
Not on the passenger version - only the Partner van.
hey thats near Chobham Common!
Did she mention range?
Yes. You can use the video chapters to skip to certain sections: Range and Charging from 6:20
Fantasic review Nicola!! Fun to watch, not boring at all😅
I love your reviews as you are so honest, thank you!😊 Thinking of getting one of these for my wheelchair to go in, we need something bigger 👍
Rifter or Partner or Tepee? To many name's with similarity model😃😃😁
Great car, but stop trying to be amusing. It doesn't suit the subject and is just irritating unless you are good at it.
I enjoyed watching the Video Review. Ideal for Families who don’t want a SUV
The title contains a question about comparing it to the Citroen version, but this is never mentioned in the video. Disappointed.

Seems to be a good thing . range needs to be improved..
and a GT ? that would be a NO!
That range is abysmal ... You are basically forced to charge it on expensive petrol stations if you use it outside the city or local areas and I am talking about my use case in Slovenia, which is really really small.
If somebody ask me for a car, well this is the car. The rest are just toys and art.
Loved the review Nicola. Actually really like the look of this! It's actually more rugged and SUV looking than most cars that brands are trying to call SUV's these days haha.
this car will cost your soul also
Great and Enthusiastic review from Nicola, my mother in law recently took delivery of a Rifter which has been adapted to carry a wheel chair for my father in law and still plenty of space to take the two grandkids to the park, not seen it yet but I do want to have a look around one as it seems to get very good reviews.
Only thing wrong with it is the range. I've got a rifter with a spare wheel lol
Great Review. Could you review the new 308 or DS4 or Astra please?🔥
Our 308 review is coming, and we'll sort the others ASAP!
I have a great idea, how about a nice sensible diesel engine, for people with more than half a functioning brain cell. I had wondered why the used price had gone through the roof for good used examples. I'd love to see a family try to do a European trip in this! Wow that'll be fun!
I would buy one, but I want an EV-first car, with a small, 24hp ICE - just for long trips.
In most countries Peugeot walked back the “electric only” strategy. Guess nobody wanted a junk range for higher price. Who would have figured 😂😂😂
If only second row had adjustable angle…
I bet it goes like the clappers. The van ain’t half bad either!
Looks great. I'll buy one when they put a diesel engine in it
They have diesel engine for this model , they have been for years
Nicola your video is great! 😊
I liked it from the beginning..
Did I note the tiniest tinge of bitterness in the Fiat 500 storage comparison comment there, Nicola? (And fair enough too.) Great video guys!
She should know, she bought one! (inside joke, sorry)
A full car review and price wasn't mentioned once......
Prices are subject to change, which is why we don't mention them in our videos. All you need to know is on carbuyer.co.uk!
Perfect car for families. I use diesel 1.5 130ps. Have no idea about useless electric toy car.
Nicola is back to Carbuyer.
Terrible Range Expensive Slow to Charge, The usual EV story.
I had a Berlingo version of this on hols a few years ago, and it was quite simply the best 'real world' people mover I've ever used. A relaxing drive too. Updated, this Rifter looks great. And talking of looking great, notice how Nicola's clothes match the colours of the car..? Stylish.
The range is terrible for a big car. It’s a shame because the car looks great for carrying people.
they cheaped out on a 50kwh battery, the MG suv has a 70kwh battery and a range of 280 miles WLTP(250-ish real world, but more than 300 if only town driving...) and i would hazzard a guess that the MG is better equipped and has a better quality interior.. there's no reason why this van hasn't got an 80kwh battery, its big enough... but typically psa, they want BMW cash for Dacia spec..
@@iainansell5930 whats psa ?
forgive me for my ignorance 🤗
Great review but I'm sick of electric vehicles being pushed, especially when you consider their cost and pathetic mileage.
got to say the electric put me off shame I like it
Still waiting for tucson vs sportage video 😕
While we don't like to make promises we can't keep... It's looking like it'll be ready next week!
She is beautiful then that car ❤️😬
rubbish range, PSA are so far behind others in the EV game, not worth the cash.. did'nt hear you mention a price, but i'm guessing £35k plus...
With electric going up it won't be cheap to run plus 150 miles in the real world... nah!👎
In case you hadn't noticed, petrol is pretty expensive these days too! It's all relative...
i like these reviews but I wish they were less cynically. But I am not British, so whatever.
People liked the 🚗
I liked the girl
Pathetic range otherwise a handy vehicle would sell better if petrol or diesel.
i have the diesel vauxhall van version, and its a bit ropey to be honest... and the nice enclosed cockpit feel isn't that great after a reasonable journey after the side of your knee hurts like buggery after whacking and rubbing on the centrre console..
Looks a lovely vehicle for sure 👌

my DAD has one Lol
You as beautiful as the car 😻
My god can that woman talk!
If Mat Watson was a woman
she is funny
❤
Does every review have to be delivered like a local amateur drama group's Christmas pantomime ?
This is overpriced low range plastic garvage toy car. In Ireland they ask for 62k. What a joke? She looks nice but the car is rubbish. I wish she speak the truth.
150 miles? This car is useless💩😕
Nicola is not my favourite reviewer but when she resorts to super this and super that, it's enough to make me 🤮
